finished it. it's like bioshock but with robots and in a sci-fi version of the ussr. very good. they've put a lot of work in making the shooting and gunplay feel great, it's very smooth and satisfying. the puzzles are challenging but not too difficult, and they've fixed most of the bugs that were present on release date. i loved the talking dead people. i found it hilarious and in a few cases they were well incorporated in the game. I wish they'd spent more time on the story however. it's not particularly engaging. we know that the agent p3 and sechenov were supposed to be very close as sechenov saved his life, but the game mostly fumbled this. there were also scenes in the underground where the ussr had been doing experiments on people, and P3 is disgusted by it, but then he just quickly got out. I was expecting something more story wise, but nothing kinda happened, the visuals were there, but the story was missing. The open world also feels hard to explore. like you can't put a marker and follow a path to go from a to b. most of the rooms are also static, there's not a lot of things you can throw around or destory, which is weird because one of the powers you get lets you throw stuff at enemies, but there's nothing to throw.
Honestly I never take advantage of NG+ in games that have it. I always prefer the progression of abilities, but especially so when a single playthrough isn't enough to unlock everything like in Deus Ex or Sekiro. It makes the run & build take on a life of it's own instead of just having everything at my disposal. To each their own though.
I hated Major P3, more than I hated Ethan, and that's saying A LOT. Like, before I got done doing the prologue tour I was looking for a dialog adjustment option. Very fun game though
I recently finished the game and I didn't know you could use Russian voices with english subs... The english dub is quite bad I would've love to play the game like this :(
I see comments that it runs terribly on Series X and higher end PC’s….but it runs BEAUTIFULLY on Series S 60fps 1080p. I’m loving it! Certain to be a Cult Classic!
So far 2023 is being better to vidya than all previous years imo, Hogwarts Legacy and Atomic Heart are amazing and definitely the devs loved the project, what's so rare nowadays.
Will you ever do a full review of the game after you have beaten it? I'm very curious how you feel about it's ending. I also think the game is best played in English first so you don't get lost in the story because a lot of the details would be easy to miss and wind up being quite important, but a second palythroughi n Russian for the vibes of it would be a good way to get the full soviet period vibes.
Despite what a lot of reviewers are saying I feel like this is something special. Yes it has its flaws but the world they have brought to life is fantastical and intriguing. Only a little ways in and I can’t wait to have the time to dive back in and see what’s going to happen next. Anyone who is playing take your time with the game and take in all the environmental storytelling. Really hoping for a new game plus option soon.
Probably put in about 6 hours and the game is pretty and fun. I will say that I wish the protag and the "glove" would talk less. It's reminding me too much of Forspoken with how the protag constantly shits on the "glove". The slow strafing annoys me from time to time also.
I’m really enjoying the game as well, I switched to the Russian audio dialogue because the line delivery from the protagonist’s actor was borderline intolerable for me. Like… why did they direct him to deliver every line like he was a 14 year old jock who just punched a hole in his parent’s drywall. I do the find the “crispy critters” phrase to be unintentionally hilarious though.
imo the combat feels weightless. constantly hitting enemies who barely even flinch not to mention the constant backtracking to get some key or item just to progress makes this game feel dated and quite frankly a chore to play
Absolutely amazing review. Thank you. This to me seems like a mix of Bioshock Infinite and Singularity. Good to know that it runs well on a Gtx 1070. What bothers me is constant comparesson on Bioshock. I didn't like that game at all, in fact I consider it exceptionally bad. However, many said Dead Space, Half Life 2 and Wolfenstein: New Order and to some extend Dishonored are similar to System Shock which from what I understand Bioshock is something of a soft reboot of System Shock and I consider the games I listed as one of the best. So I am really puzzled what to think of it. Also fuck Denuvo, fucking malware is literally an argument for piracy.
I can't wait for a second game with this because I'm looking at the game or look in the gameplay and yes I'm sorry to say but it does literally just look like BioShock obviously yet it's how can I say that it looks like BioShock one where it's a bit all weird and finicky and brand new but it has detail and atmosphere of infinite haven't played infinite yet I'm still playing BioShock 2 but I've seen what infinite looks like and yeah it's a really dull dystopia and yeah I would want to play a time but obviously right now I'm playing returnal and I need to finish deathloop as well so yeah

Only downside is no new game+ mode I hope 1 day thay add new game+ like how prey added new game plus down the line ans God of War
"Bioshock hole that's existed for the last decade"
someone missed out on Ghostwire
Does it come with a magnifying glass for the subtitles 🤣
I hated Major P3, more than I hated Ethan, and that's saying A LOT. Like, before I got done doing the prologue tour I was looking for a dialog adjustment option. Very fun game though
I'm just here for the ballerina bot babes.
The most important question is what do you rate the sexy robots on a scale from 1 to 10?

You are talking about those red robots?
20/10
Thank gawd for Gamepass
Ayyy I'm also still rocking a 1070 in 2023
I recently finished the game and I didn't know you could use Russian voices with english subs...
The english dub is quite bad I would've love to play the game like this :(
I see comments that it runs terribly on Series X and higher end PC’s….but it runs BEAUTIFULLY on Series S 60fps 1080p. I’m loving it! Certain to be a Cult Classic!
Man 2023 is gonna be great for games.
Great review my friend. You have me excited for sure
People constantly say the game is like bioshock and don’t expand on that thought. The game is nothing like bioshock?
To me it's very bioshock, from the polymer to the animations you get when you upgrade
I have no problems with talkative characters, i think its way better than mute protagonists who shows no emotions.
I'm very much looking forward to playing this game, pre-ordered a few weeks back.
So far 2023 is being better to vidya than all previous years imo, Hogwarts Legacy and Atomic Heart are amazing and definitely the devs loved the project, what's so rare nowadays.
Don’t forget Dead Space remake, a remake that actually does what it’s meant to do for a change
Whats the 0451 thing about? I've seen that in a couple videos.
its a reference to what i believe system shock where the first keycode is just 0451
Love that you're using Russian audio - harašo
Only play in russian, I want to be immersed.
I’m actually enjoying the English translation because of how wack it can be 😂
It can be so bad, and bruh...the first encounter with the upgrading station...I wasn't ready
I do the find the “crispy critters” phrase to be unintentionally hilarious though.
is it just me or does the melee attacks remind me of dead island?
imo the combat feels weightless. constantly hitting enemies who barely even flinch not to mention the constant backtracking to get some key or item just to progress makes this game feel dated and quite frankly a chore to play
So wait for sale or get immediately cuz I’ve seen some stuff and it looks fine but I don’t know if it’s support the company, $60 fine.
This game is actually real?? 😮
What exactly is this game? Is it an immersive sim or not ?
Been thinking about buying this game
I didn't expect to hear Russian language in an English voiced video.
damn you know about Well, Just You Wait! your truly man of culture
Downloaded. Patiently waiting to play on gamepass
At least the robot desires me. I take what I can get.
Prey filled the bioshock hole in my heart
Absolutely amazing review.
Thank you.
This to me seems like a mix of Bioshock Infinite and Singularity.
Good to know that it runs well on a Gtx 1070.
The world building is utterly beautiful and twisted.
The hyper sexualized twins and the over the top horny Nora...is just a bit too much.
Like BioMutant, if the dev's patch in a reduced banter option....it would do a world of good for this amazing game.
was interested but eventually this game just bored me. didn’t do anything very well tbh.
It was an totally epic game for me.
In Russia you don't play game the game plays you
I just wanna play for the unique aesthetic and hope the writing is semi decent
“Unique aesthetic”
Translation:
Big robot mommies
@@ivanivanovitchivanovsky7123 the attractive bots are appreciated, hell they look more like women than most female npcs in recent games- but I genuinely meant the soviet futurism angle, like the parade in the opening
@@donniedewitt9878 I know, I’m just messing with you. Somewhat.
The general aesthetic is pretty cool I agree. Fking love the ball bot boss. I might get the game if i can run it on my laptop.
I couldn't tolerate all the banter. It's endless. I ended up muting the dialogue because I just couldn't tolerate it. Especially because it's never funny or entertaining. The upgrade robot is so embarrassing that I physically cringed when I first heard it. Combat and movement felt incredibly sluggish and clunky. All the best parts of the game feel derivative.
Yeah, I dunno about this one. I feel like calling it a Russian Bioshock is disingenuous. The two games are nowhere near, in any stretch of the imagination, on the same levels of quality.
It's a pretty decent Gamepass title though.
have you played prey 2017 ?
What bothers me is constant comparesson on Bioshock. I didn't like that game at all, in fact I consider it exceptionally bad. However, many said Dead Space, Half Life 2 and Wolfenstein: New Order and to some extend Dishonored are similar to System Shock which from what I understand Bioshock is something of a soft reboot of System Shock and I consider the games I listed as one of the best. So I am really puzzled what to think of it. Also fuck Denuvo, fucking malware is literally an argument for piracy.
Почему то так странно смотреть обзор на игру где вся озвучка на русском
Считаю что игру надо играть именно на Русском. На Русском самая лучшая озвучка
Il defo be buying this awesome looking game 🙌
I can't wait for a second game with this because I'm looking at the game or look in the gameplay and yes I'm sorry to say but it does literally just look like BioShock obviously yet it's how can I say that it looks like BioShock one where it's a bit all weird and finicky and brand new but it has detail and atmosphere of infinite haven't played infinite yet I'm still playing BioShock 2 but I've seen what infinite looks like and yeah it's a really dull dystopia and yeah I would want to play a time but obviously right now I'm playing returnal and I need to finish deathloop as well so yeah
Ta gra jest jak "ruski aparat do świecenia w dupie - nie świeci i nie mieści sie w dupie"
Thank you for not bowing down to Twitter idiots. As much as I root for Ukraine blocking game simply due to Devs nationality is wrong on multiple levels.
It's not just because of devs nationality. See Eurogamer article "Questions remain over Atomic Heart developer's Russian origins"
@@SimplexPL skipped through this trash article with adblocker to reconfirm myself that game journalism is still one of the most pathetic jobs.
"Glorifying soviet union" - game is on development for how long by now, setting wasn't a problem before. Setting is as well over the top af, you may as well say Machine Games glorify third Reich in Wolfenstein remakes.
"Peace blah blah" - company is still based in Russia. Russia has rigorous anti-war laws with actual jail time. That they are very careful about what they say is humanely understandable.
"B..but muh privacy" - there is no actual confirmation on it on software level. In the meantime check up how much information US or Chinese (basically most Us game Devs by now lol) companies collect from you. Don't say its right, but it's normal state of game dev.
Btw, could a Pole like you be less biased?
What bothers me more is other games that are Russian are now instantly bad. Partisans 1941 now biggest flaw is that it is Russian. Men of War as well suddendly is bad (didn't like that one anyway). At least flight community are not bitching about Il-2 Sturmovik game.
What's worse is there is small but dedictated community of Sea Dogs game series. While developers on paper are from Russia, team is split between Russians and Ukranians and is currently on hold because of war. So according to Twitter logic who should we blame or cancel? Personally I don't know, but I do know the ultimate losers are developers themselves and us gamers on that front.
@@aleksapetrovic6519 Pathfinder was held as one of the best Rpg games of recent years, guess it's bad too now. Pathologic 2 is one of the most unique art experiences, guess bad too.
After finishing this game for me personally it’s a 6. Sucks ass that it’s not fun
Спасибо за теплые слова. Мы в России очень надеемся на успех игры
@@vngxrd they just want a good game that was not made by Ukrainians or Poles
omg the dialoge is so cringe especially the English voice overs.
When a little old lady says "eat shit and die" thats when i turned the game off and refunded.
I wanted Russian Bioshock... what i got was Russian Duke Nukem forever
Translation issues (a lot of them). She didn't say eat shit and die in Russian.
The game needs english subtitles for Russian dub, also the main character is terribly unlikable...otherwise great game
lol even how annoying the security dispatch system of Atomic Heart is, its least better than Cyberpunk 2077
I await your sons of the forest review
Man. This for me wanting to play it in Russian.
But I’m even more excited to try this game now. It looks pretty interesting
The voice acting from the upgrade machine was enough for me to never play this game in English. So over the top. Even the delivery as he showed in Russian just felt more natural.
@@bbbbbbb51 yeah Russian just sounds so much better and like you said natural
@@bbbbbbb51 @JustN
You know, reading comments like this while being russian is a surreal thing. Not often we hear praise for our voices in media.
... mostly because it was bad xD How times change.
looks awesome
Hell yeah, I was rooting for this game.
Elephant in the room: is buying this directly supporting the Russian government, given the war?
I don't know if they still have individual businesses there or if it's like China where every business feeds directly into the government due to economic stresses.
Serious question, I'm not seeing people bring up the current situation due to demonetizing topics and expected backlash threatening channel growth.
You support your government wars all the time. Live a little
@@steelbear2063 you don't fucking know me and I'm asking a genuine question here.
I don’t have the answer, but it sounds like you need to do some independent research if you’re not familiar with Russian economy (and want/need to be).
@@Artersa everyone's acting either super evasive or super aggressive over this and that's enough for me to just avoid it until the dust has settled.
this game has some of the worse dlc i have ever experianced and one the least satisfying endings ive seen
