      You realize that they specifically recruit many (if not most) of the people they show in front of the judges, right? Those people don't have to go through the normal process and skip straight to the judge. This really isn't the show for the true average joe anymore. It's super manufactured. @@chrissmith6862

      @lacthocia Месяц назад +19

      @@chrissmith6862The person is not talking about THIS audition only, they're speaking facts in general. To be selected for auditions you gotta submit your whole identity info, answer forms with questions about your personal and professional life, active career, contacts, interests and intentions (by being on the show). This audition in front of the judges to go live is not the first one also, they went through tape/video submissions first, email/forms submissions and producers first listen/auditions/interview selections before! Summarizing it all, *"the show is scripted and they knew it waaay before!".* They just throw the news carefully for viewers to sympathize more and don't pull the "nepobaby privilege" card at her. There, a better explanation for you.

    They tell her to shout who she is, but she doesn't have to. Loretta lynn never shouted, but the whole world knows who she is. And it's that politeness and personality she passed down to her granddaughter she doesn't need to change she just needs to embrace her gift!

    • @arklytte
      @arklytte Месяц назад +15

      The only shouting Mrs Loretta ever needed to do, she did with her music. I met her once when I was a kid. She was the guest judge at the California state fair, and I was in a 4H competition. She was the nicest, kindest woman. She was like everyone's grandma, and she instantly put you at ease.
      God Bless Emmy. I hope she makes it all the way, and gets some of her own 'big shoes' to fill.

    • @ForeverDegenerate
      @ForeverDegenerate Месяц назад +13

      @jcgjcg
      Shouting has nothing to do with it. It's about confidence in herself and who she is. It's about not thinking she has to live up to her grandmother's legacy and to have the confidence and strength to forge her own legacy. They weren't asking her to change anything. They were challenging her to embrace who she is and her own identity rather than to be trying to chase something and someone that she will never be and should never become. She isn't Loretta Lynn. She is Emmy Russell.
      It's also about the fact that both the Music Industry and the listeners of said music have both changed so much since Loretta Lynn broke into the Industry. Loretta Lynn didn't have to shout, but that doesn't mean Emmy Russell doesn't have to shout. The Industry now is much more ruthless and much less caring than back then. If you're not confident in who you are and what you are, the Industry will chew you up and spit you out, molding you into something completely unrecognizable, existing only to exploit your talent to make them money. And they WILL exploit the fact that she's Loretta Lynn's Granddaughter to do it. These judges know this better than anybody else, especially Lionel Richie who has seen the Multi-Generational Evolution of the Music Industry.
      And the listeners. In the Age of The Internet, you know damn well that comparisons will be made between Emmy and Loretta. You know damn well the question will always linger if she can "live up to the legacy." In short, in the Age of The Internet, The Shadow of Loretta Lynn will be thrust upon her whether she wants it to or not. These judges aren't telling her to shout to change who she is. They are showing her that she doesn't need to be afraid nor does she need to feel like she has to fill Loretta Lynn's shoes. They are trying to build Emmy up so that the inevitable thrust of Loretta Lynn's Shadow by both the Music Industry and the Music Listeners can't and won't ever change her. THAT is why they are insisting she asserts who she is. What they are doing ISN'T trying to change her, but rather prepare her for what is to come and to prevent everyone ELSE from forcing her to change by reinforcing who she already IS and getting her to realize that she doesn't need to try to live up to her Grandmother her Mother or her Aunt because she will already do that in spades by believing in herself, owning her own identity, and just by being Emmy.

      @jcgjcg3844 Месяц назад +2

      @ForeverDegenerate I am not going to get into a big debate but the only way she can build confidence is being herself and excepting that. Changing for Hollywood and Big record labels is why so many people burn out and overdose or become perpetual users

      @@jcgjcg3844 Which, if you actually read what I wrote, is EXACTLY what the judges were advocating for is EXACTLY the reason they wanted her to declare who she was. To avoid, exactly, the situation you just described.

With Emmy, she is still young but I think she favors her dad more. She Def wears her heart on her sleeve and writes from personal experience and that is the legacy that Ms. Lynn wanted to pass on to her children and grandchildren. I mean this woman and her husband did not know anything about the music business and look what she has created for her family and fans/friends...they made it up as they went a long with it and not once did she nor her husband change...well maybe the drinking part slowed down from her hubby. You could tell where she stood. If you tell her no, she went ahead and it. Lol..Tayla is the same way. Gosh...I'm sorry I just rambling

Another one of Ms. Lynn's grandchildren. She and Mr. Twitty's grandson has a duo called Twitty & Lynn. They go on tour all over the country to perform their hits and to tell their stories. Ms. Lynn really instilled in them how important the fans are. I am blessed that I can call Tay my friend. I did not know who she was when I first followed her. My mother had a blowout when I was about 10 or 11 when it was over 100 degrees outside, and her spare was bad. Loretta Lynn stopped and helped us and a couple of the men on her bus paid to replace the tire, because my mother didn’t have much money with her at that time. Loretta kept us on her bus in the air conditioning while they were taking care of my mother’s van. Tbh, idk how long we would’ve been out in the heat if they didn’t stop. We may have been out there for a few hours in the heat, waiting for my dad to arrive, once we were able to get to a payphone to call him to get to us. I remember Loretta being so sweet and wanting to make sure that my younger brothers and I were ok, since we were just kids, but she also insisted that my mom have something to drink, since we had been out in the heat for a little while.
