  • Henry McKenna Single Barrel 10 Year!
“Henry McKenna Single Barrel is the only extra aged Bottled-in-Bond Single Barrel Bourbon. This high proof, Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon was named for Henry McKenna, the Irish immigrant who adapted his family’s whiskey recipe to work the grains he found in Kentucky. Henry McKenna is the longest aged Bottled-in-Bond available today, resting in the barrel through 40 Kentucky seasons. Critics agree that this is perfectly balanced Bourbon.”

    Yessss! 🎉
Got the video and a new bourbon to try! Thanks man
Might as well share a funny personal story about this bottle. I was stationed in Camp Pendelton when I first discovered it. I loved it and would save it for rainy days after the field. I had drank about half of it (over several weeks don’t worry) and left it in my cabinet in my room.
Well, one night I was out with a friend of mine and another friend of ours had texted him asking if he had any liquor he could have. My friend said “yes there’s a bottle of vodka in the freezer you can have”. Great!
A couple hours later he shows me a snapchat video of our friend chugging my Henry Mckenna and absolutely downing it.
Needless to say I was reimbursed with a brand new bottle.

I love this bottle but for the life of me I can't pay $70 for it I paid $60 the first time but I haven't found it at that price for a long time😢

Oh! So that means you'll eventually get around to reviewing James E Pepper 1776 bourbon and rye. I'll wait. 😂🤣

I keep hearing Henry McKenna 10 Year BIB is hit or miss, due to being a single barrel. I have 3 different bottles and all are fantastic. 🥃

For a single barrel, they vary so much. Unlike many other single barrels. Some blame QC. I’ve always have had good luck with Henry McK

The same experience here with Henry, It's always available here in Northern CA. For 50-70 $,, I buy at least 2 bottles a year, and it tastes the same as always. Delicious! 😂

100 percent hit or I wouldn't say miss but just okay. The bottle I picked up was not nearly as nice as the pour I had at a local bar. That one was certainly a honey bottle.

I finally saw this one on the shelf recently and I'm glad I'd seen this review. I can get HH7 for $39-42 any day of the week and I tend to like the sweeter notes in bourbons so I'll definitely keep just saving the $20 and get the HH7

The one I got through allocation in virginia wasn't my favorite. Barrel # 13521 heavy on the leather and tobacco. That is the problem with reviewing single barrels.

It's been impossible to find in MD for years. Literally this morning at my local hillbilly liquor store I got 3 bottles! $59 each.
Thanks for the quick and latest review of this bib 10 year.

I was at my Costco today to get a backup of the HH7 before it’s gone and discovered newly stocked the McKenna. The HH7 was 48.99 and the McKenna 49.99. Tried the McKenna and find it to be quite good. I’m going to plan a blind tasting between the two and maybe throw in the Elijah Craig Small Batch as a third. Thanks for your review, and I think I’ll agree. As much as I already like the McKenna there’s a reason I wanted a back up of the Heaven Hill.

HOLD UP! WAIT A MINUTE!!! I have both the Henry McKenna 10 and the Heaven Hill Bonded 7 year. If they are the same mash bill the nose is muted on the 7yr, more spice and caramel on the 10yr. I had purchased the 7yr after already tasting and then buying a bottle of 10yr McKenna. Not one time did I think... oh this 7yr is just like or similar to 10yr McKenna. So much so that I put my bottle of 7yr in my tucked away in my don't drink it much collection and picked up a backup bottle of McKenna at Costco for 55 bucks!
In my area Heaven Hill 7yr goes for 40-45 dollars and if there is stock at Costco I can get McKenna 10yr for 55 dollars. For me there is no contest the better nose, deeper spice and finish of the McKenna. Something magical happens in 3 more years with that mash bill apparently and Heaven Hill needs to calm down on the 7yr release. Just pack up that 7yr release and bulk up your McKenna 10yr stock! #HeavenHIllDistillery "Stop it... get some help.. wait the extra 3 years"

This particular bottle has to be bottled in bond for 10 whole years and is a single barrel, which is why I think there’s so much variation. I don’t think any single barrel product should be allocated.

I find the Russell ten year good but somewhat underwhelming. The rare breed is better of course the single barrel Russell is better than the ten year but with the extra proof one would expect that. Have never seen the McKenna so can't say anything about it. However I know the Russell single barrel is priced at 64 dollars around me so I'll stay with WT. Enjoy!!

Several years ago I was getting HM 10 yr for $28-$30. I thought it was a nice $30 bourbon. Hard to digest the current $70 price tag.

Those prices shock me! Henry McKenna 10 is $59 in my Maryland area, and I got two Eagle rare 10 for $38.99 each. Small country stores must have better values.
