I'm glad you liked it. It's always fun when kids are excited to go fishing. We do not do much fishing past 50ft in our lakes here. Anything deeper and I think I'd be looking into electric downriggers.
@codygray7791 I'm not sure on his leader length in this video. We typically end up using a 10 to 20 inch leader. We're not too picky with leader lengths most of the time.
@FougereFamilyAdventures very interesting. We are very particular it seems down here. Usually 8-11 inches behind dodger. With 1.1 - 1.5 mph. Do you guys usually go faster?
@codygray7791 I've played with 8 to 10 inch leaders and while it works, on average I haven't seen a big difference most of the year. That's being said, a shorter leader can help later in the summer. Maybe our water temperatures stay cooler most of the year?
Speeds vary, but I'd say the average range is similar to what you speak of. I like 1.2 to 1.4 miles per hour, but I've also done just as good in the 1.5 to 2.0 mph ranges. Throttle bumps and S-turns for the win.
Good video. It's awesome to see the kids getting out and fishing. You aren't fushing very deep I'm use to fishing 80 to 120 feet

@@codygray7791 we love having fun, that's for sure. 😀
What are you using for audio recording, it's so nice and clear
I'm glad you like it. I'm using an external mic from Amazon.
