Classic TV Theme: Pensacola Wings of Gold (two versions • Stereo)

James Brolin is the Colonel in charge of forming an elite Marine task force. Though the acting wasn't prime time quality the first season was well received by fans, but an unexplained revamp in season two (leaving a cliffhanger unresolved) left viewers confused. The show got a new theme and the on-the-ground drama got soapier, though Sandra Hess was a welcome addition. After three seasons expenses and corporate shuffles combined to end the saga. The show was actually filmed at Miramar Marine air base in San Diego (hence the mountains, not a feature of Pensacola), conveniently next door to the Segall studios. Theme for season one is by John E Nordstrum (confirmed by ASCAP and commenter @Michel-uf1ip). ASCAP says Joseph Vitarelli composed the season two/three theme.

Theme One is definitely from John Nordstrom. There is a version of it on his soundcloud page. Along with music from the show.

Well great show! Hopes David we have to do "The Tortellis" (a spinoff of the 80s hit "Cheers") and the 90s Fox show "Strange Luck" to go next!

I agree with you their as well, I found Original much better and not only that, after season 1,I found after season 1 ,James Brolin made it too Baywatchy, because James Brolin had a lot of input into that show, which people don't realise.
