I prefer creating conversions in google ads versus analytics. But he makes a good point at 13:55 when he says he doesn’t use google analytics much because google ad data is better but that he sometimes works with clients who have all of their key events tracked in ga4 that a prior agency set up and he imports them into google ads.
Thank you! And I agree, I set up all new conversions with Google Ads/Google Tag Manager but if the client has them tracking in GA4 then I'll just import them to make that process easier.
Not a huge difference but there's a slight delay in reporting with GA4. I prefer Google Tag Manager + Google Ads but either way as long as you're optimizing for conversions it won't have a huge impact on campaign performance.
Should you created the conversion in Google Ads? Or can you create it this way and then import it into Google Ads, then Google Ads uses that is the conversion for the campaings?
How do I set the new event in Analytics if I have created the tag for tracking using "Google Ads Conversion Tracking" in Google Tag Manager? Do I have to create another tag of type Google Analytics: GA4 Event to have the event_name avaiable in to Analytics?
Thanks for this, I have been looking for ages where they moved all of the conversions data bits. Google has a habit to update their dashboards for no reason, just for the sake of it to confuse people all the time LOL! Just keep the design in one place FFS, even changed conversions to key events in GA4 why? LOL Anyway good vid thanks
In second way we are importing event from analytics only not from tag manager in the Google ads.
Great stuff! Question - Why not the other way around - setup conversions in Google Ads and then import over to Analytics?

What is the difference between creating a conversion directly in google ads versus creating in ga4 and importing it in google ads
