Ditched school to go to this... It was a decision of what type of nerd took priority in my life. After seeing all the bands together and watching this show live instead of in the band hall I feel it was the right choice.
I had the pleasure of being on the 50 yard line in the lower section for this exact performance. One of the best, if not THE BEST, marching show to see in person.
Whoever said "bring the mojo, flo mo" instead of leaving it to the real professional that says "flo mo, bring the mojo" I will personally hunt you down
This is probably the objectively best show of the year. As much as I love Carmel and Avon, Flower Mound really could've given them some intense competition.
Objectivity definitely is tough. But Carmel and Avon, as much as I love both of them, did not have what it takes to beat this show. At least that's just my opinion, it's not like I'm a judge lol. Plus you gotta consider that Carmel could have had a better visual performance, while this had a better music performance, or even vice versa. But I'd say as far as the cumulative score goes, Flower Mound would've placed highest if they had attended Nationals.
I am pretty certain Carmel nor Avon would have beat them in music. (grin) Their sound is amazing. Haunting solos. They are moving fokes! No more stand still than Carmel or Avon or a Broken Arrow. I see FloMo on the rise, so with each season they are stepping it up. Their style reminds me of The Cadets. Hmmm. Keep it going!
I am proud to be an FMHS Band Alumnus! This performance was spectacular and I am proud of these students for it! As much as I liked Mr. Myers, the "new" director has really done some amazing things with this ensemble.
@@brrrrrtenjoyer poteet is 5A. They historically were a very competitively successful band until their director retired in 2011. They’ve still made state consistently since but haven’t been higher than the 20s in a few years. Basically they don’t really have the band to back up their words anymore but this isn’t the first experience I’ve had with their band being disrespectful towards other bands…
@@uvn6210 So a 5a band that has been having a bit of trouble in recent years is saying they're better than Flower Mound, a consistent State, Super Regionals and Grand Nationals finalist? I'm not trying to disrespect Poteet but that just doesn't makes sense to me and it seems odd.
I remember when I saw this and thought no marching show could possibly top it. I was proved wrong with 2017’s San Antonio Champion, but this show and CTJ’s are on a league of their own, only joined by Hebron
BOA changed their rules...the difficulty of the show is now taken into consideration. Flower mound can very easily not make 1st if they choose to do this again.
Tyler ludwick the Title is Leonardo's Dream Part 1: Rue's Farewell by James Newton Howard Part 2: i forgot what it was sorry Part 3: Freebirds by lynard skynyrd Part 4: To Tame the Perilous Skies (i dont know the author, but if you look it up it pulls it up)

I was there live for this performance. Truly unbelievable how amazing they were. They deserved every bit of that 1st place
Phillip Loy i was there too im in band so we had frontrow seats
i disagree with this comment,
josh cranston why?
josh cranston Disagree with what exactly? All i said was i was there.
Adriana no
That high brass feature after the clarinet ensemble is incredible. To project like that... Wow!
It's a blessing and a curse to go to the same BOA as them. They're amazing
Probably my favorite show of the past decade. Beyond beautiful and absolutely clean as well.
flawless - I would have probably cried if I saw this live.
Carlos Castaneda My school played against them and we did indeed cry
I was crying on the field before we even played the last note 🤷🏼♂️
this is my favorite hs marching show of all time and i went to marcus

I think we all wish we went to fmhs
hell yeah i do
pumpkin462 Nah tbh I actually wish I went to Hebron they are 👌🏼
tru
I had never even heard of the town of flower mound until I saw this show. Huge impact.
It's cool but I'm happy where I am

the guy who says “way to go, flomo” is my spirit animal

Flo Mo would have walked away with it with a sizeable gap.
byrdquest1 I doubt that. I think that flo mo was definitely better but not as much as to cause a sizable gap
+Christopher Jenkins in one of our competitions we had a 4 point gap 😂😂
Objectivity is always tough in the arts. Carmel's visual/musical combo was stunning. FM and Avon were powerhouses, too.

That clarinet ensemble tho 😍
these guys look like the Blue Knights

Dude i'm from leander. This shit is so AMAZING!!!!
Proud to be a member of this incredible band
poteet better
@@MacGwEEklyIf you’re a member of Poteet’s band I must say you are not giving your band a good image.
@@uvn6210 Wait what is Poteet band. Are they 5a or 6a?

seeing this in person had me QUAKING
I wish we were still this good, our show this year is this one but in reverse.
I aspire to be as good as those clarinets😭😭 that was wicked crazy yall
Those mellos dang
Finally, I can watch their show 😍
Wow, that was epic. Congratulations!!
watching this in 2023 as a current high school senior who just finished up their last marching season
One of the best shows ever not to participate at Grand Nationals
I drum at mms middle school and I'm going to be in fmcs drumline in high school
Truman Manley you in yet?
r they even real
they're surreal
TheBhunji1 ha

i was there in the audience
How is a marching band IN HIGH SCHOOL so good
Does this show use music based off of Freebird by Scott McAllister?
Yes
what place did they get at state?
Nerva 1st
I see why they won
I am scared.
at 8:12 is that choreography by Robert Sheldon?? played by trumpets
My roommate is down there! Heck yeah!
Reagan with that 8th place finish tho, seeing this show in person was amazing, good job Flo Mo
Flower mound is like the blue devils of high school, not because they are really good, but because everyone hates them :p
eeman0201 I personally love BD 👀
eeman0201 No, you're thinking Avon lmao
Flower Mound is not even better than Avon, Carmel, or Broken Arrow.
idk why people hate flomo. I’m from marcus and I love them and their shows
Nah Marcus

except this was UIL, which only factors how well you play and march
what's the show title and music cause I didn't get to hear what they were
Tyler ludwick I know the title is Leonardo's Dream, but I'm not sure what music
Binary Freebirds mate not firebirds.
Tyler ludwick the Title is Leonardo's Dream
Part 1: Rue's Farewell by James Newton Howard
Part 2: i forgot what it was sorry
Part 3: Freebirds by lynard skynyrd
Part 4: To Tame the Perilous Skies (i dont know the author, but if you look it up it pulls it up)
pop312145 Part 2 is High Flight
perfect
HOLY
5:13 crisp
1:46
I thought they had wonderful sound and spacing, but the drill was too simple
Drill too easy
funny
igoodboyMC yep
what marching are u in that uses harder drill than this
Leander High School, Round Rock High School has harder drill than this band but since Flower Mound has the cleanest drill, they win.
Brian leanders was pretty unbelievably amazing too
Very Easy Drill. Music is decent.
Musically illiterate opinion
