Some day it will be 13 years ago. We’ll have nostalgia for this game. One or two more games probably will have come out by then, which somehow manage to surpass even this. Maybe we’ll be looking back on what we consider a masterpiece now and seeing it like a tech demo, just as how botw was once considered one of the best games ever made and now feels like a flawed and unfinished version of totk.
dont worry fellow totk friend, we will all be old impa’s together and think back to the good ol times like carrying cucu’s and getting scolded for trying to pick tomatos
This place is just so utterly intriguing. From the plantlife that seems to have evolved to feed off the dense amount of particles in the air to the unusual darkness that forces a new mindset when traversing, it was truly a huge surprise
@@cato3277 I think it's because they can't fathom the idea of it. Personally I can see where you are coming from but it's IMO quite the different experience from ALTTP dark world. The enviroment, while *conceptually* similar, is in terms of execution a completely different one with completely different vibes.
The depths were my favorite thing about TotK. The atmosphere, the music, the beautiful darkness with specks of light of in the distance. Love everything about it.
I love using this for DND, my players are about to delve into the underground lair of a doomsday cult and the creepy, tense Depths are the exact vibe I'm going for lol
I spent a couple hours in the depths and with complete darkness darn near everywhere and almost no sound other than the very surreal and almost chilling tone of the music, it felt completely isolated and just the overall vibe was lonely. The towering ferns and gloom were a big plus to the experience but boy was I glad to get out of there and see the light again.
I love how you can hear the background noises in each scene too, especially with headphones on. Like in the first scene up until the 7:18 mark, the background ambience is more reminiscent of the humming of an empty warehouse, maybe caused by drafts coming from the overhead chasms and the flow of magma. And then once the scene changes to the music of The Depths from the Lightroot music, you can also hear... voices... Maybe echoes of the lost voices of Poes or calls of monsters reverberating off of cavern walls. *Fun fact, these are likely the very same vocal sound effects found at the beginning of the E3 2021 teaser
I think Nintendo nailed the sound design of the depths. It perfectly portrays the nature and the vastness of it. The depths feels almost endless and it's spooky and whimsical and contains countless mines. You get this sense immediately from the ambience. One could argue that it's unfortunate that BotW & TotK are lacking in real themes and songs, but I think they made the right choice. The bigger the place, the more subtle the music should be. You do get real Zelda music in these games, like in the Korok Village or other villages, but those are much smaller places so having more traditional composition makes more sense there. The surface, the depths and the sky have really subtle music and I think that's just brilliant.
I’ve always been obsessed with underground places for some reason (so much so that I want to explore a real cave someday). I love the idea that right now wherever you’re standing, there could be an empty space in the rock beneath you. Within that space dwells alien-looking creatures who haven’t been touched by sunlight in thousands of years. Real caves are unfortunately small compared to _The Depths_ but this game scratches the itch in my mind for subterranean stuff.
Read one theory that the depths is the original Hyrule prior to the Great Flood seen in Wind Waker. Makes a ton of sense with how all the plant life looks like it would have been submerged under water.
If you enjoy these ambience videos please consider subbing 😮
I read 13 years ago instead of 13 days ago, but thinking there will be written 13 years ago under that video someday makes me feel stressed :‘)
Sometimes I watch a new to me video and when I go to look at when it was posted it’s like “posted 12 years ago” so I understand the anxiety
Like if you're watching this in 2036.

I can't believe they managed to not spoil this before launch
I feel like I'm experiencing ALTTP's dark world all over again in this environment. Really beautiful addition
Just... no.

:D
Don't forget when you hear corrupted bokoblins and other enemies in the darkness. It's so chilling
7:50 scared the living hell out of me 😂 I had it on as ambiance while working, I was not prepared for the scene to move 😂
oopsie! I wanted to include both areas in the video though
When I first entered this place and saw all the weird particles in the air, I thought of the Upside Down from Stranger Things. Very surreal.
i call it the upside down

It's always so surprising the feeling of utter relief I get when I finally leave the depths after an extended stay
7:18 I love the synth that plays and how it echos too!

hate to break it to you but real caves don’t have alien looking creatures, all they have is bugs and shit. Maybe a samsquanch if you’re lucky
OH SHIT, I did not ever notice the strings in the beginning that sound similar to a very special Poe house! I love the touch on that
I swear I just was thinking this morning if there was an ambient sounds video for the Depths, and here it is! 😊
The Depths are under appreciated. Same with the Road to Hyrule Castle
Kinda crazy that this was used for a trailer theme originally, I literally thought that when I heard this for the first time in the game
this makes me feel liked im alone

Ooooo neato! It would be interesting to see if any landmarks lined up!
Thank you for this!
tysm for this
Exactly what I was looking for
I fear no man. But that thing... It scares me.
so calm
I’m so curious to see a reversed version of this, I’m convinced it will be something
Im in the Depths now and its tasking...spelunking...
Can you make like a 12 hour version? This is good BGM for working and D&D
Unfortunately I can't at the moment BUT if you right click the video you can set it to loop!
@@SnoreyTimeGaming What if you made a reverse version?
When you fall asleep in a cave.
