Russian “roofers” climb to dizzying heights to capture the perfect selfie, becoming internet celebrities along the way. But roofing isn’t just about danger and adrenaline, Kirill Vselensky told VICE News correspondent Gianna Toboni. “It’s a way to have adventure without leaving the city.”
Some of Vselensky’s more than 50,000 Instagram followers now pay him for tours, and corporate sponsors are starting to fund even wilder stunts. “It’s my main source of income,” he said.
When he’s traveling, Vselensky roofs to learn about a new city from an aerial perspective. “I was in Istanbul where we climbed the Blue Mosque, and in Cairo I climbed the Egyptian pyramids,” he added.

Don't want to ruin it for you, but what you saw there is virtually the only block of skyscrapers in the whole of Moscow. Although central Moscow is very beautiful; if you want to see the skyscrapers you would be better of visiting New YorkXD

The Moscow Skyline is more of an ugly place, actually. The historical center of the city is much more beautiful, I assure you. You should come and see for yourself :)

Would it hurt them to invest in a parachute and also in cords. That's ok, you can climb everything you like but why not take precautions ? Not only for yourself but also to protect others.

Roofers started being more and more on the pandemic lockdown, almost in every roof we had them. Even teenagers started. Russian really can't stand routine, and when a Russian gets bored he always looks for as we say, adventure to his ass.

What's this key thing opener ?
Penn Lin Many Russian buildings have doors with an electric magnetic lock which are opened with this piece of plastic with another magnet inside which you hang on your keys. You simply touch that key attachment against a panel on the entry code part of the entrance and the electric magnet is disabled for a few seconds. It saves you from having to enter the entry code. Some such key attachments are universal to multiple entrances.
How do ppl start doing this? It looks fun but idk where to start
Matt just start climbing things local to you.. and hope you don't fall haha. I enjoy climbing trees in the summer. It's fun to see how high you can get and on a windy day you sway at the top.
Patrick West the only thing I could climb is trees, but even that would be hard cuz the branches are pretty high up. If I tried climbing ppls houses I'd probably get arrested or shit

Matt yeah I don't recommend climbing people's houses lol I don't think your neighbors would appreciate that. I feel you with the branches being high up. I normally have to go off the beaten trail to find a good climbing tree. I find pine and oak to be the best for climbing too.
Patrick West Thx. I'm 30 mins away from city and there's a shit load of cranes everywhere, so I have something to climb when I get more experienced. My biggest worry about that is being seen by security, cops or nark strangers
I hope none of these young people cut their life short with these extreme risks, although I can understand the appeal-
