I think laine will take a deal in line with the core on this team 7.5-8 mil range , hes happy playing hockey again , thats important and laine learned the hard way that its important.
The problem with this rebuild is Montreal never was "all in" since they have traded every year for players to get better quicker...from day one of it. This team with a bit of luck can even finish outside the top10...it will depend in part what Hughes will do at the trade deadline. Anyhow, I am sure they will still find a way to make us believe that they are constructing a serious futur cup contender with Suzuki as 1C and Hutson as top #1 defenseman which they are not. Indeed, the Montreal Canadiens are expert at selling HOPE to their fans !!!
Honestly, size, movements and all ,Dobes looks like Dryden's back!!! He can take the pressure, he wasn't around to know how great he was. We'll build a team around him!
Prob with Primeau is he would wind up flopping around in the blue paint....A lotta goals scored where the poor kid is laying on his stomach in the crease
Primeau struggled with his rebound control and never fixed it. He just didn't know where the puck would go after it hits him. He is not an NHL goalie. maybe in 3 or 4 years if he works on that he could become a backup but his skill level is just not there. Don't blame management, Primeau got every opportunity...Dobes says hi!
slafkovsky is terrible can't pass, doesn't hit, blind passing, one hand on stick,no wonder Matheson doesn't pass the puck to him,he doesn't know what to do,hope he improves
Habs management does not subscribe to LARGE .... GRITTY .... FORWARDS .........They think it is in bad taste and unnecessary ...... HABS NEED 7 SOB FORWARDS ...while keeping their soft so-called skilled players. ......
The first time Montreal.. makes the playoffs. One or two of their main players will get decapitated..... And then management will understand that a change in their size and grit will need to be changed... I believe Larry Robinson believes in that type of hockey ... that's why Montreal never hired him
Trade Matheson, Hutson makes him redundant, Matheson is costing this team defensively and is not bringing it offensively. They both need a steady defensive partner so unless they are split up 5v5 that pairing is not sustainable LD is log jammed and Matheson is the piece to move Matheson to Vancouver for a Dakota Joshua something along those lines Savard should stay until Reinbacher and Mailloux are ready If Habs are out if mix at trade deadline maybe you flip him for futures but I would bring him back 2-3 years on a very team friendly deal ( he wanted to come to Montreal after Covid ) he is the only Stanley cup winner in the room and the Dad on the team. They just Carrier because they didn’t have enough right shot D’s, everyone and their dog saying Savard is next to go… If this team is serious about playing for a playoff spot it would be the dumbest move they could make Ghule - Carrier Hutson - Strubble Arber - Savard Trudeau - Mailloux Engstrom - Lindstrom Reinbacher ( injury recovery may take time ) Newhook I also don’t see a long term fit, he is the Barron of forwards has nice skating and shooting but just looks out of place maybe him and Heineman swap places Trade DVO bring up Beck as 4C Re-sign Evans as 3C 3-4 years 3-3.5 million he’s earned it and is worth it DVO - Armia - Matheson could bring back a PWF to play in bottom 9 and a young RD ( position of need at the moment ) Habs have a load of picks as sweeteners to make it happen Or they hang on to Armia / DVO if they are in playoff mix as veteran rentals that cost you no assets to bring in Gally and Andy are actually playing well, perhaps not up to their contract values but they have been giving her all season. But Matheson is unwatchable, should not be paired up with Hutson
The all knowing savant that is Pierre Listed The Habs “starting” D But left out the best D on this team Ghule Look at this team’s play and record with Ghule in the line up and without Matheson could be injured 10-20 games and team would not suffer Same can not be said for Ghule Trade Matheson while he is still worth something, his defensive play is atrocious, his offense doesn’t make up for all the pizzas he serves Hutson generates much more and what he lacks in size defensively he makes up with effort, body position and hockey iQ This team is winning despite Matheson not because of Matheson

We need to finish **in the mix** for the first 1-7 draft picks ie....Micheal Misa....Roger McQueen.... Jackson Smith....Anton Foundel

Big fan of Pierre

He is not an NHL goalie. maybe in 3 or 4 years if he works on that he could become a backup but his skill level is just not there. Arber was at the end of a VERY long shift...he was gassed to start that fight. Couldn't even lift his arms!
Would love to see you get Link Gaetz on here. This guy was a mean & crazy SOB.
Call dobes Mr.Freeze 🥶
George laraque already had fighting lessons with xjacki
Why even talk about this clown he has taken to many knocks to the head. And really has no clue
Question: Which Habs lines have more 5 on 5 goals...1&2 vs 3&4. And what does that say about the team.
Primeau didn’t seem to improve and definitely looked small in net. Dobes looks big and plays aggressive.
Montreal coaching needs help before next year this staff is not the answer
They're a playoff team next year Chris

Savard should stay until Reinbacher and Mailloux are ready

If this team is serious about playing for a playoff spot it would be the dumbest move they could make
Ghule - Carrier
Hutson - Strubble
Arber - Savard
Trudeau - Mailloux
Engstrom - Lindstrom
Reinbacher ( injury recovery may take time )
Newhook I also don’t see a long term fit, he is the Barron of forwards has nice skating and shooting but just looks out of place maybe him and Heineman swap places

Re-sign Evans as 3C 3-4 years 3-3.5 million he’s earned it and is worth it

Ghule
Look at this team’s play and record with Ghule in the line up and without
