In a few days, it will be 10 years since my mother left this earth. One of her favorite films was An Affair To Remember and this video captures perfectly why this woman is so beloved by my mother and many like her. Deborah had a regal style to her that you almost believe she descended from royalty. Thank for the lovely video 😙
My sympathy for your own commemoration. For me it's perfectly understandable that your mother loved Deborah :) Her warmth, both on screen and in her private life made her very lovable. I agree that she had a born regal manner that could make queens look like peasants beside her. Thank you.

This is an absolutely touching creation. She is the very first actress that literally touches me where no one else seems to be able to go.....it is in her pure unadulterated honesty that reached out through the screen and touched my heart. Just magic every single time......I adore her so.

You have hit the nail on the head! She really has inspired me as a human being......the first movie that allowed me to feel connected to her in that way was Tea & Sympathy. The pure humanity of the story was so tender and special, but her performance as Laura really deeply touched me. It literally grabbed me like nothing else has ever or since.
Yes, Tea and Sympathy is a great choice of a film which gives an insight on what she was really like as a person. No wonder that character was so close to her heart. I personally started with The Journey, and somehow I felt that her elegance in that role was genuine and a reflection of her inner grace as well... I'm glad I wasn't wrong and as I learned more and more about her, I felt connected to her on a deeper and personal level.
Thank you for this - it's such a beautiful, heartfelt tribute to a truly remarkable lady! Ten years gone, but her legacy will live on. Your Deborah tributes are always so inspiring and this one really showcases her versatility and artistic prowess.

Visited her grave 19-3-2021 and left her some roses. Her centenary year.
