Wow. You have shown us how some of the small things about Maya can make a big difference. Getting animated textures to work is not very straight forward as you would think and simply changing my lambert settings to use "file" instead of the "movie" selection made all the difference in the world. what if they are just 2 maps ( displacement ) and i want to animate back and forth between them , i wouldn't be able to use the ( image sequence ) technique nor import it as an MPEG file like shown in the tutorial . what should i do ? Thanks .
So you have to prepare the image sequence that u want first then asign to model set to use image sequence right. how to change the speed and which software that you using for draw image sequence !? Thanks
Hi. I have a problem when I put "Use images secuence" appear a text saying the fli don´t exist. And dont show me my sprite animation. Whitch could be the problem?
I had this same problem just figured it out. Where it says "image number" under use image sequence for some reason maya automatically sets that expression to to 77. right click and just delete that expression because you may not have 77 frames in your animation (thats why it claims it doesnt exist, its looking for that number of frames). then you can just input the number of each frame and key frame it through there

Tried it with Maya 2018 and 2020, but the option to use image sequence isn't there. Any suggestions?
