This is a really good video, it provides a detailed description of the codes and breaks down diseases to very specific detail. Very different from the ICD-9
I have a very hard time understanding my class, but with this videos, I think I will survive. thank you, these videos are very good to my for my class.
3:30 reminds me of an SNL skit mocking the genius behind complicating the system with an exaggerated amount of codes. As someone not yet an expert in coding, this video was explained well.
This was great, I been tryin to find out about "coding certification test online" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Lukesey CPC Carnage - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my m8 got great success with it.
Are the new additions adequately publicized? I see advertisements about Gaming Disorder but Not C-PTSD, a disorder deemed worse than PTSD (hence the Complex) and where something like Gaming Disorder Might have as the source!
basically your just making a great classification booklet history of a certain type of event: disease, area of the affected, type of, classification of. its quite advance BUT there are case to case basis i mean not all the patients are equal is this perhaps differential diagnosis to perform by individuals who are computer literate but not medical.
If I was a medical coder by age 18, I should have be making almost 60k right now. I am such a loser. 😤😪 I didn’t took the exam license because I didn’t had the money and didn’t have the confidence to pass the exam. 🙄 Medical coder should be a great job!!! I bet! 😪 The video made more sense now. Hiccps is a bit harder for me though..
The ICD 10 is one of the most stupid things as the CCI. They now have so many codes for everything and procedures that are not dissimilar it is an issue for any student or HIM worker to be able to get the credit to find the correct codes. The ICD 9 lasted a good number of years. The ICD -10 only a few and they want revised editions coming as they want more specificity for everything. This means that it could be that the ICD and CCI will no longer be very useful other than for very general/unspecified documentations. Snomed is much more pragmatic and straightforward to use and easier to learn and apply for students and HIM workers and may be a good one to incorporate in for this reason
