Do you need he purge valve I put back my stock r18 tb and have the weapon r intake manifold and I have the coolant lines and connectors on but one pipe has nothing do I need to put the pcv in it
I tried installing the J35 on my '08 LX coupe, but the car stalls a few seconds after starting. I also had to mount the J35 upside down because there wasn’t enough room to fit the throttle body into the OEM intake manifold. Could the upside-down installation be causing the stalling issue?
@PeterVu-nw4vm upside-down shouldn't cause an issue. It sounds like an air leak to me. Did you seal the idle air control port on the top? The j35 doesn't cover that, and it will need to be filled with RTV
@@ipp2109 I was able to orientate it the right way and yes I think there’s air leaks. I’ll try to think of ways to use a paper gasket but it’ll be tough since the manifold and TB are different shapes
So I know you don't have ownership of this vehicle anymore, But was wondering about your opinion on the Weapon R Intake manifold for a 2013 LX? Mines automatic.. Couldn't find a manual when I went to buy this civic, didn't realize how little mod support there is for this year, Its my favorite body style too so it just sucks, Feel like I shouldve just saved a little more and got a SI
There wasn't too much of a difference, a little better pull in the top end. You need a hondata tuner, though, if you want to do the manifold because it deletes the variable length intake runners.
Ours was an automatic as well. I'm sure if you could find a good tuner who knows Hondas well, you could make some decent power. But unfortunately there isn't much support for the R18 engine with mods
No its not, I think we ended up paying about $80, which seemed like a lot, but it did drive like it was supposed to after. Without the relearn the car will hesitate, idle funny, and have random rpm surges.
My guy, I'd recommend upsizing the maf section of piping, I'm thinking the throttle body upgrade is probably not doing much because that section is still the primary restriction Props for doing this mod though I love to see uncommon mods on r18s 👍
Hello, notice that I did the same but on a 2008 Honda Fit but I have a question which map sensor did you use? that of your civic or the one that wore the throttle body ?. because the car has left me that it accelerates only like 1000 rpm or 500 rpm, and obviously I don't like it
@@yerizone6059 You can still install it on the OEM one if you wanted to. It's a bit easier to install on the weapon R manifold though. Mainly because it's out of the car then.
What throttle body did you get? I am having one hell of a time to fined out If the skunk 2 intake manifold an throttle body will even fit my 2007 honda civic lx 1.8
We had a weapon r intake manifold on ours. The throttle body is a factory honda one. J35 pertains to the engine, so it was from a 3.5l v6. Any of the honda or Acura ones should fit as long as it's electronic throttle
demi god cars well that’s the point, to match the Tb diameter but thanks for the video man, it’s helpful ... I hadn’t seen it to the end where it explains more
How did you get rid of the map sensor j35 throttle body to create the vaccum

Hi there Brother. Say iF you install a j35 on at stock plastic intake manifold . Is it direct plug in. ? Tnx
I think you would have to do similar modifications. Widen the mount holes and put nuts on the back
@@ipp2109 but do you think instead a j35 , SI TB no Need for an adaptor outlet would b almost the same . . Tnx

5:50 Is this "throttle position re-learn" from Honda a free service? Also will they be disappointed by what I have done to my r18 engine?😂

And I don't think they will be disappointed haha. Maybe just a little confused at first
Awesome good to know man👍🏻
What about the connections on the j35 throttle body doesn’t fit one of them fits but the other connector doesn’t
The j35 throttle body we got only had one connector, and it plugged right in, no issues.
@@ipp2109 do you have instagram?
So what all do u be to install the weapon r?
Does a cold air intake made for an r18 fit on the j35 throttle body?
Yes it does. You will need a different silicone coupling to connect to the throttle body though because it's larger in diameter.
where did you get yours from?
Just got it from ebay. Nothing special.
Thanks for your help. I hope to do this soon😁
No codes?

Yeah, that just how the intake came. I was wondering about that too. We sold the car about a year ago now though

It was still running on the oem civic MAF in the intake pipe
demi god cars should I get the the weapon r manifold and then the j35? What do you recommend. I already have a air intake installed

Do you feel it made much of a difference VS the stock throttle body?
Throttle response has improved. Nothing much for power but in sure with a tune it'll be better
Did you have to port the inlet port ?
You don't have to but I did just to make it more open

any power gains?
Slightly better throttle response, but nothing major
