i’ve lived in Southeast Asia my whole life and i get cold from light breeze so preparing for the Vancouver weather is one of the more daunting things about UBC - this was SUPER helpful!
Hey Maddy! I'm an international student and I'm starting at UBC this fall at year 2. Your videos are so much fun an it really helped me with my essays. It's entirely your videos that got me admission at UBC science. THANK YOU! Oh and I've never seen snow before so thanks for the tips.
this was so helpful, i was literally just thinking about what type of coat i should buy. thank you!! currently trying to decide whether to get a short puffer coat or a longer one that covers my thighs..... wondering if it’s cold enough to need that extra length
Yay I am glad! I personally like long ones that cover my butt... that way if you have sit outside your butt doesn't get as wet/cold. I also just run really cold so having the extra length is great. Then again its completely up to you!
Hi! Super helpful video, I’m moving the UBC in five days from Winnipeg. I was wonder if you know the name or link to your jacket? I’m looking for a warm, waterproof jacket online but I don’t know what’s best
Hey, I am going to be a first year student this september and just wanted to say your videos helped me 100%. Soo, thank you :)). Also, could you drop the same of the boots, like the brands. Thanks
Hey! My boots are blundstones! Literally my favourite😁 I can't remember exactly which ones I got but I think these are them: www.blundstone.ca/collections/womens-series/products/blundstone-1351-rustic-brown
hey maddy! not sure if you remember but we had a zoom call over summer break - when you were holding mini sessions about what to expect for UBC🤍 I GOT ADMITTED INTO FAC OF ARTS🤩 hopefully we can see each other in campus ahhh
Hi Maddy! I'll be flying to Canada this December and I just wanted to know like is it normal to wear the same coat everyday at school throughout the winter season? Coats are very expensive and I don't have the luxury to buy tons of them. This question is so random but I wish you can answer me. Greetings from Indonesia 💚
Hi lizzie! Yes it is totally normal to wear the same coat everyday! Be sure to invest in a good one 😊I only have a couple good winter coats that I switch between and it is totally fine!
@@xo7454 Because it's damp cold here. The cold seeps to the bones, so any thick thermal water resistant jackets are an absolute must here in Vancouver! And Parkas are super warm so they're a go to for most people here. Myself included. :)

@@amyliao5704 AMAZING!! I hope to see you around!!
OMG AMY
hii, which backpack would you recommend for ubc classes, given the weather?
Any backpack does the trick! what some people do is buy a rain cover for their bag for extra wet days!

This is an Ottawa spring, lol
huh? oh my i would not survive 😅
I'm from Alberta... I'm confused why people are wearing parkas in Vancouver. 😂 I don't pull out my parka until we're below -20C.

Hi Maddy I’ll be moving to Vancouver on Feb 2022 would love to connect sometime !
So I just bought 3 rain coats that cover the thighs, 2 Hunter rain boots, and Vessi shoes... before I saw this.
Holy moly yah you're more than prepared!
@@MaddyA I'm used to the sunny, cold, snowy winters... I'm scared of the cold rain. Hahahaha.
Valid haha Vancouver is extra special that way!!
