So awesome to watch Flower Mound after our visit to TX and dinner with you all!! Loved the show and congrats on 6th at BOA Grand Nationals. Have a great time at the Rose Parade. I made that trip with our son his Freshman year with the Avon Band. It's an experience you will never forget...just like our trip to TX. Loved every minute of it. So glad our kids/parents/all got to meet you and your band!!
Sorry I got the wrong place...I just know they should have been higher than that. I'm just glad they were there and our kids got to see the Flower Mound kids again after our trip to TX.
Rebecca Morgan I wish CTJ, Hebron, Tarpon, and Vandegrift would've come to grand Nats this year, would've been a stacked finals schedule, I loved all of their shows.
Rebecca Morgan Lucas Oil has such a unique atmosphere. I was lucky enough to experience the new Mercedes Benz Stadium for the Atalanta Super Regional, and the stadium was just as extravagant as Lucas Oil, if not more. Obviously the crowd was not nearly as large as grand nats, but the stadium must've pumped the kids up so much, it was amazing. And I absolutely loved Tarpon's show this year. Their 2016 show was not one of my favorites....but hopefully we'll see the Tarpon that we saw in 2014 and 2015 next year.
What a show. It's so refreshing watching this kind of a production...not sure if this is right but the word that comes to mind is traditional. A traditional marching band show without all the bells and whistles.
From what I remember watching at Nats, this video actually doesn’t do justice as to how beautiful this show was in person. It still looks great here, but live is wow.
I feel bad for the kids that were tasked with moving the boxes around the entire show. Are they band/guard members, or just people that didn't want to play in the show (which wouldn't make sense)?
kek kekerino they are JV (junior varsity) because the band is so big, they give their best marchers varsity spots. that way, they have the best players playing and the others working the props/creating other visual effects
At my school we had alternates move props but since we had more props than alternates (people who didn't get a spot on the field unless the main marcher they shadowed quit or got hurt), we had to get people from the middle schools to move props voluntarily. Since it wasn't a UIL State year, we were allowed to do it as BOA isn't strict about stuff like that. When it came to UIL performance, we just didn't use props
The only problem with this beautiful homage to Gaudi, design-wise, is the final form-- the color palette is too broad and the final stage picture without context. The final stage picture is also strangely geometrical-- something Gaudi was not with most of his mosaics. There are only two works of Gaudi's that look like Skittles, with every color of the rainbow. Why choose such a wide color palette? Why select those chaotic, unrestrained rainbow-in-a-blender objects de art as your final image for this show? When you see a Gaudi work in person, it's breathtaking. It's restrained, even. The color palette is narrower, the forms purposeful, the shapes are an intentionally whimsical play on standard forms, and mosaics tie into the theme of the overall structure. If the band is creating its own new Gaudi-influenced mosaic at the end, why is it symmetrical and chaotic in its color palette? The final drill set misses the point about Gaudi-- whimsical architectural elegance with a purpose, not a bag of cupcake sprinkles randomly and inexplicably melted on a George Foreman grill. Art is not random.
surprisingly sloppy brass playing & various parts far from lining up especially in the opening. cool show though that had a lot of potential, but they've certainly seemed to have brought it this yr.
This show taught me the very important lesson of “don’t underestimate bands that originate from the state of Texas”
They weren’t even the best band in their school district
@@ethanortiz885 maybe not this year 😂
SCV is playing the same closer for their 2018 show 👀
Aged very well with the drill too
I go back and watch this just for those mello runs and that sax solo like god it’s so nice
What an absolutely AMAZING show. The closer and the ballad hits especially gave me a feeling like no other.
10:10 to the end, my god that mello line
Aaron Laughlin so agreed 😭😍
Aaron Laughlin but the bari solo is the best part of the whole show
Tbone Time it was a tenor but ok
The trumpet solo was soooooo damn good I can't imagine how much work that had to take to get down
It was better but he was moved down on some parts because he couldn’t play it consistently

Suzann Gray they got 5th lol Dobyns Bennet got 6th
Sorry I got the wrong place...I just know they should have been higher than that. I'm just glad they were there and our kids got to see the Flower Mound kids again after our trip to TX.
Suzann Gray no I was wrong, I thought for some reason that this was grand nats finals where they did get 5th
Oliver Jensen who tf got first? Ik BA got second but... this is... huh?... so good how could it be better for this level...
My school got right below this one at boa grand nationals
just watching this is stressing me out all over again
I realize the ending music of this show is the same ending as Santa Clara Vanguard 2018
this band is so good ugh those woodwind runs 😭😭😭
Rebecca Morgan Yeah FloMo, Hebron, and Tarpon Springs have some insane woodwinds.
God I love hebron's woodwinds 😍😭
Rebecca Morgan I wish CTJ, Hebron, Tarpon, and Vandegrift would've come to grand Nats this year, would've been a stacked finals schedule, I loved all of their shows.
Our band didn't go this year because we went to New Jersey/New York for the USBands National Championship. I really miss Lucas Oil

Loving the musical selections (lots of brass band repertoire in there)
Do you know the preshow music woth the oboe flute and soprano sax???
Rylee Taylor unfortunately no, kind of hard to tell with the echo of the stadium :/
What a show. It's so refreshing watching this kind of a production...not sure if this is right but the word that comes to mind is traditional. A traditional marching band show without all the bells and whistles.
I really loved your guys’ show, I’m glad you made finals.
Fantastic show, I've been trying to find which band played this at san antonio, by far the best band ive seen.
Sam Robson's rendition of "I need thee every hour" - 5:30 - Chills, man
@Brendan Harris Well, Sam Robson did post this on his Facebook though haha but thank you!
From what I remember watching at Nats, this video actually doesn’t do justice as to how beautiful this show was in person. It still looks great here, but live is wow.
Wow, just wow! Amazing show. I can't believe the work it must have took to pull that off and my band won Florida state championship back in the day.
Love the selection of music. Wow! loud and proud!!! Loved it. Great job
9:44 SCV Closer
HOW IS THIS A HIGH SCHOOL😭😭😭
Hunter Ruth that’s what I say about my school
I feel bad for the kids that were tasked with moving the boxes around the entire show. Are they band/guard members, or just people that didn't want to play in the show (which wouldn't make sense)?
kek kekerino they are JV (junior varsity) because the band is so big, they give their best marchers varsity spots. that way, they have the best players playing and the others working the props/creating other visual effects
If you don't make it in you are given the option to help with props. Happens to a lot of people on their freshman year
kek kekerino I think the people that failed the marching audition. I had to do that job this year in marching band
Blurry Ghosts wait. Multiple marching bands? That's kinda cool
At my school we had alternates move props but since we had more props than alternates (people who didn't get a spot on the field unless the main marcher they shadowed quit or got hurt), we had to get people from the middle schools to move props voluntarily. Would you happen to have any more videos from finals? If so could u upload! This is so good!
Where can I find the music for the sax part?😭
What piece is the Sax ensemble from??? I must know
Blue's Clues for Fools Antipanico, by Stephen Melillo
Muchas gracias
Came back here after hearing BAC 2019👀
7:20 beautiful 😭😭
OH my god they actually did on the shoulders of giants...
Hot dang this is so good.
What’s the repertoire for this show?
this show is too good
anyone know what the preshow music is? Original work or from another source?
Glassworks by Phillip Glass
thank you!
Amazing band! Just incredible.
Wow so nice to upload these videos!!!
What's the piece for the ballad?
I need thee every hour
hi fellow trombone guy
@@CheezandCrakas hi
Nice mellos, I would've liked more time to talk to them at retreat :/

dude this is a highschool calm down
@@FuriousCapCut Not for one million taxpayer dollars, dude. This shit is life or death, just like the professional world of entertainment production.
That was incredible.
Can someone tell me what the sax ensemble piece is??? I haven't been able to find it in 4 years lol
It’s called “Antipanico” by Stephen Melillo
Best FloMo Ballad of all Time
2018 and 2024 are much better imo
This was a great show, but by the time the band got to the end they seemed to have ran out of steam!
Was there a tempo tear in the ballad??
yep indeed. :(((((
I can't find the tear lol :/
Should've won 2017
Natalie Fisk they were good but carmel’s show was so clean
They should’ve at least beat Vandergrift at San Antonio imo I mean come on
Mystytopaz yeah but Carmel’s show was boring.
If they performed this show like they did at the Plano competition, I think they could’ve been in contention for first
Davon Rodriguez did they delete the video?
It was Southlake, not Plano
Just a Trombone Guy it was Plano as well, when they beat Hebron... I was there
Davon Rodriguez oh, sorry I misunderstood
Yeah Matt!
im only here for the ballad
WHAT FIREDANCE TOO.
Wow
So no one noticed the kids who messed up during the trumpet solo? Just me? Okay.
Adrian Arzate Lots of pressure. He's an amazing player though, going to study under Phil Smith at Georgia next year.
You should've won
lucas heil nah ctj was better lmao
Go rangerrs
8 months later and the sax ensemble is still disgusting
arjun really?
disgusting as in amazing, not bad
scv 2018 closer 😤
高校生とは思えんわ、え?
それは学校のバンドです。
scv did it better
yeah cuz maybe they're a drum core and this is just a highschool lmao
Oh so this is why they were 6th in final, I understand now
OCTrumpets Oh so this is why Leander Band was 14th (Last) at finals. Makes sense that your so trash, because you trashtalk other bands.
Chill out bruh, I'm not even in leander lol where did you get that from? Just wondering, do you think this was the best run of your show?
At this point you are not providing valuable information and speak solely to be rude.
Please stop commenting on every Flo mo, you're obviously jealous just enjoy the performance
Can't enjoy what's not meant to be enjoyed, but now I know the reason behind their placement in this competition
