I was just wondering what the purpose was for removing the large engine from its usual position, but I saw that you have given a wee explanation in the description drop-down. I didn't know if the body was going for scrap or not (although I didn't really think so, given the reasonably good condition it remains in. Hopefully we will see it back out on the main UK railway lines before too long.
HST power car and train look fantastic in the blue Pullman paint work. It’s a credit to all the staff at LSG……👍🏻 You can see why rail tours are expensive when you see an engine lift out of a big work horse like the HST power car. Is that MUT or Paxman Valena engine? Keep the good work guys as stay vacation is the future now Brexit is killing us going to Europe for our holidays lol 😆
It's MTU actually but at least MTU is owned by RR although manufactured in Friedrichshafen and re-manufactured in Magdeburg (both in Germany). Paxman is owned by MAN (German) who closed the Colchester engine plant. Who said they need us more than we need them?

Good to see this looks ok in the diesel pullman colours.

Engine is a Paxman VP 185

The Engine shown being removed from this power car is a paxman vp185 not an MTU. You can also see VP185 stamped onto the Engine multiple times.
@@razor2001wgc I realized that. I was just respectfully pointing out the typo in the original text.
hi there.great video, how was the camshaft damaged ? do you have the Brighton Belle on site ?
I say you should replace it with an MTU TB11 engine from the DB BR 218. Those things are pretty much the closest we have to Valentas nowadays!
Exellent
Love the way plastic hard hats are mandated, they ain’t going to protect you if that motor hits you.
Really interesting content just a shame about the video editing.
Edited for those with very short attention spans!
