"Atomic Heart is a deeply ambitious, highly imaginative, and consistently impressive atompunk-inspired attempt at picking up where the likes of BioShock left off - something it’s done with a lot of success. It certainly makes missteps, chiefly with an irritating leading man and a self-indulgent habit of using the same tired tropes it tries to make fun of, but this stern, superpowered, and stringently solo shooter has worked its way under my skin despite these flaws. Atomic Heart didn’t always blow me away, but it definitely has the ticker to punch well above its weight."

There is no potential for game almost a decade in developement
This is the first game for a studio that came out of nowhere. The music, the graphics, enemy animations, details of ingame models are absolutely insane. That said, sound-design, Dialoge and some combat moments need a lot of work. Solid game.

The fact that they managed an 8/10 score on the first try is quite reassuring for Mundfish considering all the hell they went through just to get AH out the door.

Just for the fact that this is the first release from a new studio, with all the other AAA releases having no excuse, I’m not disappointed and excited to see their next project.
How can you be so confident, and yet so wrong? This is their second release and their first was a calamitous failure - which pissed off lots of people who bought it - called "Soviet Lunapark" which they've now abandoned development on. They asked Steam to delist it, possibly to avoid bad press or convince people like you that Atomic Heart is their first game, but you can still Google it and see what reviewers and people on the discussion boards had to say - it was far from positive.

Look up why you shouldn't buy this game they sell ur IP voice recordings and info to the Russian military look up the video it's facts
If your waiting until the 21st to play you can play it today if you do the "new zeland trick" you can play it 13 hours sooner

The intro part at the start when your car gets lifted into the sky by a robot and you get a guided tour of the sights was absolutely awesome.
Great game im especially amazed with the enemy variety, score and graphics

Now obviously, if it was still in Russia they would be supporting Russia without a choice as the money feeds back into their economy however that isn't the case anymore. Stop spreading lies about the dev team.
Also isn't it kinda weird that people are suddenly jumping the gun on this game just because the devs happen to be Russian? So much misinformation I've seen online regarding them apparently being "pro Russian" or against Ukraine.

Gameplay-wise not my type of game, BUT
the VISUALS are absolutely stunning and creative at the same time!
Maybe you should play it with a trainer program with one shot kills or something. Just explore visual artstyle.

The level design and attention to detail is incredible, there is so much variety in the way this game looks

You are absolutely correct. Take a look at the review of Hogwarts Legacy by gamespot, they gave it a 6 and after every 40 words they had to mention trans people, rights, charities..blah blah blah
Considering this is the first game from this studio I'm impressed plus some problems found in this game can be fixed with a patch.

As a fan of fallout, and BioShock, looks very promising. Was looking more for the RPG element of talking to people seeing how the dialogue works.
Its not really RPG heavy, so dont expect branching dialogue trees and all ..

Flashes of far cry in a bioshock environment playing as duke nukem in the soviet union.
Im just happy this game actually got made and wasn't like other promising tittles that never see the light of day

Looks like some of the best low budget euroank ever made it seems, it gives any AAA game a run for its money.
Between Metro and Atomic Heart it seems only indie devs are making those types of fps games anymore.

Yeah, its from a tiny under 100 employee studio that scraped the budget from multiple sources over the years.
If not for Nvidia and Microsoft investing into it back around 2018 it would have never been made, rest probably came from the publisher, Focus entertaiment.

To have different reload animations depended if you either fully used a clip or exchange it half way through is something that should be used in future games as the new standard.

I’m pretty sure patches have made this game a lot better than release, cause I’m playing it now and it’s amazing especially gameplay.
Honestly surprised people aren’t talking about how insane the graphics are, especially at 4K at ‘Atomic’ settings look better than most current triple A titles by a long shot. Also runs like a dream on PC too at native, or DLSS Quality for 100 + fps.
Its only shows that graphics is not the most important thing to gamers, game play and combats are. Which are not the greatest in this game.
This game reminded me so much of bioshock but dang this game sure did make me hate unlocking doors so much like every 2 seconds you have to unlock a door

It's nice to finally see something come out that shows how beautiful Russia is. The cultural and artistic history deserve this celebration. The media has been too hard on them, lately. Atomic Heart will hopefully help put that to rest.

This is the first fps I'm picking up since bioshock and Titanfall 2. Looks really promising especially if devs iron out the bugs. As a big loz fan, the large number of puzzles found ingame is just icing on the cake

So in short Atomic Heart is okish plot and story wise but awesome gameplay wise.
Pretty much yeah, and throw in immersion because the graphics and animations are breath taking
I'm having an absolute blast with this, definitely recommend it

There are some bug issues (much less than Cyberpunk 2077), but in what AAA game doesn't have them?)
Great immersive sim in the style of Soviet science fiction.
If you liked Prey (2017) or Bioshock, then there's no objective reason why you shouldn't like Atomic Heart.

Is that all you care about, looks? Lol well go ahead, the game has Denuvo which slows it down, devs say you have to use DLSS to compensate for it. There's also no FOV slider and mouse acceleration is non-togglable. The low FOV and camera shake will make you nauseous.
@@RawbLV you can always get the developers build which has no denuvo in it.. and the game is a smooth optimised experience, anyone who can run Gears 5 can run this game. Im literally playing it on an i5 2400 rx 580 4gb all settings at ultra and its extremely smooth, much like how unreal engine 4 was used in Gears 5.. and according to comparisons online, the version of denuvo runs even better than the dev build, the game is so optimized, not even Denuvo's presence affects its performance what so ever
