My knowledge about horses comes from watching equestrian at olympics ... Melanie smith (?) was very good at talking horses. But i happened to catch a 60 minuets (TV in the US) news item that spoke of a horse that was not good at competition, jumping, etc. The horse was trouble and unruly. Some lady bought the horse and discovered he loved long distance running. The horse was a champion at these long distance events.
Same here lol I have a 13yr old TB that looks amazing doing, dressage, hunters, and Eq, but he loves moving out and doing x country and field hacking lol so instead of making a square peg fit a triangle hole I decided showing was not for him. We do fun shows, field hacking, and some dressage. Just purchased a broodmare so well see if anything she has sparks my interests lol
I had an absolutely wonderful, beautiful gelding that I later learned had been abused at a horse show and panicked every time he went to one. He went on to have a lovely career as an endurance horse, something he wanted to do.
Just like humans, there's plenty of people with amazing voices who can't sing live or people with the right genetics for sport- but lacking the necessary mindset and discipline. Horses, dogs,cats -all animals really - they are just as different from eachother as we are as people. Same training, similar genetics and upbringing can still make siblings the polar opposites of eachother so it's not surprising it's the same in other mammals.
@@Janerane It happens. If a designers horse is really misbehaved, they're not gonna be good on a photoshoot, so they hire horses who have a good tempermant and are good with flashes as others might get spooked.

Hmm, I don't think dogs and horses should be handled the same way. They think differently. I'd say I speak pretty good horse, but not so much dog. I've handled a couple stallions and a few mares in my life. They are different from geldings. I could say, 'bigger personalities', as in, a bit more difficult. Kinda easily offended. I've noticed a similar behaviour works on ten-year-old children - calm, straight-forward, encouraging, firm. They like to question your authority at times, but if you are fair, adult, explain to them, and always stick to your principles, you can win their trust. I think it's fair to say a stallion should be handled a bit differently from a gelding. They think differently too.

So i follow you for a few month now and just watched your video "reacting to hate comments" and i noticed: you actually read the comments! so i thought i want to tell you how much you inspired me and how i just think you are right in what you do! therefore i created a google account to be able to comment your videos. this is my first comment ever and just because i want to tell you how very nice you are with your horses and that you are so good in your way to explain everything you do! i worked several years as a groom and i can tell: you are so patient and adorable with your 3horses! that is sadly not given everywhere... and everything you do is so understandable and ... well... human. its finally a very clear and true look inside a riders/stable life!!!! and the way you explain things inspired me a lot in my work with my ridingstudents, so, THANK YOU! thank you for sharing everything just how it is! Sad you think you will never own a horse. I'm 71 and still ride, so never give up on a dream. Just pay and have a few lessons, meet up with horsey people . People like me who would drag you along to a show or comp and learn how to be hands on for free. Strapper are always welcome and wanted. In the end you will end up learning, and having a ride without it costing you a penny or one red cent, depending on where you live.

I can't even imagine how akward it must be to have people line up to say hi. They all know you but you know nothing about them. I would be the worst and so uncomfortabele for all of this.
yeah but can you blame him, he doesnt know them yet they know alot about him, so it is kinda awkward. he needs to be nice to everyone and hug them and be thankful for their gifts etc, but its kinda weird when you think about it because theyre strangers to him lol. i would def feel soo awkward
He has actually talked before about how nervous he gets when he´s going to meet fans and stuff like that. It´s a weird and awkward situation and you can see how uncomfortable he is, he still does it tho, for his fans, to give people an opportunity to meet him and have a hug, picture and a quick chat. That is caring

I own OTTBs, so I'm used to horses being on the muscle. Emporio seemed to have a certain grace with his tension - elegant, actually - that I don't typically see with my breed preference. His neck is goals, too! I'm slowly coming to love the PRE.

my pony wasn't either, he enjoyed jumping when we did it for fun, but hated doing it in competitions, he's just more of a field and forest pony lol
