That “YES!!” at the end of Creep is so satisfying. Have you seen the new video where Pau sings Breathe live and breaks down at the end? It’s so special. She’s an icon…at 21.
The Creep cover was in response to a challenge. I believe she learned it in about four hours. So, that's the reason behind the ending. Pau's voice is quite an instrument!
Let's go over some facts here. Pau does not have an optimal voice for singing. A raspy voice is extremely difficult to control even to just carry a note let alone carry a note with vibrato. I'm not a singing expert but I can tell you dont hear alot of great singers with a raspy voice for a reason. 1st of all its very hard to control like I said previously but it is also very painful. It's hard to imagine what Pau went through to get to this point. Most people with a raspy voice will get to a certain point and stop , Pau must have really wanted it and suffered though the pain and extra work in just to be an avg singer and then pushed through more pain to be a great singer. Her dedication and determination blows my mind. All this paid off because she now has one of ghe most unique and beautiful singing voices I've ever heard. Just amazing and she has the same dedication on the drums and her lyrics. I'm not sure what her IQ is but I bet it's on the genius side of the spectrum. She's borderline super human or something lol..I dont think we have even seen just what Pau can actually do in the music world and I truely believe before she's done she will have changed the music world upside down.
Pau did this March 2020 so 18 years old. Done after the quarantines for COVID started. Yes, March 2020 just a bit before the band's Quarantine Concert (live) March 25, 2020.
It is actually an instagram challenge done the day of release during COVID. She gave Paetrons a challenge what should she sing. This was chosen and she took about 4 hours to learn it and then did the song live on instagram. She was I think 18.
Knowing she was 10 for this Clarkson cover, is mind blowing, but...... She has a drum cover of Hanna Montana at age 7!! Cuteness overload!! Learning Creep and sharing it in under 4 hours for that social challenge was crazy, but to do it as she did, unfricking Real! Locurra! 🤘
She is the best singing drummer ever. I don't know a lot about drums but I have watched hundreds of reaction videos and many current and former drummers say she has the best footwork and crossovers since Keith Moon.
The story on the drum cover is that a camera failed on the 1st take and she was quite upset. Her mom came into “the cave” to support her during the 2nd take. Around 4:20 ( on your video) you can see mom’s foot tapping along in the upper left of the frame.
Earlier this year I saw an interview where Pau says she prefers to be barefoot when drumming so she can feel the music. Obviously she doesn’t do that in concert because stage floors are disgusting.
Pau recently won modern drummers up and coming drummer of the year . She with her voice and drumming is top notch talent and performer , a true artist.

What can you say? Perfection. Pau not only sings the lyrics she lives them...giving us the emotion behind every single word. Her ability to go from powerful delivery to soft, almost whisper and all in pitch? That's just a natural gift. There is so much texture in her vocals. I've seen this a few dozen times and I get goosebumps and it hits me every time. As for her 10 year old drummer video...can you imagine teachers told her she was too small and wouldn't take her back when she was 6? Thank you to that teacher who did say, "Just leave her. She'll be fine." Was it Beto Ramos who taught this legend?

Rob Hirst is the drummer for the band Midnight Oil. I seen a live video a while back called Power and the Passion that really showed his talent, cheers.
I've seen the one with Pau at 10 about 30 times and always stop and watch the reaction. She was and is amazing. A good portion of their songs were composed by Pau maybe on this piano.
Paulina's actual superpower besides her music talent is she is an excellent multitasker. She and her parents learned very early on she has excellent coordenation. All the 3 Villareal sisters have that too, as it is needed to be both an instrumental player and singer at the same time, but Paulina takes it to a greater extreme. Paulina is one of the few people who can genuinely multitask. Most people who multitask believe they can do it but actually cant and end up being mediocre on many things instead of being competent at one thing.
Agreed with all of this. I favor drummers as it is but she gives me a good reason why I continue to love drummers. Especially her. She can do it all and is good at all she does! Cheers!
@@DaneBramageROCKS A few years ago i started gaini an lot interest on drummers which in the past i often overlooked. Before there was only one drummer alone i liked, Steward Copeland from The Police because his drumming is so unique i caught my attention. I also liked the precussion sounds of Peter Gabriel's songs in his album "Passion". But otherwise, drummers for me were but a wall of sound in a song. Things changed more recently for me when i noticed the drumming in the videos of 3 songs: one was Nick Mason of Pink Floyd in the live at Pompeii concert of the song Echoes. The second was in the live concert of Porpunpine Trees of theirn song Anesthetise by the drumming of Gavin Harrison. The 3rd was a live performance of Peter Gabriel's song "The Rhythm of the Heat" by a drummer i have no idea wh he is (it was not the session drummer that played on the album). Paulina Villareal is now my favorite drummer with Copeland and i admire her a lot.
@@carlossaraiva8213 Yeah I started noticing drummers right around the Tom Petty era and my fascination solidified with Danny Carey from Tool and both Shannon Larkin and Sully from Godsmack. Now I can not stop watching them and it sparked to the point where I wanted to learn myself. I used to dabble back in the day but, sadly do not own a set anymore but hope to get back to it soon.

@@fernandofernandez2197 oh for sure!!
Did you see that Paulina won drummer of the year yesterday?
I did! I have a special reaction video going up on Wednesday 😉
@@DaneBramageROCKS christ, Tool has some fantastic drumming!!
I also have to add that whoever did the drumming in The Cure's song Burn is a genious.
Just realized that I've seen that drumvideo before many years ago, and I didn't know WHO it was then! I think it was way before Dust to Dust, if you know what I mean =)
I do and yes, they are way more recognizable/popular now!! 🤘⚡Keep on Rockin'⚡🤘
Don’t recall their names
There were drummers that fronted Big Bands in the ~40s-50s.
Female singer/drummer from ~60s~70s The Carpenters.
Santana’s wife?
Have loved drum/percussion , but Pau Pau is #1 fav
Yes! Karen Carpenter. 💙 Exceptional voice and a very talented drummer! 🥰🎶
I believe she was 15 years old singing creep
Sounds like she was 18, coming right out of the COVID lockdown. (or so the popular response indicates)
Cobus is a drummer I think from South Africa who is known for his flamboyant drumming style. Pau saw a video of him and wanted to.learn how to do it too! This was her finished product.
Yeah I found the OG video! Pretty neat.
Damn onion ninja
Oh snap, Drum and Onion Ninja! DON!!
