Beth got it right too, she was thinking of Mount Vesuvius, which is the volcano, and Pompeii is the city that got destroyed by it
😎👍😀
The Nox and the Eternal Cities are so interesting! I will always remember the first time I went to Nokron in the game.
6:11 this is my favorite area in the game. The night sky aesthetic despite the entire area taking place DEEP DEEP underground. i remember that weekend on release week and getting to this part after spending over an hour in the radahn fight and saying "yep this is my favorite game of this year". Took so many screenshots like a tourist while the enemies in the area are trying to kill me lol.
Haha, the area is breathtaking from what little we’ve seen. Can only imagine how it felt playing for the first time 🤩
Great reaction, as ever.
That long, long lift ride down to Siofra River was the stand-out moment of my first playthrough. It just blew my mind seeing that city in the distance, the false night sky, and the music down there. I love the Nox, too. Funky weapons and exquisite fashion.
I'm not sure if I was relieved or disappointed that neither of those giant skeletons came to life and tried to stomp me.
Haha, probably relief while playing and then disappointed after it was over 😜
Really enjoyed this video (and your reactions); I was enthralled by the Nox and made an Astrologer with RP/backstory - Aiyana of Nokron, who was sent to another land to train so when she'd return she could join her sisters as a Swordstress, but ultimately failed and died; Then she learned of the Nox's fate upon her return to the Lands Between, she mourns the fate of her people (even more so when she has to defend herself from them) as she is but a stranger now... Never the less, she wears the armor of her people and wields sorceries of Night and Gravity; the power of the stars! She will become their Night Lord ✊
Kickass backstory 🤩😎🤟
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Thanks :D I generally like to make backstories for all my characters. Got another one called "The Preserver" - a serial killer who collects and keeps the trophies of their kills (in other words, I'm trying to get at least 2x of every weapon, 1x of every armor, every talisman, every spell, etc)
Congrats on 200k, you guys deserve it, love your videos!
Thanks so much!!🥳🤗
Fun fact: asimi, the silver tear in the cut questline, means silver in Greek, I don't know how I didn't notice it when first watching this vid.
44:20 this absolutely. It was more explicit in Dark Souls, as you had characters who came from or went to the dark who described it as the home of Man. Or as a warm and peaceful place, where light won't irritate you. Something akin to death. Ranni describes the stars, moon, night sky, and space, as a dark, mystical, and lonely place (and Astel comes from it so yikes). But so many seek it. 4 civilisations to my count. Astrologers, Caria, Raya Lucaria, Eternal Cities. The sky and moons had a huge purpose before the erdtree! When you go to Raya Lucaria, the university-city of the star reading sorcerers, whenever you would be in a place to get a good look at the moon, the erdtree is blocking it. Physically blocking the view. Tree's got strategies, that's for sure.
Always love when you do Vaati or other FromSowtware related content. And Elden Ring still has so much more to offer 😁
Yes it is very vast so lots to check out 🤩
Yesssssss. These lore reactions are y’all’s best content!
Glad you enjoy them 😀🥳
Fromsoft games very rarely have happy endings. Their worlds are always grim and unforgiving, a lot of characters you meet and quest with will die by the end or they'll go crazy and you are forced to put them out of their misery. The only glimmers of hope are when a new age is spoken of. Maybe if you win, you can change things. More often than not, you just repeat the same mistake.
I love the scenery of the eternal cities can you believe some people say elden rings graphics are bad when sceneries like that exist 😂
I guess it's because of the stylization of the design and the dark, dull color is a reminiscent of that of some older games. It looks old and ancient, which I think was intentional. The graphic itself is great though, it looks quite clean.
Art design is WAY more important than actual good graphics. Some old games that have amazing art design still hold up today.

❤this is definitely definitively the best reaction channel
☺️ 🤗
Nice use of the emojis 🥳🥳
you guys are really fucking charismatic congrats on 200k
Thanks so much for the kind words ☺️🤗🥳
The blessing of despair video by Vaati would be dope to react to - has arguably the most conflicting character we interact with in game!
Death battle normally does podcasts talking about different hypothetical matchups. One time they talked about link from legend of Zelda fighting the tarnished(main character) from elden ring. Now it’s not an actual match but I’d like to see that happen😅😊
Miquella is the most pure hearted and innocent character in Elden Ring. His story is absolutely amazing.
Astel is adept at gravitational sorcery so I assume he used a gravity spell to remove the night sky from the nameless Eternal City.
Well you get to choose who inherits the world, so you get YOUR happy ending. It's just the journey to attain that power to choose is miserable, and you have to kill all opposing powers.
Absolute banger of a reaction here. And just to expose you to some madness, I'm curious how you'd react to dougdoug vs twitch chat...
Really liked your ending statements on this one, love to hear more profound thoughts from reactors!
If you like games with deeper meaning and metaphorical themes on life, politics and individuality with great cinematography, I strongly suggest watching Michael Saba's video game essay on MGSV called "Metal Gear Solid V is a Misunderstood Anti-War Masterpiece". It's about an hour long, but really really worth it IMO. One of the best essays I've ever heard and it explains all the series' games and their hidden meanings in a very compelling way.
Anyway, thanks for all the content and I hope you think about it!
Awesome congrats 🎉 can’t wait for you guys to see the new mortal kombat trailers
Tomorrow 🥳🥳
2 New MK trailers are out now. (Just a reminder :)
Tomorrow 😁
Armoured core 6 fires of rubicon got a story trailer now. Might interest you.
😎👍🙂
That's not a turtle pope. It's rhe dog pope
😎👍🐶
Are you guys going to do the age of the stars video?
When you walk into that room with the tortured statues, you tend to turn around.
Then, you fight the Dragon Knight.
😯
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames FromSoft tends to put at least one area in a game where the horror and terror of SOME event is etched onto the faces of the statues/people.
In DS3, is was in the Profaned Capital. That room was filled with the charred corpses of people killed by the Profaned Flame. The circumstances behind that were DEEPLY tragic.
These rooms cause one to mourn the sense of loss. It’s atmospheric storytelling at its finest.
BTW, ya’ll are a daily view for me.
Love your guys channel and I’d like to see you guys reaction to the for honor outlanders like pirate or ocelotl
Thanks so much. And yes For Honor is a game we need to check out again 😅
good vid as always
YEAHHHH YEAHHHH I LOVE THIS YEAHHHH 🎉🎉
🥳🥳
Thanks for more Elden ring! The Eternal Cities fascinate me...... we the carians share their fascination for the night sky. So i kind of view them as our brothers and sisters. PRAISE THE FULL MOON AND MAY THE LORD OF NIGHT ARISE!
😎🤟
All these factions seem to have so much going on, the worldbuilding is definitely too much sometimes! Even spending hours playing these areas doesn't give enough time to digest it all, there's so much mystery. With the DLC, I hope we are given some crucial puzzle pieces to put all this together, because it really is hard to understand.
Astel definitely stole the night sky with a black hole. It uses black holes to attack you and move around. And the spell for summoning a black hole directly references the fall and fear of the nox.
This is the best video😊
🤗☺️
Suggestion twisted metal games
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Story Trailer please.
Wednesday 😅
I don't say this to detract from your other content, but this series of reactions are my favorite content you have done in a long time. Other games with extensive lore is fun to learn about, but this series in particular demands your attention in a way no others do, because it's mostly speculative or vague in shockingly tangible ways. I think if you do play Elden Ring, you should each play your own characters. It might take longer and be harder to record, but it would be really cool for the two of you to compare your experiences instead of sitting with each other through it all.
I hope you guys do another Max0r video soon. It's been a while
It has been awhile. Thinking Yakuza video of his will be next one we do 🙂
Since you have watched all of Vaati's videos and probably grabbed the basic of what happen in the game, I highly recommend Hawkshaw's videos. His works are, like, the advance level of ER lore that go more into detail of cultures and enemies in its world, which can be a bit overwhelming to start with but once you get the basic lore it is really really fascinating. The "Perfumers and Omenkillers" is a great start, then maybe the Morgott video and the Ancestral Follower videos.
👍👍
Bravo.
🤗
Elden Ring isn't a game you finish and think "Well, at least I can say I did some good for those characters." It's a game you finish and are satisfied for overcoming. The world, lore, and story leave a lot to be desired, in the sense that it doesn't give you that warm fuzzy feeling that comes from everything in the world making sense. More than any of their other games, I'm hoping they do something decisive with this DLC. Elden Ring really needs a satisfying send off for the story.
You’re not old
Appreciate that ☺️🤗
