All of Bengaluru is not flooded. If you look at areas built after the year 2000, BBMP has given in to land sharks who have built techparks and apartments on lake bodies on outer ring road. It is the sarjapur outer ring road area that is flooded. Mahadevura, whitefield area and HSR Layout. The remaining Parts of Bangalore have an efficient drainage system. The government and the BBMP has to be held accountable for allowing these constructions.

Recently developed areas due to rapid urbanization are only affected...Older Bangalore which was built by our great kempegowda is still unaffected....The Magical charm of Bengaluru can't be taken away...Hope authorities buckle up and work on these affected areas ..

Going further the solution would be close more lakes, cut down any remaining trees and build apartments and IT parks instead. That should solve Bangalore's problem. Also if there are any good roads left they need to be dug up and shabbily closed as well. BBMP and BWSSB can go on a vacation since they are already not planning anything and development is just happening in a haphazard manner.

Do you know it floods even in Silicon Valley, California, USA ?
In august thousands of cars were washed away on flash floods in California with 42 mm rain and (Bengaluru Whitefields received nearly 221 mm yesterday)
Never seen any one curse it as Hopeless SILICON VALLEY
I have homes in both Hyderabad and Bengaluru
And in Hyderabad it floods even when it rains for 5 minutes
Never saw anyone calling it Ghante Ka Cyberabad
It floods every year in mumbai.
Once I remember Amitabh saying that he lost all his Bentleys Rolls-Royces in flood
Never seen anyone say Hopeless economic capital
It floods every year in chennai, even in Kerala which never used to flood earlier
Never seen anyone say Ghante ka gods own country
And Delhi - Well forget flooding the air itself is so polluted that your life expectancy will go down by ten years if you live there
No one said GHANTE KA Capital
Every metro has its own problems
You can always complain about infrastructure, corruption, land grabbing, building over the lakes and pollution
But how good it is to curse a city like this ? Well we should complain about infrastructure and our problems and highlight them to authorities
But you don’t hurt the brand of a city or a country like this
This is like calling India as r@pe capital after Nirbhaya or Urduwood or Hollywood making poverty p0rn movies to hurt brand India to showcase our country as poor slum rather than showing that along with poverty there is worlds fastest growing economy also
This is an agenda rather than real grievance
Twitter is flooded with such sick messages today cursing Bengaluru the best Metro to live in India today by any measure
Weather, jobs, safety, acceptance, cosmopolitan culture, night life, education, health
Except for traffic any parameter it is best
And in Bengaluru it floods when there is a cloud burst like yesterday or heavy rains like this season where Bengaluru got 1000 mm rain the highest in last 30 years
Yes thousands of acres of land grabbing has happened in Bengaluru like in any other metro
    Lake have become multistoried buildings
But didn’t all of us enjoy when our real estate prices go up ? Didn’t we all convert family homes in Indira Nagar, Koramangala, LAVELLE road into Commercial building and become millionaires ?
Didn’t we all enjoy benefits of IT hub when millions came to Bengaluru and increases rents, commercial spaces and revenue
With all this comes floods, traffic and pollution
That is how the game is
You can’t get only positive things with development
    You get negative also
Today all those who came here made money, live and thrive in a safe accepting welcoming city are saying
    Hopeless Bengaluru.

Oh god, another person who believes if something is wrong in America it should be wrong here as well. I don't understand this race to the bottom.
So if Silicon Valley was developed without planning we should do this is India too. These floods are not due to rain. This is due to natural water channels getting blocked. This is our fault. Don't justify this by saying this happens in America too.

      - We blamed our Govt Officials, City Planning, State government (at that time)
      - Received food packets and ate , some insurance, Media debates
      - Again new Films released and IPL, We got busy watching those and fucked up.
      - Politicians received lumpsum from Central and got new estates, Islands, private jets
      Technically it is called

      Just think. Think deeply.
      .
Had the govt of your hometown, home state......taken adequate care of your cities, then you would be working there not here. So blame your inefficient govt and not karnataka govt.
      .
Bangalore has at least 30 lakh people from Bihar bengal, Up, assam, mizoram, tripura, nagaland, arunanchal pradesh.
      .
Add another 60 Lakh population from Telangana, Andhrapradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala.
      .
Then another 30 Lakh Gujjus, Marwadis, Maharashtrians, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi guys.
      .
So out of 1.5-2.0 crore population of Bangalore, actually Kannadigas are less than 20%. Now out of that sma population, 70% of them are the original settlers like me who were born here and have heritage since centuries.
      .
Out of the people from other states pouring into Bangalore, actually 90% of them are low grade, classless blue collar, mazdoor kind of people. Not white collared people like us. Though it seems they work in MNC, IT Companies but actually when we go deeper they are classless, mannerless and Sameless people.
      .
All because their inefficient govt, these hopeless fit for nothing people come to destroy Bangalore as if in the world only Bangalore is the place where they can live.
      .
If they really meant that they loved your soil then they should have left Bangalore and develop their places, not blame our place. We did not go to their house and called them. They came to live here.
      .
I am a IT Engineer and working in a very big MNC.
If I want I can go anywhere in the world be it US, AUSTRALIA, CANADA, EUROPE, UK, MIDDLE EAST CHINA, JAPAN...Anywhere. I have 20 years of professional experience. But I will stay where I was born and that is Bangalore. I love my soil.
      .
But outsiders here don't love their soil. That is why they live in Bangalore as liability yo us.
      .
I don't want to be a outsider in other places. I don't want to live shamelessly in other places. But these people live like that. Yes... S h a m e l e s s.
      .
These Shsmeless guys want to live here licking Bangalore soil for 2 times food.

Clouds are gone, and so is the urgency. Felt happy to hear the words like “Merciless” from the government to remove the encroachments against the lakes & canals which were mainly responsible for the inundation of many housing societies and main roads in the IT sector.
Please note that I’m not against Karnataka or Bangalore which has given us many opportunities for us to grow and survive. I’m against the government authorities like BBMP, BWSWB, and Minor Irrigation Departments which are playing the musical chairs game and not even moving an inch in removing the encroachments even after this biggest disaster. I’ve not heard of a single encroachment which is removed even after this big rain and again waiting for the next biggest disaster to happen. It's easy to blame the homeowner who bought the home 1Km away from the canal, but we shall leave the land mafia who encroached on the lake or canal and are responsible for the same home flooding.
We shall bulldoze the buildings at a day’s notice saying criminal records, but we keep silent on these lake encroachments which happened around the lakes in Bangalore even after this biggest disaster. Why these Double Standards in a Double Engine Government? It's time to act and publish the list of encroachments and remove them within 100 days, or Else we shall be in the news again for the wrong reasons.

Old Bangalore is on a ridge with layers , as you come towards the outer Bangalore , where the IT parks are constructed , it's relatively low and flat .
All the rains that falls in old Bangalore , because of the concretization of the central city and BDA themselves filling up lakes developing BDA layouts like JP nagar , Rajaji nagar , Domlur , Majestic Busstand, Kanteerva stadium etc , rain water from central Bangalore too comes through the HC valley and connects with KC valley which is the outer Bangalore , Bellandur, Varathur area .
Added to this BBMP giving permission to tech parks and apartments structures to be built on outer Bangalore again on lakes and blocking the drains .
Old Bangalore is on a ridge , so water will flow fast to outer Bangalore , even though many lakes are filled for projects.
Outer Bangalore is flat and low lying , lakes are encroached and drains are blocked...
    Water will be on roads!!!!
Water from KC valley finally reached Dakshina pinakani river and causing even the near by village Mugalur to be flooded , where there is no development .

They closed all lakes and cemented it and built buildings for money.. They didn't plan alternates. Where is the place for the water to go ??? Pull up all the previous records. Put those people who approved all these decades ago on lake beds behind bars. IT-BT sectors have no right to talk about their losses. They also wanted to make money, paid extra, they were ok to close all those lake beds and build buildings because they wanted to make money. And threatening letters of leaving Bengaluru is hilarious 🤣 They should just get out and it would probably be for the betterment of the city. Bloody hypocrites. Govt had announced 'work from home' until dec 2022.. Did these morons follow it? Why should anyone show them sympathy? When they made crores and crores of rupees did they cry? Now they're crying because it incurred a loss of 225 cr. Why should a tax payer bear that cost? Have these IT BT sectors thought about the situation of a common people on streets? I'd rather have the tax payer's money spent on poor people than these multinational companies.

Bengaluru Rains are nothing compared to rains in Kolkata and Mumbai. They recieve heavy rainfall every year and get waterlogged. However, water receeds in few hours. Moreover, they still rely on that old, dilapidated British drains. But see, Bengaluru though beingba new IT city, floods so fast even if it has rains than one of the major cities in the country. Sometimes I am compelled to think that present politicians are more corrupt than Britishers

Nature's Fury is the reason for flooding that bangloreans never expected. But the flood water have no way to go as there are no storm water drainage s or rivers that can lead water to nowhere.ln Mumbai also mansoon play havoc every year but good drainage sy stem leads water to arrabian sea and in waterlogged Chennai during November December mansoon play havoc but storm water drainage & cuvam Adyar rivers help to reduce leading flood water to bay of Bengal. But how flood water in banglore may reduce? It Will take time as only sun can help.

Think deeply outsiders..... Yes you MOHAJIRS.

Why the hell should all companies have to set up their facility in the same city...and the industry knows very well the most skilled resources are not natively belong to this city.
It is sheer herd mentality and resources also flocking from all corners of our country.
It was a trend in 1980 when the industry was in infant stage...companies were setting up their offices in Bangalore to make the customer feel pleasant. Now the condition is not necessarily to be so, when the whole world has successfully crossed two calendar years smoothly by encouraging Work From Home, Why should the public suffer by crowding at one place unnecessarily and traveling hours to reach the office and return home?
It is the time to rethink and take decisions to allow the resources to work from home.
We should understand these natural disasters are going to be part of everyone's life and ofcourse our government is not going to do the governance to mitigate the risk of overcoming such critical situations.
Of course industries mostly concentrate in one place because of availability of raw materials, and access to other nfrastructure like ports, etc...but IT industry need not undergo any such specific requirements unless the resources stay connected thru internet.
This calamity in Bangalore is very good lesson to all employers because the Bangalore was a pleasant experience once upon a time, but after occupying 220 square kms around the original Bangalore city, we have ripped all the pleasure and left with concrete jungles replacing the farm land and agriculture.
When the leaders like Infy, TCS,WIPRO, IBM and ACCENTURE, take good decision the others will also follow if it is a mutually a good decision for employees as well as employers.
Let's do our part to minimize carbon emissions by avoiding never ending traffic in IRRs, ORRs and all ITcorridors.

These elected representatives just pass the buck and say they have encroached ! Wat are you doing as an elected representative man ? Go inspect and demolish ! To reduce the the time should make it 90' by 20' kaluve all lake to lake conection through out Bangalore
But what I notice only fifteen by 10 ' kaluve they are making now i inside recently done up lake rejuvenation work I am talking about only 3*3 km but hebbal , vishwabarathi and belandur should consider 5 times of that discharge to avoid water logging

Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink
Bangalore in the recent torrent of rain did sink
Once, a garden city, this city has begun to stink
The politicians without remorse away did slink.
The Rajakaluves that did drain the city’s rainwater
Their encroachment has caused a terrible disaster
While boats sail on the rivers and ships sail on the seas
Bangalore with boats on the rainwater looked like Venice
A stitch in time will save nine, it was once wisely said
Procrastination is the thief of time is a saying widely spread
That this disaster will soon be upon us, we had been forewarned
Like the soothsayer’s warning on the Ides of March, this warning was scorned
Hush, in the Tower of Babel, that Bangalore has now become
With each one loudly blaming the other, wonder what will be the outcome
A solution carefully thought out, and diligently should be found
A solution free from bigotry and ego if we can with dedication look around.
Bangalore was and will continue to be our country’s garden city
With parks and gardens filled with flowers, its citizens living placidly
It should become a Pensioners’ Paradise once again
Where culturally the East has met the West, an oft repeated refrain.
    JAYASHEKAR GANAPATHY

Firstly, ppl who come from other parts of the country and get settled in Bangalore must stop complaining.
You ppl have been working from home from the past 2yrs. When the government had issued a yellow alert and requested ppl not to step out. Why are you ppl stepping out and adding to the chaos when you have wfh option. It's coz of your stupidity u ppl suffered just to show how cool ur so, don't blame our Bangalore City for it.
Was Mumbai prepared for the floods? No! Was Chennai prepared for the floods? No! It's so unfair when ppl talk BS when Bangalore got flooded. When Mumbai was flooded everyone including ppl from Bangalore where like - Pray for Mumbai and we also did charity to help Mumbai ppl. Same goes with Chennai. The record breaking rains that we had in Bangalore no government could have done anything about it. Firstly, ppl who are not from Bangalore don't follow the instructions given by the government and blame it on the city and the government.
When you ppl move to Bangalore what are you doing? Don't you have any responsibility towards the city from which you're earing your bread and butter? You guys move her pollute the city, create chaos and blame it on the City. Wow! How fair is it?
It's really pathetic. Firstly the areas that where flooded are not even part of Blr. They are the outskirts of Blr. These areas are over populated by mostly ppl who come from outside Blr and keep bad mouthing about Blr. Go back to where you came from and everything will get back to normal. We will have no pollution, cleaner Blr, and NO HEAVY TRAFFIC. The heavy traffic is mostly coz of the Ppl who are not from Blr and keep complaining about Blr traffic. We hardly have ppl who are actually from Bangalore living in Bangalore. To accomodate you ppl more and more illegal houses and apartments are being constructed in Blr. You ppl are killing Blr day by day. 🙏 Please go back to where you came from. Let Blr breathe.
Now this also they will start debating. They will say there is nothing as ppl from Bangalore. To ppl like those i want to make it clear I'm referring to ppl who's great great great grandfathers have been living in Bangalore not the history of Bangalore or India. Coz u ppl will drag everybody here from Dravidians to cholas who have nothing to do with what I'm trying to put across. Which is pathetic!

Forget about appreciating nobody is asking them to appreciate. As nobody asked for their validation. But atleast don't disrespect the city from which you're earning your living.
What I said was the truth. That's what is happening in Bangalore. Do you think these ppl didn't know that South Bangalore was water logged? Before Ganesh Chaturthi itself government had issued a yellow alert in Bangalore and had requested ppl not to step out. These ppl had wfh option still they stepped out and they suffered on that they started posting videos and criticizing Bangalore.
The areas which are water logged are filled with mostly ppl like them who come from outside Bangalore. To meet the demands of growing population government started new development projects due to which the rain water got logged.
Now you tell me who is at fault? Anybody would get mad at such ppl.
