Ben, I was at Ruth Lake 3 rd week June. Every kokanee was 3 lb+ and i did land a 4.5 lb one and lost one even bigger, broke the line and took my dodger and hoochie. I make my own hoochies they worked very well. Looks like you had a great time with the family. Missed seeing your older son, but Austin sure did great. I think Sarah out fished you guys.
@bruced1429 I'm glad you liked it. Ruth is a fun lake for sure. Our boat is definitely getting small for us. We are considering an upgrade soon so we can all fish comfortably. Now to decide what boat I want next...
We use two different rods (four in total). We have two Okuma kokanee aveon rods and two Luhr Jensen kokanee downrigger rods. Here's my review on my Luhr Jensen rods. Other reviews can be found in my product review playlist. ruclips.net/video/c7srUE7lCrM/видео.htmlsi=6bIfYtsSdErqdiHw
Nice work guys , we fish Kootenay Lake for them but 2.5lb Kokanee is a big one however I used to catch and release Gerrard Rainbows over 20-25lbs on a regular basis until about 10 years ago 💪🎣🇨🇦
@@FougereFamilyAdventures hey I gotta question for you I used to fish Dragonfly lake in the 90’s and caught 10-15 lb Bows , is the lake still full of big breeders ?
@mikekelly6023 Dragon Lake still has larger than average rainbows. I haven't seen any 15lbs rainbows and 10lb rainbows are rare, but still lurking in the lake. Average sizes range from 3 to 6lbs if I had to guess.
@@FougereFamilyAdventures that’s good news I guess it seems many of the best lakes have declined some but thanks for your reply my friend best of luck on the water with your family 🙏
love the family dynamic. some good chirps tossed out by mom!
Yes. We like to have fun out there 😁

@mikekelly6023 I'm glad you liked it. Nothing wrong with a 2.5lb kokanee and a 20lb rainbow would be a lot of fun.
