CSM: Easy, too elementary if I were honest. I still do not get what the hype is all about Scrum Alliance's certs.
PSM: The real deal. Hard & to me carries more weight on your resume.
How I know? Done both basic and advanced levels.

Yes, that's very much the impression I get - but stated far more firmly than I could, without having taken the exams. So, thank you.

First of all, thank you for all these fantastic videos, Mike. I've been watching a lot of them recently as I look to transition out of teaching (in recent years doing leadership roles within schools).
Do you have any advice around breaking into a scrum master or project management role without any hands-on experience of the methodologies that employers require you to have in job descriptions? I'm poised to do a certification and am wondering if this is all I'll need to start applying for jobs with a hope of landing one.

Not to be too pedantic, but the "roles" in Scrum are not called roles anymore, they are called Accountabilities. And there is no accountability called "Development Team", it is simply "Developers" (to avoid the "Scrum Team / Developer Team"-confusion of earlier versions of the Scrum Guide.
Other than that, I like your overview of the two certifications.

There is a wise saying that goes something like this...whatever that comes easy in life usually isnt worth it. Converse is also true.
