This is the TODAY show from September 11, 2001 9/11/2001, on after a commercial break at 8:00am. This is as far as I know the only copy on the Internet EVER.
It looked like any other ordinary day, except 45 minutes later, everything in America would change, I bet these people didn't see anything coming at all. RIP 9/11.
At this point, no one from NBC, "Today" and people who are happy at Rockefeller Center could imagine what was about to happen and that this day would be marked in history
Just 1 minute earlier American Airlines Flight 11: a Boeing 767 aircraft, departed Logan Airport at 7:59 a.m. en route to Los Angeles with a crew of 11 and 76 passengers, not including five hijackers. The hijackers flew the plane into the northern façade of the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City at 8:46 a.m.
So sad seeing how this started off as any other day. 😢 Little did anybody know that this would become one of the darkest days this world had ever seen. May all the innocent people who passed away that day Rest In Peace.

This was the exact moment the plane was taking off, it's hard to believe it was going on during such a peaceful morning

I was either on the train heading too school or already @school @8am that morning.
I was 4 years old and I lived across the Pacific ocean.
I was 1 and 3/4 of a year old sleeping in a crib in southern California.
I was 2 months shy of turning 4. Had just started preschool a week earlier and had been in New York visiting my grandmother that previous weekend
To see Katie Couric smile and say "panty lines" on the family friendly Today Show does something to me.
