I've groomed for stables like this. We were a team of 6 with 2 grooms dedicated to the 2 main riders, everyone cleaned stalls in the morning. 3 of the people were mainly exercise riders and then one person to take care of the outdoor horses and stuff. We had a landscaper come in twice a week to cut grass, do gardens and tend the rings and arena. But the main riders would also take turn harrowing. That's a pretty common thing in Europe. The riders are more involved than north american pros.

horseauthority.co/patrik-kittel-reignites-rollkur-controversy-at-olympics/ --> if you look at this, at least in 2012 he had not learned how bad rollkur is. Yes maybe he did not know how harmful rollkur really is, but could anyone who really loves and cares about horses ever think that the rollkur posture was okay for the horse?! And just put the blue tongue back into the horse's mouth without changing anything about the riding and the pressure afterwards? All the foam around the mouth, the look in the horse's eyes and the tension in the body (swishing of the tail) should have told him that his horse was suffering, without having the scientific proof that rollkur is harmful and without it being banned by the FEI!!! Beautiful stables but I doubt that he loves horses more than profit and money.

I'm in awe. What a house! I usually feel like I wouldn't want to live at these big famous equestrians' stables because it often doesn't look cozy but this place it the perfect mix of modern and country style. I love how it still looks like a place with a history, buildings that tell a story.
Patrik, I and I'm sure many others, challenge you to ride with a neckrope on video! I think it would be amazing to see you figure out how to ride a horse without bridle with your dressage skills. It could be a very beautiful moment.

In my experience, most dressage riders don't like Iberian horses (at least here in Sweden). Something about the fact that many trott like "sowing machines" (short and high). I don't agree.... The one thing I still don't get is that they have so much room and money to spend, why not make the horses stables 5 times bigger with a paddock attached to every stable. Horses would like that way more then all the fancy stuff.

First thought: wow they keep horses in small boxes still how small minded I expected more from Olympians... they made it like a hotel nice for humans but not for the horses. The horses don’t care about lights on the shampoo....... a paddock or living in a herd with running space would have been nice

They do show paddocks at one point but as show horses they don't generally get put in with each other, just next to each other. They were probably mostly inside for the video, with staff antsy to get them out just around the corner out of sight.

That in itself is indicitive of exceptionalism, which is precisely how he is living his dream. (Love the rubber duck, just priceless.) If anyone considers this as opulence, then they are ignoring the pressures of mortgages, wages and upkeep. This is an enormous enterprise and it is just as fragile as it is magnificent.
