  • Today, for the channels first video, we will be tackling the Trader Vics Grog. I thought that this would be a perfect drink to start off my Tropical Escape Series. Since its brutal winter up north and down here in the south, we are having heat spells, I figured a tropical drink would be a perfect start to the channel.
    Trader Vic's Grog
    3/4oz Lemon Juice
    1oz Pineapple Juice
    1oz Passionfruit Syrup
    1.5oz Jamaican Rum (Appleton 12)
    .5oz Overproof Rum (Plantation OFTD)
    3 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Build all ingredients in a shaker tin. Fill tin with a small scoop of crushed or pebble ice and whip shake. Roll all ingredients into a pilsner glass and fill glass with rest of the way with pebble/crushed ice. Garnish with a mint spring.

I like what you are doing. However I keep thinking “Get to it!” So for me, less preamble would be great.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback and yeah this was actually my first video. I have 4 out now and one coming out at 3pm CT today. I have been working on condensing the videos. Checkout my Maxs Mistake Video and Paloma video. I would love to hear your feedback on those as well

Looks like a Hurricane with a little pineapple juice. Sounds good.

Thats what it is basically haha but with also with the spice from the bitters. The Pineapple really balances out that passionfruit as well, Definitely worth a try in my book

Pilsner glass is bad for beer, but it's not a bad glass. Funny how beer gave us so many useful glassware that is silly with beers. Looking at you toddy glass with handle.

I will continue to use bottled lemon/lime juices. It's cheaper, has a longer shelf life, and is more convenient. I do not detect a change in flavour.
