The cosmic world has gifted us a man of extreme heavenly talent- Mike Dawes you are heaven sent and thank you grim the depths of all that is alive and good to put this beauty you possess in our in my life. I am married to your music and will forever be true with my love faithful Marianne Drake
Got to be top of the class for this type of playing? Very accurate and amazing skills, normally an engineer would spend days mixing shit like that, YOU ARE DOING IT ON THE FLY! Respect and very nice!
So unorthodox so sounds are insane, as I said on previous post never heard of him b4, but will watch his new posts with interest, the hippies got talent lol.
Andy W , he must have invisible fingers because he’s playing a solo only while the loop he created is playing in the background. Yes, I have seen his lesson on polyrhythmic playing. Watch again
At around the 3:20 mark before and after he even stops and the loop is playing. To suggest that he’s the flash and moves so fast that his hands don’t move yet a rhythm is playing is daft and ignorant
Been walking home; ever since I was born. Can't even walk along; that winding road. I pinch myself, is this just a dream Now I seek, that; that that.... I must be in a mistake; caring on that one thing In mind, out of body...can't help it while I weep....
Just in case folks think "this is just looping trickery", no, it's not. I saw him last night at SJ Jazz Winterfest 2020, and he is amazing. Was 30' away and watching him with my binoculars most of the show. Yes, he will throw down a loop for a percussion/bass line (he did his version of Zep's "when the levee breaks"), but there is A LOT going on over the top. More importantly, musical, emotional, creative. My only critique is sometimes he can border on the excessive-. My preference, don't over spice the food, or throw too many spices into one recipe. Otherwise, what is it? But the guy is a gem (and seems to be truly nice, and down to earth). I look forward to seeing him many more times!
I asked him last night after the show if Hedges was an influence/inspiration. He sorta looked at me like I was crazy (perhaps) and said Hedges was one of his main gurus.
and then guthama?.. come on.. tell us about it...then you would... practice...aaaaand..PLAY IT??? ridiculous to ask for tabs buddy...this is waaaaay beyond your, mine and nearly the rest of the world's abilities....so just FORGET IT BRO!😉
I like Stevie Ray Vaughan and his way of playing "Superstition", but I like also your way of playing, the différent tempo is so nice ! Of course, I like fingerstyles because of tapping and the way of touching the strings. Amazing and bluesy.
Alicia Crawley Clapton said that after hearing Hendrix! Just work at it. If your heart and soul is in being the best you can be, then this is possible!🕶
@mipmipmipmipmip I gota say a lot of talent. A gift even. I have little talent for guitar, but I practice more than most people, I suspect. every chance I get there's a guitar in my hand. All that practice for all these years has really only polished up the turd that is my playing, and a polished turd is still a turd. But you know, I love it and play for me. And that is what really matters, play for you, if someday you achieve Mike Dawes level, great, if not then who really cares anyway.
I think this is in DADGAD tuning ,Mike's some other songs like Boogie shred is in DADGAD. This tuning is great for percussive finger style playing. So there is a chance that this might be in DADGAD tuning.
If we ever send someone to mars to represent earth, mike is the man with tommy Emanuel flying the rocket 🚀
This is some gorgeous megga talented dude., how does he do it,?
Im just mesmerised !!!!
Much love❤
I was mad with the world 5 minutes ago; I'm happy again this is pure talent.
Hey everyone, the new video for 'Overload' is now on my RUclips channel. Enjoy!
You're an inspiration man. There's a special feel in your sound. Always great to listen and learn something new.
Thank you.
Does your guitar have a baritone scale? Looks long, but maybe I'm just trippin'.
I can listen or watch this for hours on end. He can play one song for the whole show and I wouldn't care!
The most talented guitarist I’ve seen or heard
HOLY SHIT! Freaking mind blowing, everything I’ve heard you do is stunningly beautiful. Am I the only one wishing it would just go on and on?
Great tasteful cover, such a great melody. Together Alone is low key my fav CH album. Bravo mate from NZ
At one time I thought the "Ventures" were top of the food chain, along comes Mike Dawes. A genius. How can it possibly improve? Time will tell.
Dear beloved Eric Roche you are recorded in our history in our mind. We MISS U
Man I wish Stevie could see this.
Savage bro
gairsandGod You don't thing God has a RUclips account? He's like, "Stevie, you gotta see this" and shows him this vid on his GPhone 7 plus.
David D Stevie ain't dead dude. That said God probably still did what you said
I think hearing it is more important
So does he
Great use of looper, ideas galore popping out of his playing. Really damn good
I never get tired of watching this. Mike Dawes you're the man

Mike, you are always amazingly original!! Brilliant!!!!
Amazing Mike !
They're going to have to start making tabs 3D because of Mike Dawes...
Richard Tolbert 🤣🤣🤣😎
Visit GuitarSteam for true 3D tabs! We're waiting for all of you there!!! Come on! :D
Or in Braille.
That is the best comment ever!!
Come on Richard Tolbert 🤣
Never underestimate the power of a loop pedal in the hands of a talented dude.
He's not looping.
he is looping when he starts the bass line dude
He really isn't. I've seen him explain and demonstrate how he does it. NO loops.
I am fascinated with your playing! I would love to hear you do this with a professional vocalist!
1Greydad Any vocalist would spoil this because sadly, they open their mouth.
This has plenty of melody, and in a lot of his covers he usually incorporates the melody of the singing in some way. He's perfect all by himself 😁
Thank you
OUTSTANDING. REALLY IMPRESSIVE!
Been walking home; ever since I was born.
Can't even walk along; that winding road.
I pinch myself, is this just a dream
Now I seek, that; that that....
I must be in a mistake; caring on that one thing
In mind, out of body...can't help it while I weep....
Mike Dawes rocks.
Who could dislike this video, my goodness, amazing talent!
People who are jealous they can't do this
just absolutely brilliant
I saw Stevie Wonder live in the mid 80s -- this versionis amazing. Wow.
Now this is talent... you have to enjoy a artist with this attitude and creativity in his music .. love it ...
This man is INSANE.
Loved every minute of it!!
Outstanding originality.
Sublime display of percussive elements. Mike dawes is in a league of its own!!
There's no limit of what you can do with that guitar -referring to Mike Dawes-awesome!
Beautiful. Grazie. 🎉

Magnifique version!
Bad ass! Sorta like SIC! Awesome talent. 🎸🎶🎻

Got so lost in this performance that i was applauding at the end like i was in the audience!
Wow! Jaw dropping use of the instrument
Mike has the funk down!
Awesome!
I think there's a line between "Being phenomenally awesome" and "I sold My soul to the devil" This dude crossed over to the latter 100%
At his level. I think the devil would sell his own soul to Mike! :)
On Time !...........Nice.
crazy performance loved it ... Feel Free !!! ;)
This is incredible! I'm going to play around with this later and see if I can put it together!
Did you? I bet you didn't.
damn it. In my next life, when I am 3 years old, I will wish for the first guitar and practice every day.
4:31 - 4:36 sounds like a nice tribute to Spare Change by Michael Hedges!
pixiecatneuter
Spot on, good ear!
I asked him last night after the show if Hedges was an influence/inspiration. He sorta looked at me like I was crazy (perhaps) and said Hedges was one of his main gurus.
Oooh this is fenomenal bravo maestro!!!

Love the style, it's the same way I play..Heart, soul, and Body.
Incredible
I like Stevie Ray Vaughan and his way of playing "Superstition", but I like also your way of playing, the différent tempo is so nice !
Of course, I like fingerstyles because of tapping and the way of touching the strings.
Amazing and bluesy.
brilliant music
I am not sure if this erformance inspires me, or makes me giving up all my efforts!
haha best comment
Alicia Crawley Clapton said that after hearing Hendrix! Just work at it. If your heart and soul is in being the best you can be, then this is possible!🕶
Anythings possible with enough practice and vision

THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEO (MEMORYSTAR)
Whoooooooo!!!
I saw him open up for Justin Hayward in S. Orange. This guy is good!
wow.. it's very enjoyable
Serious SKILLS!
From the soul!
Un génie!
whatha vibe!!!
Very cool, wish I could play like this
So talented
Ah, the reincarnation of Michael Hedges! Yes, that's a compliment. Big one, in fact.
Does anyone have any idea what kind of guitar and tuning this is? It sounds freaking great.
That’s a Benjamin guitar, mike knows the luthier personally and has him glue on those wooden scratch pads, I think it’s standard tuning
I think this is in DADGAD tuning ,Mike's some other songs like Boogie shred is in DADGAD. This tuning is great for percussive finger style playing. So there is a chance that this might be in DADGAD tuning.
This is one of the few times I've seen a bead of sweat on Mike's brow, and that was probably just the lights.
Smooth
one man band love it
Mike , Are you using the "Black Angel "here ? Your range of tone is Fantastic !!
@Tristan Lavictoire Grazie Tristan !
This guy is either a serious freak of nature or an alien. Fucking incredible
