I have an Asus N550 laptop which was released in early 2014 and I can run Satisfactory on Ultra for all settings. Not sure why or how this works but apparently UE5 is very friendly with old tech. The very slight lag is completely tolerable. Weird, huh?
BTW - it's my experience that Creative mode completely destroys the gaming experience as motivation is severely deflated as a result of having everything
I think the Turbofuel Jetpack will be better for general use stuff and exploring, and the Liquid Biofuel Jetpack will be good for Jetpacking over large amount of horizontal distance in the air, which will be especially useful if ya are starting that Jetpacking already being high in the air to start with.

So glad I'm not the only one that reacts like that around any spider in this game... not aracno irl but these send me into panic mode 90% of the time.
One of the more important changes with lumen: signs cast actual light.
So you can neon-cyberpunk your factory to the nines!
You can now disable spiders completely. No spiders anymore in the game with this little optiob they added. So that means the red forest would actually be the most safest biom

18:22 I mean you can. Signs using a similar green hue like your red lights.
With Lumen/RT, you can stick some green signs tucked away behind buildings and have the light bounce, causing the buildings to glow in the color of the light. No radioactivity required.
Seeing all the new stuff in Update 8 makes this the most entertaining Satisfactory episode to date. Especially the priority power switch and power towers. This was also the episode where I heard more screams of terror from Kibitz than in any episode before that you’d think he’s arachnophobic. I’m looking forward to seeing a revamping of the power structure in this series. It’s obviously a good idea to group all your power generation into the Priority 1 slot while grouping your most and least important factories accordingly within the bottom 7 priority slots.

8:20 Liquid Biofueld = preferred to make hyper tube cannons even better. You don't need a super angle anymore and might be able to cut down the size a little bit as well in favor of coasting with the jetpack.
It's hilarious how Kibz can go from exploding fart rocks and laughing, to looking at spiders and crying in an instant
In the feature video for the release, he showed how you can create a platform power tower, then create another and zipline across the wires even before the tower appears, and continue doing so so you can set up long power lines without having to slow down.
This looks insane. I can’t wait to get to oil on my new save I started for Update 8. Thanks for the show off Kibitz, it looks incredibly detailed. The lighting is superb. I haven’t played much of it but the way your factories look with no lighting remind me of Dead Space. Very spooky
The devs said that they don't plan to fully implement lumen, it's more of a "Photo Mode" type feature
Which is a damn shame. Because it could be super good. As it it's very poorly implemented though =(

@@theorangeheadedfella on several occasions yes. It will neve be an officially supported feature as it's too much work redesigning all the light in the game.

Really curious how the fireworks look with the new lighting update, especially at night!
Since you do such detailed builds, you should do a side by side comparison of lighting so people can see the difference
The liquid biofuel is just too nice! The horizontal distance you can travel is so much greater than the others that after some quick tests of the different fuel types, I practically skipped jetpack turbofuel, and immediately made a little smart-splitter system in like ten minutes that I can dump any creature drops into one bin and have biofuel pop out in the bin next to it... And the production ratios of creature parts to biofuel are high enough that I don't need to go on bear-ass quests for it, just drop the occasional spitter parts in and you get enough fuel to last hours and hours.
Unless Coffee Stain changes jetpack fuel again, I will never look back. c:
more nobelisks have always thrown you higher if you detonate more at once, I recommend using the xeno basher to detonate them all at once

If you hit the pulse pile with a basher you can get the boost from all of them at once
i think they should add lights to all machines (not enough to light the room but enough so you can tell what happening so that if you dont have lights set up your not completly blind + it would probably look cool)
lumen is not (officially) supported (yet) and isnt recommended for general gameplay, however for 1.0 or later i could see that being a great feature, or maybe just a cool idea for a mod
@@joshguide6389 I know but we have a version of it in early update 8 now and I was just making a suggestion that I thought would help the pitch black effect that ruins already built factories, for example it would still be have to add lighting to light up the room but if every machine had a little bit of lighting in some way it would still be dark but would allow the ability to navigate through it, and yes there is a flashlight but I'm sorry but its not the best and I don't want my buildings to feel like a horror movie lol

I've been using packaged biofuel in my jetpack since release, it's great for base building!
Watching you was so intense!!! I really need to up my weapon game. I've been happy with just basic riffle ammo but that so isn't going to cut it anymore. Spiders are so scary!
I do wish the power towers had separate connections for power management reasons. I know priority switches exist, but i haven't fully figured them out, but say I have a fuel plant that runs a few factories and a coal plant for a smaller one, I'd like to be able to keep those fully separated on their own priorities...if possible.
Luckily, I spent a good chunk of time making very bad looking 220v and 240v H-Frames blueprints....so I'm not too annoyed....other than power cable length...

Solid biofuel is kinda nice for when you are exploring and run out of fuel and just need something, Anything, to keep going 😂

I love thjat 13 minute mark! Just thinking we all suave and adventurous, then all the sudden were less than 2 bars of life, jet pack running low and ever place we run has a new horror coming for us! lol
its way to extreme now lol , like being able to destroy fart pillars is amazing , but the nuclear hogs are terrifying to see when your on early game , really its nightmare fuel to see him in early area
It makes sense it's brighter outside than inside, what with moon, star and apparently galaxy light.
Kibitz you might wanna look around the while map because they chanced some rocks and clifs a litle and they also chanced the slugs so they might be more around the map now

Getting to disable the spiders is huge imo. I legit got goosebumps and shivers everytime I came across one of them
blows himself up, and then notices his desert biome lookes like one giant computer chip, are you building a supercomputer factory look for this base, hmm I have questions and maybe predict it, but I love this new update and cant wait to make a full series and see what nice lighting ideas you coming up with next, been subbed for a while, watched all your satisfactory videos and you gave me incredible inspiration to build, keep up the amazing work kibz, and I hope we get to see the final space elevator part made soon.
The bio fuel is perfect for lateral exploration. I wasn't sold on these new fuel mechanics, but I was wrong.

Reactors actually glow a beautiful electric blue and a blue flash is the most terrifying thing to see. I really wish that was the color used for reactors in games
The signs being truly emissive and actually lighting up their immediate surrounding space is really awesome. Even though they can’t be hooked up to master switches like real lights, they also are smaller for easier placement and don’t consume any power, so it’s easy to just spam use them along service corridors or roadways as low-level directional/track lighting. I’ve been asking-really begging-for the devs to give us at least one smaller-than-multiple-foundations-sized light fixtures and this is at least a workable option now.

They also changed the parachute so that it isn't a per-use item. You just use it... you know... to save your butt when you're falling out of the sky XD

you can also use a pulse nobelisk to launch yourself and then throw more in mid-air to continue your momentum
This is just reinforcing my belief that Kibs is THE most Canadian supervillain.
Packaged liquid biofuel is probably the best jetpack fuel just because of the absurd burn time it has. My advice: set up an inventory reclaimer box, so you can dump your whole inventory into it, then have the box feed into a bunch of smart/programmable splitters to pull out all the stuff that can make biofuel and turn it into biofuel, and then it gives you the rest of your stuff back. Then you can go get biofuel supplies, dump your inventory, and go grab a sandwich as it gets everything going. About a stack worth of alien protein will get you all the packaged liquid biofuel you could ever need.

The part about pulse nobelisks already works in update 7 and works better with the xenobasher; you slide jump past a pile of about 5 pulse nobelisks and then attack with the xenobasher and it detonates all of them, sending you flying with minimal damage, and is honestly one of if not the best ways to get around the map

One thing I noticed about conveyor lifts is it is impossible to use them. They never snap to what you are trying to snap them to. It is so bad some people probably consider it a bug similar to how some people have trouble connecting belts. I notice the problem when I stack a storage container and try to link them with conveyor lifts. I am sure that it has driven some people mad trying to play Satisfactory! As nice as it is to see a new game engine the one they were using before seemed to work OK. Maybe they just have to fix the game to work as expected with the new engine. It is still early access too I know.

Ngl the pasta factory looks like a horror game that takes place in a abandon factory where a government was preparing super weapons or biochemical weapons. Looks great tho, can't wait for when I can do more lighting stuff.
12:42 after thousands of hours it’s nice to feel the humbling fear of, “Im gonna die”. Attached with tools to fix any problems, but the problems keep getting worse. The exploding fart rocks is great what came next, the terror that can smell your low health fears.
I'm not even scared of spiders, but I jumped so hard. Then laughed until I cried at your fighting them.
Just a heads up, while Global Illumination (Lumen) has been added, the devs have stated multiple times that it is NOT the default lighting mode and that they will not be supporting it or designing the games lighting around it. If you want to play with it, great! It can be super pretty, but some things will not be lighted the way the devs intended.

You didnt actually test out most of the zipline changes. You only tried out the rightclicking and moving across power towers but never tried using the "sprint" mode on the power towers to go at insane speeds or tried ziplining across powernubs which is also new and with which you can actually make junctions where you go in different directions just by looking in that way.

I can honestly say this is the one game that I miss playing. My computer wasn’t able to run the game after update 5. It’s a great game.
Ever since watching your turbo fuel generator build I have been using it full-time. I have two of them because I was scared to dip a toe into nuclear waste and ruin half my world. I built something like 100+ industrial containers chaining to the back of a cave in no mans land... only to find out I can sink plutonium rods!
This ENTIRE TIME I've been preparing for the apocalypse only to find out I can process it far enough that I dont have to turn it into permanent waste...
It's a trade off (a wonderful trade off). Everywhere is darker but signs can now provide light. Sooo... Factory dark? Slap some signs on the ceiling... on the walls... on the floor... ON THE MACHINES THEMSELVES. Now that you don't have to power lights/etc you can light your factory very very very quickly with signs and it looks hella cool.
I wish I can like your videos more than once at times, you made me laugh when I need it. Thank you. You are awesome Kibitz!
Hey Kibitz. There’s a function under the advanced gameplay to delete the spiders from the game. You can make it so that you never have to see them ever again if you don’t want to.
My habit of putting unnecessary ceiling lights in all my factories is now fully justified!
Kibz are you going to do a cities skylines 2 series? Surellllyyy they'll give you early access to it? Excited to see what you come out with.
The next big indie horror game should just be kibitz's world in permanent night as you explore how massive factories with nothing but a flashlight and a gun to protect you from the creatures of the dark.
