  • With 36 points tonight, Cam Thomas sets a new mark for most points scored by a reserve in a team's season opening game (since 1970-71 when starters were officially tracked), passing Ricky Pierce of the Bucks (35 PTS, November 3, 1989, MIL@BOS).
    Donovan Mitchell led the Cleveland Cavaliers with 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists on the way to a 114-113 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Max Strus added 27 points (7-13 3PT FG), along with a career-high 12 rebounds and 2 assists as Darius Garland totaled 15 points and 5 assists for the Cavaliers. Cam Thomas led the Nets with 36 points (13-21 FG), 3 rebounds, and 2 assists while Mikal Bridges added 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

    Brooklyn obviously doesnt know how to manage the talent on their roster. This dude has been a bucket since the KD Kyrie trade. He barely got minutes in the playoffs after being one of the best offensive players down the stretch of the season. He could be a legit go to scorer but the Nets are holding him back from time on the floor. Either the play the man or trade the man.

    Is anyone curious if he will ever get to do this at the highest level? Or will the nets waste his potential. I don’t see why a lot of contenders wouldn’t trade for him in the future if he proves he can be a stable/efficient scorer and not a liability on defense for years to come. I think that teams need more time to asses but he is definitely on a hand full of scouting reports as it is and will continue to get better as time goes on

    Cam Thomas can shoot but he's got ways to go in polishing his shot selection down the stretch. Three bodies guarding right lane with so much more space to shoot from the left side.

    He should be starting don't think I have ever seen him have a bad game, meanwhile dinwiddie is playing at the 2 and got 5 points and Simmons is playing at the 1 and got 4, he at least deserves more minutes

      Players points don’t equate to impact remember that Simmons having 5 points also had 10 assists and 9 rebounds or smth like that his impact on the game was huge

    • @baronsamedi4239
      @baronsamedi4239 8 месяцев назад +1

      He also was 2 for 6 and a minus 6. Dinwiddie and Claxton were even worse. I agree you have to have a facilitator out there, but unless Simmons has a dunk, he shouldn't shoot at all. You need to score points to win and Dinwiddie and Simmons aren't that. They should give Thomas a shot at the 2. Dinwiddie can back up Simmons or vice versa.

    The Nets need to put this dude in the starting line-up because he's Looking like 2019 Harden right now I'd rather people compare this dude to Harden instead of Poole to Harden because Thomas is way better than Poole the fact that people are comparing Poole to Harden is blasphemous because Poole will never lead a team like the Wizards to the Playoffs let alone lead a team to the Playoffs that was just as garbage as the 2012-13 Rockets team Harden had.

    Cam Thomas' points are empty stats because he can't do ANYTHING else. Booker once dropped 70, but because he sucked at defense and everything else at the time, those stats were empty. When Beal was dropping 30ppg in washington,those stats were empty because he could not do everything else efficiently.
