Wow! This is the perfect video for me, I’m vegan too and I want to go to UBC! I’ve watched all your UBC videos and they are so helpful, thank you!! I was wondering how manageable it is to be vegan on the meal plan at UBC? Are there enough options?
Hi! So glad to hear the videos are helpful! I wasn’t vegan in first year which is when I had a meal plan. From the people I talked to that were, they said the options were a little bit limited. I think they have introduced more vegan options just because there are a lot of people that are vegan. They also change up the food items every now and then so there is some variety but overall fewer choices. Hope that helps!
I love food so much, ngl ever since I got my acceptance iv been wondering what ill eat or how ill budget so, thank you for this. also I wanted to ask if I stay in residence where I don't have a kitchen, what are my alternatives?
Food is pretty awesome haha glad you enjoyed! No first year residence has a kitchen and you are required to get a meal plan. There isn't a way around it unfortunately but even if there was, you still would have no way of making food.
Hi. I just have a question about UBC and my friend is considering to go there and she is wondering if there are black people that go there because she is black. And she is wondering if there are racist people that will attack her.
Hi! There are many people from very diverse backgrounds, including people of colour. I personally have not witnessed anything like that. The unfortunate reality is that wherever you go there may be racist people, but UBC has a strong, supportive community and has no tolerance for such behaviour. I can't say what her experience will be like, but I hope she would find comfort knowing there are far more people in alliance with her community that will support her in her journey at UBC!
@@MaddyA Hi! Thanks a lot this will help her so much, and is there a way to choose the residence you want to live in as a freshman? Or is it already selected for you?
@@s.t106 I am glad to hear :) You can rank your preferences, but it is not guaranteed you will get exactly what you want. They do their best but there are a lot of first year students that apply for housing!
Heyy ,great videos on ubc ,I have a doubt regarding joining and was hoping you could help, So the thing is i am now studying at langara CEA under a 2 year postgraduate diploma program And i will complete it in next January And i am thinking of joining ubc under a undergraduate degree. Program after i receive my pr as i reduces the tuition fee but it might take 2 years from now as i have to get my pgwp and pr by that time ill be 22-23 in respective of age. So will i be an matured student? But when i read the description it mentioned that if we do not study prior four years we will be declared as a matured student. But according to my situation I will only not be reading for 2 years because I’ll work please help me out thank you!
Hi! I am glad you enjoy them! I am not totally sure I will be able to help you here. I would recommend reaching out to UBC admissions/enrolment services and see what they say!
