    I ran a 2006 Columbia with the Benz engine hauling end dump local for a couple years. Never had a problem with it. Ran it hard too.

    Had a FLD back in the day,solid rig. Pretty good deal @ 15k. A little bit here,little bit there, it'll be a nice ride driver.

    You're money ahead even if you have to inframe that motor..Keep up the maintenance and get some synthetic oil in them rears and tranny..maintenaince really important running the lease roads..

  • @pontiacreddz4021
    @pontiacreddz4021 4 года назад

    Good job excellent buy time to make some money. Bigger sleeper box and even if you have to do an inframe you good for another 10 years as long as they rock and roll the maintenance is kept up religiously who say you gotta have the latest and greatest to stack paper. Keep on with the keeping on I’m still out here with a 1985 Kenworth W900 I bought in 1987 I’ve done on complete frame off rebuild may do one more before it’s over and they find me stuck to my mattress in my sleeper at some truck stop.

    And please put a fuse inline to whatever wiring you run directly from the batteries. Preferably close to the power source. Prevent electrical fire.
    Roll on driva✌🏾

  • @markm0000

    The best looking truck is a paid off truck with zero emissions. Doesn’t matter what engine it’s got, if it still has paint, or if you have to use a eLog. This is a good working truck. However, get those wires fixed so they are reliable and you have solid connections.

    Get some rear fenders, to help keep your truck clean. I'm headed out Monday to start hauling crude. Hope to bump into you sometime.

  • @dmbcjs44
    @dmbcjs44 5 лет назад +4

    Good deal on that truck. Not a big fan of the Mercedes engine but as long as she burning fuel them wheels are turning. Always a plus when you have a truck that runs good with no big overhead like 600.00/wk payments. Would buy a pre DEF/DPF well maintained truck any day over a newer truck with DEF.

  • @tonym109
    @tonym109 5 лет назад +4

    You better put full fenders on rear if you put a window in back of sleeper. And still cross your 🤞🏾it don't shatter.
    Get electric cordless grease gun. Makes it easy

  • @otrogreandcorgi9818

    Hey thanks for making the video. I'm personally looking for something with a 60 series. long enough to be able to fit a battery Apu on it with Shore power rechargeable. But short enough to easily be functional in most of America.
    Remove the passenger seat and put the refrigerator right there if necessary. bake the passenger seat area basically like a kitchen.
    That apparatus behind the sleeper that's the PTO equipment isn't it?
    I figure that space could be better used for an OTR truck.
    And for heat reduction reasons. If I can just find a double bunk stubby truck like that I think I might be in business.
    Side note. When you made that comment about a 60 series I clap my hands together. Because that's the motor I'm looking for. Mostly because parts are everywhere and it's cheap to work on and durable.
    The 60 series is the Rocky Balboa of Motors. It keeps taking a beating and keeps coming back ready to fight.

    I bet now they know the weak points and location and the make of the truck, ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME ANDREW!!!

      Jon Scott the rings on your pistons are letting gases slip into the crankcase. That drops power and you get diesel mixing with your oil. After a while the oil stops lubricating and the engine is trashed.

    • @Darth-Nihilus1
      @Darth-Nihilus1 5 лет назад +1

      Rings went or they weren't seated right

      Foxx get a license and get some experience with a company since your under 21 you can’t leave your state in a rig so buying a truck for local gigs my not be a smart play but that depends of your area and freight... patience is key in trucking, crawl before you walk buddy dont rush it you may regret it
