Great video, I found this to be the most helpful and informative of all the YT vids out there on this subject, simple and straightforward, cheers mate 👍
Thanks for the information just quick question i have a 22mm thick doors how much I need to measure from the edge of the door to the centre of the hinge
Thanks for the informative video which I followed. I used the same overlay jig you have to drill the cup hole which worked great but I’ve fitted the door and it keeps snapping open. Any pointers on what is causing it and how I can fix it? Using Blum inset soft close hinges too
I would like some feedback on what track saw you would recommend for me. I do general wood working , not as a job but always like to make stuff. I know Trend is a good make and I think you have one,. Also never used one before, what track would you say to buy if it doesn't come with the saw. Cheers
Iv only used 2 the festool one I have now and the erbauer one before that... I have a video on it if you want to look... also check out Peter Millard channel @10minute workshop he has some really in-depth vids on them and other brands .. the erbauer one was a bloody great saw and came with track would be perfect for diy..
Great video! Im building a shelving unit with cupboard at the bottom out of scaffold boards. Would like an inset install, but not sure with the thickness if the boards...... Any advise? Deffo getting the little jigs!!
Hello. I was watching one of your videos yesterday. You Hanging a oak veneer door. I like to know what drill bit you used to make the holes in the veneer door for the handles and things. Tbsnk you.
hi could you answer a question i have 18mm shaker door and a side panel which 22mm what hinge will be required to bring the door flush with that out side panel
Thanks for the guide. I had already bought my hinges. Couple of things I noticed. I fitted my doors to a void storage in the wall which had a frame around it. My hinges kept going back, is that normal as I needed to fit a stop rail to make them stay flush. I also read somewhere to get an even reveal top and bottom to do for example 98mm on the door but 100mm on the frame but the top hinges lined up and the bottom didn't so I had to redo the bottom hinges. It confused this amateur. 🤔🤣
Ugh - I’ve answered my own question. Yes they can but so much to think about with inset doors with irregular shapes. I’ve made my own RUclips vids on this subject now!
just used my blockscribe jig and the plate position doesnt workout. blum states T(18mm)+ 38.5 giving 56.5mm but the hinge jig measurement is 54mm (for 18mm door). so having to fully wind it back and door sits just over the face frame
Having the same inset doors in my kitchen shaker style but I have a tall integrated fridge and a tall integrated freezer and the hinge is too bulky and they won't open fully without banging on the hinge. Do you have any suggestions to what concealed hinges I can use. Thanks
Every time I install cabinet doors with these scribes I always use this video as a refresher. It’s excellent. Don’t ever delete it!

Blum stuff is great! Good video, that wee jig is great
Excellent video on Hingies installation
Thanks very much
Great vid... just what I was looking for.
How would you measure this if you did not have the jig?
Combination square...

Great information, and to the point. 👍
What was the total distance from the edge of the mounting plate screws, and what sort of screws where they?
Cracking video mate, thank you

Glad it was helpful!

Can these be used for larger understair doors? e.g. if you use 3 hinges per door?
Ugh - I’ve answered my own question. Yes they can but so much to think about with inset doors with irregular shapes. I’ve made my own RUclips vids on this subject now!
Great video, I don't have the plastic jig, is there a way of calculating how far to measure in the distance for the mounting plate for a 27mm door?
I have to exact same question.
Great video but what if im using 15mm mdf (small doors) and the jig only specifies 18 and 22mm doors?
Did you figure this out im also using 15mm doors
I believe you just measure back from the edge 15mm
Where did you get your cordless screwdriver please?
nice & simple. gr8 video
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you so much! Would this work on a cabinet door that is a bit curved?
A bit curved doesn't work on inset doors.
Great video - try keeping music volume uniform with rest of the audio

How do I build a wall desk?
Can you not just measure the internal mount holes by tape measure and a square ? I've already got cup holes in my doors and bought some inset hinges
What do I do if I don't have any jig?
Buy one
Great video! Where did you buy the Jig?
