Great to see an air-cooled RD with its only major fault rectified - its footepgs in the right place, under the rider's hips ....... ..... .which is where Yamaha finally put them on the LC RDs. They were amongst the first makers to do this on a mass-produced bike - yhey were and are such a great company. Would be nice if this RD still had pillion-pegs, though.
First RD I rode it was love at first sight. I raced motocross and first time on the road, loved the power and wheelies. I was lucky enough to have a Daytona Special RD 400 F, I dream about her all the time. :)

Can I ask how the characteristics of the bike change? This one sounds a bit more like stock than others. Does it surge much at part throttle? Really like that you can keep the centre stand with the JL.

I had the exact same RD WHEN I WAS 17. 59 NOW LOOKING FOR ANOTHER ONE. HAD GREAT TIMES AND RACING AT BRIDGEHAMPTON RACE TRACK HERE ON LONG ISLAND. HOW MUCH FOR THE BIKE?

Looks like a 1978 RD 400 E, the only year in North America they came in this colour.
Are them exhaust polished stainless or chrome please , Bike is awesome well done
I see the JL sticker or plate on the pipes, but never heard of those. Heard of J&R. Do you know what year they were made?
Jim Lomas pipes are very popular pipes. He's based out of GB but Economy Cycle sells them when in stock.
