I realize that Lower Decks relies on all the groundwork and lore from previous series and movies, but in the case of Lower Decks, the sum is greater than its parts.
Lower Decks is THE BEST 'Star Trek' series or movie in the last 20 years. Period.
Ending it after 5 seasons is a shame and stupid, especially considering that people still want the show. This sucks.

What I would really love to see is an episode about the Romulan supernova, leading to Spock and Nero getting pulled into the black hole - and thereby making a link between the prime timeline and the Kelvin timeline.
Because around the time when the first movie came out in 2009, there was a graphic novel published called "Countdown," which was the official prequel to the 2009 movie. However, one thing Roddenberry always declared was that it is part of the cannon only if it makes it to the screen. Unfortunately, "Countdown" is not consistent with the events described in "ST Picard," and therefore, "Picard" cancels out "Countdown."
There are only 2 series that take place close to the time of the Romulan supernova: "Lower Decks" and "Prodigy."
I hope one of these series actually brings up the events of the supernova.

I admit it has been awhile since I have watched the show but I do recall that Boimler's clone was killed. They had an entire episode with Brad dealing with William's death.

What if…… they are cancelling Lower Decks because, with their promotions to Lt. JG’s, they aren’t TECHNICALLY Lower Deckers anymore…. What if we are getting an all new series with them in higher ranked roles? One can hope….
