When you splice cables, it’s a good idea to make the wires connect at different points, that is, on each end cut a short, medium, and long wire, with opposite lengths on the other side. Then, even if the insulation wrapping fails, the bare connections will not be next to each other. In addition, the joint area will not be as thick.
I bought a milwalkee 12v inflator specifically for fill my bladder tanks, hose threads in like a cap , preasure is set and shuts off when reached and current presure is also displayed, small enough to fit in my bucket and easy to move around ... works like a champ
Enjoyed the long form for this video. (Enjoy the edited videos as well) Did not see what vulcanizing tape you were using for the well to cable splices but 3M Scotch 130C tape is what we used for vulcanizing tape for splicing underground conductors at the power company. It is sold at Home Depot and is available on Amazon. 130C is the same tape as the 3M Scotch 23 tape except the 130C tape does not include a polyethylene liner to remove from each piece of tape. Happy holidays.
I didn’t get to see it live, but I watched every minute. I love watching you work. Watching from Muskogee, Oklahoma. Will the blue pitless cover ring fit over a collar? Or leave 2” of new casing above the collar? Keep up the good work!
Great video….I didn’t see it live, but the replay seems like it’s live. Even though I understand wells and troubleshooting them real well (no pun intended), I enjoy watching your unedited work from start to finish
This might be my 2nd comment . My friend has a well with a filter on the main line . She got to the point where it just had to be replaced every month . I looked at the inside plumbing, tank is fine but I adjusted the pressure due to a change in the switch . Her well is over 20 years old . I replaced the faucet aireators due to chunks blocking the flow . I suggested replacing the pipe in the ground and maybe the pump , I’m thinking there might be galvanized fittings down there due to rust . I did a neighborhood survey on well water , everyone said the same thing rust in the water ( neighborhood is on a lake ) , each well is down 120’ . Even new wells under 9 years have rust . I’m thinking drill Deeper to get better quality water
❤ I missed the live but while for me I know most but it was well worth the time spent !! Because this old dog learned something new !! An for them that doesn’t know all that much?? It’s a great teaching experience.. plus the biggest thing is most folks don’t understand all the problems one can get into ( just like if that rope balls up ??) it can turn into hours of nightmares getting. The pump out!! But I never give it a thought on the farm 6” PVC casing sticking out of the ground 18 inches. An been in the open for 12 years.. it’s not as yellow as that one but I’m thinking I might toss a 5 gallon bucket over it 😂 preserve what oil is left in the PVC 👍 38.2 this morning in southern Michigan I love this weather but snow will come and we probably will pay for this unusual beautiful 50~ 60° days😮😮 ( edit fur a spell boo boo )
We had several kids get shocked to death at Lake of the Ozarks about 10 years age from broken wires contacting the docks and the kids were swimming and touched the dock.
I know I missed the live episode, but to be honest it's nice to see the true to life version of what really happens when you have to find a fault. I do hope you do more like these in the future. By the way I'm from Manchester UK.
I watch your channel from Spokane, Washington. I love your ability to diagnose the particular problem and the craftsmanship you put into all aspects of of the job each time
Greetings from Oregon. Never heard of pitless adapter, had to look it up. Slide type must be super strong from amount of force with tee handle. Why not a little lube ? Good to see how you get er done.
Good day. Thank you for all your information. I learned a lot from your videos. Built my own wheels and pole for the pitless. Worked awesome. Continue you watch your work. Thanks again. Don Malchow from Quesnel British Columbia Canada
So you didn’t run the hose to the well to recirculate the chlorine you added? Did you suggest they do that? Thank you for the extra effort to share your experience with us.

Thanks! I need your help, I’m helping a friend, I installed a new deep well pump 220 volt in a new well approximately 8-10 years ago. They recently tore their trailer down and bought a new trailer so the pump sat for a year. It’s now back in service and what’s happening is the pump comes on and the pressure drops to 0 for a brief second then it slowly builds pressure up to 60 pounds but it takes 4 minutes to do it. I unhooked the line and turned the pump on and it pumped 2 gallons in 6 seconds into a bucket, I checked the check valve, I replaced the pressure switch since I had an extra and it still pumps very slowly. Is the pump going bad or is there a broken line? A contractor did add an underground elbow and extended the pipe 15 feet. The well is 300 feet deep, the pump is down probably 100 - 150 feet, I don’t remember. We also checked for 220 at the pressure switch. Any help is appreciated and I’ll pay you for your time.
@toddwilson1599 make sure your tank has the correct air pressure in it . Second, if its taking a while to build pressure, it's probably just a wore out pump. Id also make sure the nipple below the pressure switch is not clogged up with rust, make sure its clean! If you do pull out the pump, inspect the wire carefully!
I lost power in my home, I changed the pressure switch, it has air, in the gauge on the line is in zero so i dont have any pressure do I have to change the well pump?
@chrisgalliher497 400ft is typically it's limit, but rating on psi id say 360ft. The static water level is more important though. If your static level is below 120+ft you shouldn't use black roll pipe. Took much weight over long extended time period will cause it to stretch
I'm curious....You didn''t want to replace the corroded nipple because it my run up the bill. Did You go and tell the homeowner You were replacing the pump, wire, poly hose, etc...?
Thx for sharing, even i was to late to see it live, fun to watch….. only one remark about your comment “leave the site cleaner then you found it”, good practice! But next time do it also under the house …. Lots of old switch parts etc. 🫣
Always, always, always wrap the wire in the same direction as the screw tightens.
Farmer from Michigan here...enjoy your videos. Confirms or reteaches me what I thought I knew about wells. Thanks for info.
Loved this! Would like to see more like it!
I'm watching post-live from Siargao Island, Philippines 🇵🇭.

Imagine living near those barking dogs They wouldn’t last long near me From Australia
Doesn't matter where you live, constant barking dogs like that would have to go one way or another.

Hi from Alabama I really like your videos I wish I had these when I had a well
Straight up calling an hour 35 for the time it would take to finish. Impressive knowledge of your work flow.

Good educational video. Thanks

Could you use a jet pump or is the well too deep?

Pure water doesn't conduct electricity. The way they check how pure water is off RO systems is by how much resistance is measured.
Hi from Ireland looking for ideas fix my watee
I lost power in my home, I changed the pressure switch, it has air, in the gauge on the line is in zero so i dont have any pressure do I have to change the well pump?
At what depth should you switch from black roll pipe over to pvc pipe? Or does it even mater?

Why did it seem like they used thin wall casing anyway?
No check valve at the pump?
@@CajunManCooks only once I go past 300ft do I deam it necessary
What would something like that cost? New pump new wire hose service call?
@1:17:30 He tells the customer $1997. I'm assuming he gave them the options earlier................ I bet that's a lot of money for the customer.
I was expecting to see you turn the water off to the house and open the hose valve to get all the nasty stuff out of the system.
I'm curious....You didn''t want to replace the corroded nipple because it my run up the bill. Did You go and tell the homeowner You were replacing the pump, wire, poly hose, etc...?
They already had the expectation of replacing the pump, they said someone else had replaced the tank earlier. I had a estimate to stay on or below
I couldn’t see where the pipe on the pump got tot to the house.
I watched the entire video and I didn’t: see it.
