I'm SO GIDDY because my recent Amazon Japan order arrived, with this AMAZING Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters Popcorn Car/Bicycle with Sheep Mother!! This is a Japanese set, but hopefully it becomes more widely available soon. I scored it for about $29 total, with shipping from Japan.
I was really surprised by how big the box was! Usually it's the opposite, and I can't believe how SMALL a Sylvanian Families box is, so that was fun! I especially love the Sheep mother - her popcorn uniform reminds me of the old fashioned Candy Stripers, and I adore her headdress!
The cart itself can be attached to the gorgeous bicycle, or can stand alone. I love the colors, accessories, everything. My favorite feature is that the popcorn has a crank that makes it pop!! I also love how the popcorn window can be opened and the servings can be scooped out from it, compared to the older popcorn cart where the main area doesn't open (that bugs me!!).
I'd love to know: What's your favorite part? Is there anything about it you dislike? How do you feel about this new trend of printed pieces vs stickers, and pre-applied stickers? Do you like the cup style with the "handle" hole, or do you like the classic style? I like both, for different reasons!

Thanks I wanted to get this for a while, but it was just a little too much, and then one day I noticed it dropped in price so I went for it! They are so lucky in Japan, it seems like they get all the coolest stuff first, sometimes we don’t get it at all in the USA!!

They are both amazing!! The older one has a super cute, old-fashioned design, and looks great in any scene, and I love the look of the popcorn case but I wish it could be opened. The new one has a lot of fun accessories and features, they're both so different but so cool!
Just ordered the sheep popcorn cart last night. Seeing this comparison I’m sure I made the right choice. It’s hard to tell without seeing them side by side, and the details matter. ❤️

That’s awesome, I’m so happy for you! That new popcorn cart is probably one of my most favorite little sets, I find myself bringing it out all the time… Obsessed! And totally agree, the details are everything, I like them both but I love how the new one can be opened up and has the popping mechanism plus the beautiful sheep. Enjoy! 🍿❤️
Great comparison! I saw this set on Instagram and told myself I didn't need it since I have the older popcorn cart...I think you've convinced me otherwise! That popping motion is great and the sheep is too cute, her outfit is so adorable!
Thank you! Yes I felt the same at first, but the sheep just tugged at my heart so when the price dropped I went for it! It’s different enough not to conflict, and critters love popcorn so hey why not! 😆🍿

Thank you! I found it on Amazon Japan, but I'm not sure if they ship to every location, or the shipping may be outrageous to certain places. But it's very new, so in time it will definitely start popping up for sale on eBay, and hopefully with major retailers at some point! ❤️
@@AdventuresinCritterland I ended up checking they don’t ship to Australia but I hope they will release quiet annoying because, I am not sure if they will release they 36th anniversary items for this year to Australia I hope they will, thanks for your help 💖

Nice! I really wish they would release stuff like this in every country at the same time, it always feels like a treasure hunt trying to find stuff and it’s no fun paying to have it shipped from overseas lol! But sometimes, it’s worth it! 🤪

I do have a question, how do you deal with customs on shipments from JP? Do you have to pay an outrageous amount? Thank you!
Hello! Luckily, I have not paid any customs fees/import taxes from Japan to the USA, at least not that I know of, it’s possible Amazon Japan pays it out of the shipping but I doubt it. The shipping is pricey, so when I place an order I get enough items to make it worthwhile (and I don’t do it that often). I hope that helps!
