Pro tips. White or orange lights attract bugs. Try cooler colour like green or blue. 😃
I think the warmer lights (orange/red) are less attractive to bugs. The cooler lights are more likely to attract bugs, in my experience.
I think they are attracted to me instead, warm blood hahahaha xD

That's a mint looking LandCruiser. Remember to park on a hill until you get your starter replaced. With the clutch depressed get the car rolling in 1st gear. Once you get to 10-15 mph pop the clutch and the car should start. Also is that an aftermarket K+N type air filter? They tend to cause more troubles than their worth. Go back to stock air filter housing.
Yes, get rid of the K&N filter. It's more problem than its worth. I had one installed in my old Prado, and it is only effective if you keep it oiled regularly. It doesn't work any better than a stock filter, and does not really give any benefit that it claims it is supposed to do.

It sounds like your bendix on your starter motor on its way out. It stops windings from desoldering when the motor starts. It's like a clutch. Take starter out
Desolder the solenoid and clean the bar contact switch, change the bushes, heat up the let them soak in oil. Change bendix. Then you be ok.

A lil' contribution to have the starter motor fix. Also, applying Rain X on the windshield helps when driving in the rain. Drive safe😏

starter motor together with solenoids and Bendix drive gear needs to be serviced cleaned and greased.. you can only tap starteter motor with a hammer if you just hear clicking but not turning this one instance you have is starter is turning over but not enganging the gear properly kindly have it serviced asap to avoid damaging the gear teeth of the flywheel
for emergency road side hack you can try turning key to ON then from positive pole of battery connect a piece of thick wire to the positive thin wire of the solenoid starter..you possibly have a weak connection from the relay if this worked...wires and relays should be replaced..do not worry if you have starter problems since you have a manual transmission just choose a spot you stop with incline r have someone push your car and bump start it

Glad it's fixed temporarily. But need to get it replaced asap ya. How's the stability with the roof top tent? One of the reasons I didn't get it is because of the weight on top and I needed space for solar and water tank.
The roof top tent is stable although this is not the lightest version. Actually you can install the solar panel on top of the rtt?
@treebud139 it's possible to fit a solar panel on top of rtt provided it has a rail built-in at the sides. But it may affect the opening as it will add around 10kg

9:10 - All this knocking is pointless - the starter itself looks to be working fine, but there are signs that its bendix is worn out .. take the starter off, replace the bendix and you're good to go. Bendix is a starter freewheel clutch which is necessary to disconnect the starter once the engine starts ..
Yes, the knocking is just temporarily fixed. We have replaced a new starter as we need to continue our road trip for another 17 days😅
