Thank you for the pattern link.😀👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you so much!
Christen thank you so much for sharing my free pattern!! Your quilt is gorgeous and I have seen so many souls accessing this pattern because of you 🖤
Thank you for the pattern and the quilt is beautiful! I love it! I think I will make it for my daughter in love!
@@itsonlyfabricandthread The response has been so amazing! Thank you for creating such a fun pattern and sharing it!
As long as it keeps you quilting buy what you can afford. More important that it does not have a loose weave that looks like burlap looks. As for expensive fabric feeling better . I have paid a lot and after it is washed all the fancy sizings and finishes wash out that fabric was wrinkly and rough to the touch. Just stick with what you like on sight and fits your budget, and keep quilting.
I was going to say pretty much exactly what you did. And I'll add, that not all quilt shop fabrics are equal. Many of them are rough to start with, while many are like silk. But as you said, once you wash them and dry them - the washer/dryer can be the great equalizer. I recently stopped following a wel known fabric designer and youtuber who very recently commented that quilters should only purchase their fabrics from a quilt shop. It turned me off so that I just unsubscribed from her. The gall!
@@sadiejosiemom yes, yes, I agree. One of my first quilt teachers told us to by what we like AND remember we pay for both sides of fabrics so if you like the back better then turn it over. This was before one sided digital prints. If we only listened to self named experts the quilting by machine of the 80's never would have brought so many of us back to quilting.
So glad to see this video! I have bought some of the Pioneer Woman fabric and was hoping it is decent quality after washing. How much did you use in this quilt? And what size is the quilt? I have bought one bundle of fat quarters, from Walmart, of her line. Did you find yardage as well? I wasn’t sure if the backing is her fabrics as well. Thanks again!
I get what I can afford. If I want a solid I will look a sheets. What I do is for me anyway. Everything works out. Fat quarters even work out for me. Joanne takes military discount which helps.
Agreed! No quilt police! Lol
Remember, the original quilts the pioneers made were from worn clothing and fabric scraps.
My mother inherited some of her grandmothers quilts and she could remember every dress her grandmother wore.
No room for quilt snobs - lol
Aw. That is such a sweet memory piece! I love it 🥰
I add two cups of vinegar to the water along with a cheap liquid soap AND TWO color catchers with every quilt I finish. The vinegar is known to set the dye in fabrics and it's always works out fine for me. Beautiful, beautiful quilt, dear. I love PW's fabrics!
Thanks for sharing your tips so others can learn! I appreciate it 🥰🥰
I am in my 60's and way back in "the good old days", we used vinegar in the first washing of new jeans to set the dye. If we forgot, oh boy, what a big blue mess we had in our laundry! The vinegar really works.
I used many Walmart fabrics to make clothes for my kids when they were little. If their fabric can survive toddler playtime and be passed down several times, I'm fine using it in a quilt. Bonus: it's fun to use the scraps in their quilts 29 plus years later.
When I was a new quilter, I took a class from a quilter who won a best of show at Houston. She said all fabric was fair game. Use what you love and don't be afraid to include a little something weird in your quilts. All of her quilts had a little bit of skeleton fabric in them. 🤣
I love the idea of a hidden skeleton fabric! 😂
What a good idea! I might have to include a cat fabric in all of mine from now on.
I want to add a signature fabric in all of my quilts now. that is a genius idea 😂😂
I bought the fat quarters and made placemats. Just 2.5 squares. Then made kitchen curtains with one of the teal prints. Quality is great.
Ooh, I bet those are so so cute!
Thank you for promoting whatever keeps us quilting. If quilting police existed and only high end/high priced fabric was acceptable, I would have given up long ago. Bloom where you grow!
So so true, I love that Linda.
I purchased the entire set of Pioneer Woman fat quarters and I can't wait to sew them up. I am definitely a "primary colors" person. I was waiting to find the best pattern for the fabric and I think you did this for me. Thank you!
Ooh yay! Have fun sewing and quilting! I've seen so many beautiful quilts out of it and I even saw a skirt the other day someone made. It's lovely fabric
Thank you so much for this video. I will certainly be taking a look at the Pioneer Woman fabric! I agree, that everyone should use the fabric that works best for them. When I have gotten quilts from family members, I guarantee, I was not concerned with where they got the fabric!!! I will probably be making a quilt for my oldest granddaughter to take to college with her. Definitely going to Walmart for some fabric.😂 There is fabric out there for everyone. So grab what works for you and enjoy making those quilts.
Well said, Pam! Have fun with your quilt project 🥰🥰
I love Pioneer WOMAN FABRIC. It’s always gorgeous.
I think so too.
I wish I could add a photo…I too made a Pioneer Woman quilt….I love it!
Email me 😊 christen@iseestarsquilting.com I'd love to see it!
Let’s also take a brief moment to acknowledge the fabulosity of your glasses. Love! And love the quilt.
Girl 🤣 I love your comment lol thank you! I am a fan of all things that glitter and sparkle
Thank you for your kindness and teaching. Was at Wal-Mart today ... Christmas print 1 yard cuts for 49 cents each! Yep, bought them all. I'll dream up something.
I don’t care for The Pioneer Woman and probably would have passed the fabric but I love your lovely quilt. Thank you for sharing. ♥️
Aw thank you! I love the way it turned out too. Everyone has their own tastes!
@@ISeeStarsQuilting yes that’s very true. Were I not trying to destash I may have bought enough to make another beautiful quilt like yours. I really enjoyed your video.
Beautiful Pioneer Woman fabric quilt! ❤
Thank you! 😊
I am so glad it did not bleed on you. Great advice.
That quilt turned out beautifully! Hopefully it will hold up just like any other quilt. Sometimes it all depends on how rough you are with them. I've made my oldest son a few quilts (one was BEAUTIFUL fabric done with all "y" seams) and his dogs have basically ruined them all. It really hurt my feelings that they let their dogs ruin that "y" seam quilt because the fabric was expensive and I put so much work into it. I had no idea that they would let their dogs pretty much ruin the quilt. I thought I raised him better than that - I really did. Guess not. I know better now and I won't give them anything that I really love and used expensive fabrics in. Nope. Too bad for them.
That's how I feel about giving things to people who demonstrate that they don't appreciate or maybe don't understand what kind of commitment it takes to make a good quilt. If you wreck or misuse one of my creations, it's the last one you'll ever see from me. I'll buy you a crappy China-made quilt if you don't know the difference.
And I am just the opposite of both of you. When I give something to somebody what they do with it it’s up to them. I know his previous dog and cat laid all over the quilts I gave him, and I am sure his current cat lays on the quilt. I gave it from my heart, and he enjoys it, and that’s all that matters to me. My daughter, who married a multi millionaire, put the quilt I gave her for the baby in storage within minutes after I gave it to her as a gift, and that evening went out and bought two quilts made in China at her fancy shop, and that was the last quilt she got. That quilt has never come out of storage. That hurt my heart a great deal. My son does use the quilts I’ve made him and loves. them.
@@maureenkearns5376 I would normally be the same. I give it away and you can do what you want with it. It was just disappointing because it was my son. I wanted him to use it, but I just didn't expect him to let his big dogs ruin it. Oh well. Water under the bridge. I have given him other quilts and I don't care what he does with them. It was just that one quilt was special.
That is such a shame! Spend your time on those who'll appreciate the huge effort involved.
Boy! A quilt with “y” seams is difficult and time consuming to make. Don’t blame you for being upset. Seems wise to give him quilts that are fast and easy, since he is so hard on them, and goes through them so quickly. It is nice that he uses them and gets pleasure from them. Just too bad his dogs do too!
I have this fabric. I was going to make curtains but nowI am making a quilt😊🪡 So happy I found this video.
Awe, I am so happy to hear that!
❤"Doesn't need to be perfect to serve it's purpose" ❤
Absolutely!!!
Beautiful love it buy Walmart fabric when I see something I really like Don,t care about quilting police ,no one going to come into my house go to my closet to look at my quilts ,I LOVE quilting I put what ever kind of fabric I want in my quilts because there for me and my family to love ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Yes, love that so much.
I love color catchers, and Pioneer Women products! 💗 Your quilt is lovely. 🤩
Thank you 🥰🥰
The only fabric at Walmart I have had bleed is the basics brand the waverly brand is good.
I love your quilt and the fact that you are so happy with it as you should be it is beautiful!
Thanks Jane! I appreciate you sharing. Good to know 🥰
I would have ruined my last quilt but a happy accident saved it.
I used some Walmart basics brand fabric since I usually do not wash before I piece I had no clue how it would act in water.
My pup jumped up wanting attention and spilt my water all over a finished block… It immediately turned the white back ground fabric a very light shade of blue. At first I was so sad ,then realized what a blessing! The quilt was not put together I could fix it . I just pulled those blocks that had that fabric in it out and replaced them with new ones.
Disaster averted thanks to my pup peewee.😊
I love how quilts feel after they are washed.
Yes! That quilt crinkle is my favorite! 😘😘
Kristen, you are terrific. You are sew tallented and I love your videos and your comments. I am sew happy to have joined your youtube and I look forward to many more great ideas, etc..
This quilt is lovely. I can only afford fabric from WalMart (I am on Social Security) and I love their selections. If someone can afford more pricey fabric then go for it.
We are a community of sewists, quilters who love what we create.💟
Aw thank you Barbara! 🥰 You are so sweet!
Christen, this quilt is PRETTY!!! Well done! And congrats on the successful wash! We can all benefit from your experiment!
Thanks Beverly, I'm glad I can try things and shar with you all.
I recently bought some pioneer woman fabric quarters. I put each fabric in a bleach wash just to tone down the bright colors. The reds turn into a beautiful peach color and the bright blues turn into a mellow gray blue. Love the channel
Great tip! That sounds beautiful.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! THIS QUILT ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! It is one of my favorites to snuggle with for sure 🤩
The quilt is stunning.
Susan, that is so kind. I really loved the outcome as well.
Pretty quilt. I like the pattern. The fabric is pretty. I like to prewash my fabrics before cutting and sewing them, that way you don't ruin your whole project if something bleeds.
Love it just got some of the same fabric for making mug rugs and other things. I don't wash fabric first either. Glad to see it did so well.
Thanks so much for watching, and sharing.
what a gorgeous quilt!
So pretty. I'm really drawn to this fabric line. Will have to give it a try
Pioneer Woman fabric is really cute! I am using her Christmas line for ornaments this year ❤

Watching your videos encourages me so much!
Aw so glad 🥰 you create what makes you happy and love on others. Then all will be right in the world. 🤩
I love that quilt it's so beautiful💖
I'm so glad I found this video. I'm trying to finish my very first quilt. Now I'm seeing so many 'major' mistakes in matching pieces etc. Luckily it's just for my best friend and she has 3 large dogs that will share it with her. Pretty certain it will stay together (haha) and be well loved...and dogged. YOU made me feel better about it. All I can say is I tried very hard.
Susie, that is so sweet to make one for your friend. I have no doubt it is beautiful, and she will love it so much!
The quilt is just stunning! ♥
Thank you so very much.
That is so beautiful ❤❤ definitely going to buy this material and make a quilt.😊😊

I’m so jealous, I love your quilt and I know I would because I love the PW fabric! I’m glad the results of your test went your way I’d hate to see that quilt come out ruined. I had no idea about the color absorbers I guess I use cold water too much!c
Thank you for that spectacular tour of the show! I was not able to attend and I am so glad you helped me tour it virtually. Amazing artists. Definitely inspiring.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is so pretty, Kristen. 💖 I'm looking forward to using my stash. This fabric is very pretty and looks good quality. You should buy what you love, for sure.
I used Pioneer Woman Fabric along with some out of my stash for a Dresden Plate wall hanging. Very pleased with results although it hasn't been washed yet. Your Quilt is cheerful and gorgeous!
I love using the precut fabrics. I’ve used it on several products and have no issues with them.
Love your quilt. I also love the Pioneer Woman and was wondering about the fabric quality, but now thanks to you I am going to buy some and use your lovely pattern with it. Thanks.
Wonderful! 🙌 I would love to see your quilt when it is all finished 😘😘 Have fun with it

Thank you! This quilt krinkles so lovely. I think it's one of my favorite parts 🤩

If you know Ree... give her a call for me. I'd be happy to make her a quilt 😘
I made a quilt top with this line of fabric based on your previous video and I love it. Need to finish the quilting but it’s going to make a lovely Xmas gift. Thanks for all your videos!

Thank you so much! Please go through and ask anything. I"m so happy to have you.
I've used The Pioneer Woman fabric and absolutely loved it!
That is funny Pam! Because I actually thought of you while I was working on this quilt because it reminded me of some of the fabric I've seen you work with. 🤩🤩
Love it - what a beautiful quilt! And only 2 color catchers-I was shocked! Thank you so much for sharing, and enjoy your gorgeous quilt!
Thank you for watching! It's so good to hear other people are obsessed with the color catchers! 😂
@@ISeeStarsQuilting Oh yes! I usually put 8 or 10 in the first wash! I'm so paranoid that the might bleed - and I've only used fabric from my LQS, Etsy, etc...but I still worry. I love your Pioneer Woman fabrics - such a cozy vintage look! They are on my list to try.:))
Gorgeous!! Nice work. I have seen those prints and really like them. I think you can tell a lot by touching the fabric.
Yes... I'm definitely a toucher at the stores. Must touch it all 🥰🥰
Love the quilt. ❤
Thank you! 😘😘
Beautiful quilt!!!
Thanks for watching 🥰
Your quilt is lovely! I love Pioneer Woman fabric! The texture is nummy to the touch and easy to work with. I washed my table topper without color catcher (delicate cycle) and it did not bleed.
It really is! That is so good to hear.
Your quilt is fabulous! I have heard only good things about the Pioneer Woman fabric, & after watching your video, I think I need to go get some myself!!
I've been snuggling with this quilt for days now! I can't put it down lol It goes everywhere with me! 😂

@@ISeeStarsQuilting so I went to Wal-mart and that material is even prettier when seen "in Person". I think it would make a lovely table runner. TGIF!!
That is a REALLY pretty quilt. I just may run out tomorrow and pick up a couple of bundles of this type of fabric from Walmart. I have been on the fence about it until now. You made my decision for me. Thank you for another great video.
Aw yay! Thanks for watching! I would love to see what you create with your fabrics. Have fun 🥰

No problem! There are so many people that have been scared to try lol someone has to go first! 😂😂
