I think something that helps me in conversion is: instead of focusing on winning, I focus on just eliminating any counterplay and protecting any of my weaknesses. The win will come naturally if you’re already up material or even if they’re super passive. Focusing on pushing it immediately tends to allow chances for the opponent. -Poet
(Obviously this doesn’t apply so much when you’ve already gone all in sacrificing material, it was more like general advice than a reaction to this game)
@JoshuaDerstine yeah,no. That is solid advice. Something that helped me was just keeping it simple and avoiding complex lines. I just don't like forcing it. I might be passive, but I like to just get better positions with chances without having to force it and end up losing
You and I seem to suffer from the same thing: getting winning position (or calculating good tactics and getting a better position) but being unable to convert because of time + complicated positions. That first game is a perfect example of finding really good moves and basically checkmating your opponent but just being too low on time. I bet you would have found you can sacrifice the queen if you had a few more minutes. Keep up the great work homie, you play great chess!
Yeah, but if you need a lot of time to find it then can you still say that you just need more while still playing short time controls. If you're a slow player then you should just play 15/10. By slow I mean long thinker. Not tryna use offensive language

Wow, from mate in 9 to +.5 in one move. I can't figure out why this happens to you quite a bit! Losing winning positions! I don't think you know either because it continues to happen. Perseverance is good and you have it brother! Don't give up!
@@ApexChesss To be fair, I think its harder to stream and play too, just talking out loud trying to explain your moves is hard i think. If you won your winning positions I think you would have crossed 2200!
I had to laugh at 19:30: "That's a blunder because I take...oh, shoot." We all know the feeling.
LOL

Or just longer time controls
So frustrating man
I am 1868, and I enjoyed your video because not only do we have some similarities, but I also appreciated your commentary a lot😊🇧🇩
Thanks for your support ❤️
I really liked your after game review
You spend a lot of time on non critical positions. That's an area to improve.⌚️
For sure
I hope you the best bro

@@Tommy12561 I've said it many times, this is my biggest weakness 🤣 if I could just win my winning positions, I'd probably actually be 2100 by now😭
