Another sensible and objective review. Thankyou. I have a Coupe in the same colour but as a manual. It is a great car, reliable and attracts admiring glances. I agree in regards to the speed limiter etc pre 2010 - Renault had a long options list to keep the cost down on the base Dynamique models (c.£20k new in 2009) but after 2010, they conceded and fitted most of the options as standard. I also have a low mileage 2012 Laguna estate GT DCI 180. I have owned and worked on Renault for over 30 years and they have definitely improved with a bigger emphasis on safety and reliability. Many would disagree I am sure.

I used to call the french cars, but I tell you VAG cars are absolutely terrible now, Mercedes had to resort to using using the Renault K9K.
I actually favour the french over most brands now, we have a Grand scenic 3 as works car (done a review on the on another video) had an espace and currently have an old 2.2 HDI 406 and I love it, previously had 2007 Laguna 3 hatch K9K before the DPF come in fantastic cars.
Just odd as most mid spec Clio, Megane, scenic, Laguna all had cruise and this don’t have it, our 2007 Laguna 3 hatch was dynamique had cruise.
Would really like Laguna 3 Eatate GT cracking cars

      @@CarAddictGarageNE Thankyou.
The Laguna GT estate 4ws is fab with just 50k and a great performer too. You are correct in terms of cruise control etc for that era of Coupes but even the keyless locking was an option when curiously, the cheaper Renaults had this. I think that the allure of the base Dynamique would have discouraged folk from buying the fully loaded GT variants hence the options list.
      Best wishes.

Yeah they are good in ways of making you spend extra on options, but I will say the french cars are always good when it comes to standard spec.
Just missed a good deal on a GT estate as well, always on the look out

Great video. I've owned a mk3 2.0dci hatchback since 2016. Its the most reliable car I've ever owned. 149k and still pulls like a train. Original clutch. Just had to have a replacement central locking motor but I'll forgive it that 😆

Honestly best looking car on the market for reasonable money, really can’t beat them cracking cars.
Had them all had very little problems.

Yeah cracking cars, for what they cost I don’t think you can buy much better looking car for the money.
Saying that reliability wise, if looked after the Laguna 3 is not a bad car.
Was tempted by the GT estate, has 4 wheels steer and almost 200bhp not bad for a diesel estate

      @CarsofGlasgow 3 года назад +1

@@CarAddictGarageNE I have read about the 4 wheel steer when I was doing research on the coupe I reviewed. They are quite well built overall and the coupe looks like a C class coupe from the rear

Your video popped on my channel. I have few comments to put as there are few misleading.
There are no cornering lights. I have the same car but higher spec. Renault Laguna 2011 V6 Diesel 235bhp.
Also it is basic version of Laguna coupe. Normally you get cruise control on steering wheel and the button on the side is to switch the cruise control or speed limiter. Of course the lower spec might have different set up.
When it comes to lights, normally they should be automatic but if not most of the time they should be on especially when you drive through the tunnel.
This is one of the basic versions as it doesn't even have sat nav or Bose sound system.
When it comes to start the engine. You don't need to insert the key into the slow and to put ignition on all you have to do is have key in the pocket press once the start button and should switch on ignition. If you want to start the car, it should work when you press and hold brake.
I am not being a person who knows everything, but just based on my own experience and my researches. Overal good review :)

Yes but if you read the description of everyone one of my videos and channel description “quote”
Please don’t hang on my every word, trying to run a garage and record videos, its hard work easy to mix your words up….. try it your self before you criticise.
I run a garage not a sales garage, I am not a Renault specialist, I don’t get paid for this, I’m not sponsored by anyone, I do all this on my own only using my iPhone, I do not have a pre written script of have time to spend hours researching before making a video….. they are free style.
If you want on the button professional reviews there are thousands of videos online or mainstream TV.
I’m just some guy running a garage having a bit fun and banter….. this was one of my very early videos when I first started the channel, so was simply finding my way

@CarAddictGarageNE sorry I didn't mean to criticise your work or be negative. Just pointed few stuff. We all learn about cars etc.... it is one of the cars that not many ppl knows about it. I like the video overal. It was just point of my comment. Especially when you nicely pointed the rear. It does look nice. It has that pure modern Aston Martin look
      😄

I had a 2010 Monaco GP; a lovely car spoilt by an awful engine. Spent more time in the garage than on my drive.

2.0 DCI M9R is one to the best engines Renault made imo, especially pre DPF variants.
Only issues I have seen are because of poor maintenance in the past.
In comparison to for example the Ford 1.0 EcoBoost that’s a very poor engine I will say first hand as I see so many of them with issues.
Is the famous old thing I hear day in day out, someone pulls down a vehicle or engine because of a past experience based on only 1 vehicle, if you had for example owned 10 vehicles with this engine, and every singles one had major issues then yes, it’s fair to say they are “bad” so to speak.
Then again I can totally see anyone’s point of never wanting to own that particular vehicle / engine ever again after a bad experience
