Anyone who has ever animated with iclone UE bridge would have surely thought about these problems you've covered. Thanks for your dedication. One question: At the end of the video you said headshot 2 doesn't let you pick current body. Do you know what body headshot 2 lets you pick, what sources? If its only cc3+ avatars body that can be selected at the end, it begs the question why would anyone need to use headshot 2 on a cc3+ avatar.
I’m not sure I quite understand the question, sorry! Headshot 2 is amazing - it’s the only way to import a head mesh and then add the facial Blendshapes to it. Yes, the big drawback is that you can’t choose a custom body. But that’s because there is currently no way (in any product at all) to convert your own custom body mesh/skeleton to a cc3+ body. It’s unfortunate!
I'm a bit confused. What if I don't want a prefab metahuman and literally want the CC4 character imported AS the metahuman, and then use livelink to animate.
If you want to transfer a cc4 character to unreal and use livelink, that’s easy - just use the CC AUTO SETUP plugin for unreal then use livelink. This video is about if people want to use iClone to drive one of the 18 standard metahuman bodies inside unreal, etc.
Also keep in mind that this video was about UE5.2, and so UE5.3 might be quite different - with the new cc auto setup and livelink that were released last week by Reallusion. Hmmm. I don’t really understand the question, sorry. :( This tutorial is about linking a character inside iClone via livelink to a MetaHuman in Unreal.
I think he is referring to animating the face. Maybe we animate the body in iclone live link, and then we can animate the face in unreal using Metahuman animator? not sure if that would interfere with your workflow shown here , but it would be a nice work around for the facial animation and I think it's superior to iclone's facial animator as it only requires a video of your facial mocap to match it to the metahuman face. Do you think that is possible? @@virtualfilmer
@@BlkAresGaming That’s so weird, the file was there even a month ago! Looks like it’s gone and also the page with descriptions. Sorry about that, I’ll look when I’m next at my computer. Very odd
Ok I've fixed the file - it seems that I'm not allowed to put files on my site in the root directory anymore. So it's now here: virtualfilmer.com/downloads/StyleMarshall_CC4_UE52_LL_Kit.zip
@@virtualfilmeryes... after import, there's some 'IK mismatch warnings' ..it is working, but the final result is weird looking character. Now, It is almost 2 months without update from Reallusion. It's frustrating because this is the easiest way if you want to avoid annoying retargeting. I hope that the update will come soon..
@RichardRiegel I just posted about this in the main official forum (in the ue5 thread) so hopefully we will get more answers soon. I am out of the loop because my day job is intense right now, so I didn’t know this was an issue!!
@@RichardRiegel Now that I think about it, I believe they are releasing new dummies (ie. A new metahuman 5.3 kit) when they release the livelink update for 5.3. Which hopefully will be soon!

Oh no! How complicated it is... There is so much to do and this is just one character. What to do if there are many characters in the scene? My opinion is that all these 12 steps need to be automated. Only who will do it...
Yes , awesome tutorial , clear and easy to understand 👍👍👍
Well done Toby, very clear and precise. I’m going to wrap my Metahuman body dummy to the CC3+ neutral base to be accurate.
Hi Toby,
Great Tutorial, many many Thanks.👍👍👍 Greetings Robert
Thank you very much, Toby 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Every thing working fine, but fingers issue appear, scaling issues. any fix ?
I’m not sure about a way to fix that, sorry :(
Does this work for Unreal Engine 5.3? Primarily I'm asking about the style marshal zip file. Thanks
Same Thing , should work fine
thank you !
DO you know how CC4 character in UE5 use live link face?
Try asking on the reallusion forum - the UE thread can be very helpful. forum.reallusion.com/484244/UE5-Reallusion--Tips-Tricks
@@virtualfilmer Thanks
Can we use metahuman animator for your metahumn character instead of livefaceIclone?
