- Desi Arnaz was an entertainer that came to America from Cuba at a young age and found success on television alongside his partner Lucille Ball. Together, the two starred in the hit show I Love Lucy, which ran for six seasons throughout the 1950s. The two each gave their all to their respective comedic performances on the show. However, there was one particular line that Desi refused to cross over the course of the show’s run due to strong personal beliefs.

Desi was born in the early 20th century, and his father was the mayor of the second-largest city in Cuba. While this gave young Desi a life of relative ease during his early years, the 1933 Cuban Revolution put an abrupt end to that luxury during the young star’s teenage years. The revolution found his father imprisoned by revolutionaries. Desi’s family was able to free his father, but they were then forced to flee to America. Knowing none of the wealth that they were accustomed to in Cuba, the family was forced to work their way up. They made a living cleaning canary cages and doing other small jobs, allowing Desi to eventually work his way up to becoming the successful performer he became known as.
While these struggles could have made the young Desi grown into a bitter adult, they instead instilled a sense of wonder in the man about the possibilities provided by America to immigrant families such as his. Desi soon became a gigantic patriot and a vocal supporter of the American dream, always maintaining a strong work ethic.
Desi also had other values instilled in him at childhood, and some of these weren’t as positive as his beliefs in hard work and the American dream. He adamantly believed that a woman should be subservient to a man in a marriage, and this hurt his personal relationship with his costar and wife Lucille Ball. Lucille has recalled instances during their marriage where Desi’s personal beliefs got in the way of her happiness, eventually causing the marriage to dissolve. Whether right or wrong, Desi always adamantly stood for his own personal beliefs. Join Facts Verse as we explore why Desi Arnaz refused to film this I Love Lucy scene.

I was a fan and I wish they should have stayed together!
But it's not easy for a wife , to live with a constant cheater!
Trust is wonderful when you are equal partners .... as it should really be if you really love each other!!!!!!!!!!!
Desi loved America. He would break down in tears when he talked about coming here and living the dream. And he lived it to the fullest. A brilliant man, RIP Desi.
Rip a Hollywood legend and a true American desi arnaz
@@HORSEYANIME2024 No adulterer will enter heaven, read a bible, Lucy herself said he expected her to change to catholic with all his adultery. and the CC is corrupt. Jesus told Nicodemus You must be born again to enter heaven. there was no mention of any of them ever being saved.
I began watching I Love Lucy when I was six and, at 72 today, I remain devoted to it and appreciate its wonderful qualities. The cast was outstanding.
It sucks that he’s the only one of the cast who never was nominated for an acting Emmy. He was a good actor!
I know. But remember the prejudice back then. He was dark, black hair, with an accent. He was a cuban. Prejudice has always impede for the truth to be acknowledge. See history of first heart transplant.
@@NancyR.A. He never won an Oscar, but I don't think that it was due to prejudice. That doesn't mean that I'm pretending that he never faced discrimination, but I don't think that's why he didn't win an Emmy. He was a brilliant businessman and was responsible for many of the behind-the-scenes decisions that made "I Love Lucy" a success, but truth be said, he didn't have the raw talent that Lucy, Ethel or Fred had. A similar parallel can be drawn to Sonny and Cher. Sonny was the brains behind Sonny and Cher, but Cher had the raw talent and therefore received the accolades. By the way, since when has having black hair and brown eyes make anyone a victim of discrimination? Do you think that all Americans are blue-eyed blonds? Back in the 1950's, being dark was a plus. That's one of the reasons that women loved Cary Grant and Clark Cable so much! They were "tall, dark and handsome."
@@razojacqueline Lucy and Desi made the show, but we are talking about Desi on his own. He wasn't a bad actor, was a brilliant businessman and was a good straight man to Lucy's comedian, but I'll say it again, he was not as talented as Vivian Vance or William Frawly.
Yes, dark skinned people were seen as inferior and had to abide by segregation rules, but Desi was not dark skinned as in nonwhite. He was dark skinned as in Italian or Greek. He was a mediterranian decendant man which is the reason he coud marry Lucy in 1940 and his marriage license lists him as white. Seriously, I think that you need glasses if you think that Desi was darker than an Al Pacino or Sylvestor Stallone type of Italian.
William ("Fred Mertz") Frawley never won an Emmy.
I agree! When Lucy had the shows on her own they had completely lot their magic without Desi.
Favorite Desi moment was when he recited Little Red Riding Hood in Spanish. For that, he should have won an Emmy. Followed closely by his temper tantrum when Lucy got him fired from MGM while pretending to be his agent. He was an innovator and genius.
One episode that always made me cry was the one where Lucy found out she was going to have a Baby. She had tried to find Ricky all day and kept missing him. Finally he was playing at the club that nite and she went there. He comes out singing a Lullabaye SP? and stops at each table that had a couple. Each couple shook their head no. He gets to Lucy who is sitting alone and he says something like "Hey Honey I didn't know you were here." He starts to walk on and does a double take and points at her and says "YOU!?" And she nods yes and he goes crazy saying "It's ME! We're going to have a Baby!" And when he's hugging her from behind you see the real tears in her eyes since she really was pregnant. I don't know if that was the episode but he sang "We're Having A Baby My Baby and Me". That makes me lose it every time. Real life seen on tv.....They were so happy. :-)
It used to be rumoured that she used that episode to tell Desi about her real pregnancy with Desi Jnr (he already knew lol). She and Desi had actually had it written into the show to fit her pregnancy (they had to fight for it, the networks were super strict about showing pregnancy and inferring that married couples actually had sex 🤣). The night the episode of little Ricky’s birth aired, it was one of their biggest ever tv audiences and that same night Lucille Ball gave birth to Desi Jnr so it boosted their ratings massively. If I recall, they were one of the first if not THE first to ever depict pregnancy on a sitcom - something that these days is done very commonly. They kind of paved he way for a lot of future sitcoms.
@@JadeLeaf1980 They were the first to depict a pregnancy in any form of TV not just sitcoms.
@@jackvannote I wasn’t entirely sure if it was all tv or just sitcoms. Didn’t feel like looking it up as alt tabbing always resets my youtube lol
@@JadeLeaf1980 No problem I work in media since 1982 and its just common knowledge for us. Pregnancy WAS FORBIDDEN across the board in those years on TV
@@jackvannote I remember it seeming forbidden in older stuff from before the 80s. I was a kid in the 80s but I distinctly remember no pregnant women in older tv shows. Babies just seemed to arrive magically one episode with no mention of pregnancy or anything 😂. I remember the twin beds thing too and even as a kid I found it bizarre married couples were in separate beds lol.
Considering how strict the rules were about what was allowed to be shown and mentioned, I’m surprised movies like “the old maid” ever got made lol. Must have seemed scandalous at the time. 😳
My all-time favorite scene with Desi was the time he and Lucy did the Nelson Eddy/Jeanette McDonald parody to "The Waters of the Minnetonka". The expression on Desi's face is hilarious when he realizes he is actually singing to Lucy and not the band singer. Priceless. Desi had his bad points, but I'll always remember the respect and appreciation he showed to the United States. I've always understood that Desi's family's escape from Cuba in and of itself was extremely dangerous, and they would have been executed if caught. But thank God they made it to Florida. I also remember seeing Desi make an acceptance speech for an award (an Emmy I think) and said "Thank you America". He sat down next to Ed Sullivan and burst into tears. Desi also tried to enlist in the U.S. military when World War II broke out The only reason they didn't take him was because he hadn't gotten his citizenship yet. Desi got his citizenship and then enlisted successfully as a way of saying thank you to the United States. He was a patriotic American.
I was amazed and impressed when he hosted Saturday Night Live in its first season. He still had "it."
I STILL THINK I LOVE LUCY WAS THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH I LIKED WHEN DESI SANG THE ANNIVERSARY SONG TO LUCY AND THE WAY HE SANG I LOVE LUCY AN LUCY LOVES ME
I love that Desi wouldn't play the part of cheating on his taxes. He knew he was a role model and took that seriously. If only that were true of more actors, musicians, public figures. Desi was hilarious, and I enjoyed watching him as much as I enjoyed watching Lucy.
Thanks for watching!
@@FactsVerse Loved it!
I also felt Desi was equal in his talents - played a wonderful foil to Lucy's role.
My favorite Desi moment on the show -- when he told Little Ricky a bedtime story -- Little Red Riding Hood -- in Spanish and English "code switching". Lively and hilarious. I never loved LUCY but I've always loved DESI. What charm!
I really loved both of them and feel sad that will all the humor they gave they had so much in their early lives and with each other.
So much pain in their early lives... etc.
Desi was a very handsome guy with good looks ❤❤
I LOVED THE EPISODE WHERE LUCY DID A COMMERCIAL TAKING VEGIVITAMIN SYRUP & ENDED UP SO DRUNK FROM TAKING THE TONIC.
Was so funny. I liked the episode where Lucy and Ethel were working on a candy line and were forced to stick candy everywhere because line was moving too fast.😍😍
BTW Ethel could really sing. Had a great voice. Lucy insisted that Ethel always be 20 lbs overweight in an effort to make Lucy look better. Kinda creepy.
Lucy did not like Ethel personally for some reason. Loved the Ethel and Fred interaction.
I BELIEVE THAT WAS VITAMEATAVEGAMIN THAT LUCY DID THE COMMERCIAL FOR, AND IT WAS HILARIOUS.
@64tbird master I think it is true. Saw a scene once where Lucy and Ethel were in the front seat of a car, just the two of them, and Ethel put her arm around Lucy and Lucy made a very displeased face. Always remembered it. Seemed strange. Ethel probably did it just to goad Lucy.
@@margaretgarnto6272 I STAND CORRECTED. I WAS TYPING SO FAST, I THOUGHT I SPELLED IT RIGHT. SINCE YOU MENTIONED IT, I SEE THAT I MISPELLED IT. THANKS FOR THE CORRECTION.
@@sharonsanders2251 THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE TO MY COMMENT ABOUT THE I LOVE LUCY EPISODE WHERE SHE DID THE COMMERCIAL FOR VITAMEATAVEGAMIN, WHICH WAS A PARODY OF THE GERITOL COMMERCIALS THAT WERE ON TV AT THE TIME BACK IN THE 1950s. LIKE I SAID BEFORE, THAT COMMERCIAL PARODY WAS HILARIOUS. LUCY'S WIDE EYES ALWAYS MADE ME LAUGH IN MOST OF THE I LOVE LUCY EPISODES I'VE SEEN ON TV ON A DVD I HAVE OF THE SHOW. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR 6RESPONSE, AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU SAFE. YOURS TRULY, MARGARET GARNTO.
I thought the funniest episode was Season 4 Episode 14, "First Stop", where the Ricardos and the Mertzes, on a car trip to California, stopped at the rundown "One Oak Cabins and Cafe." The proprietor ran out of food except for the special of the day, stale cheese sandwiches (with the cheese made of stretch rubber). And the cabins are next to the railroad tracks with trains coming by frequently.
One of my favs too
I like how ethel wrapps fred to the bed and says she does it every night lol
That is one of my favs too
My favorite Desi moment on the show was when Ricky read a bed time story to little Ricky in Spanish with his twist on it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Desi was from a wealthy family,
And he was brilliant in playing the lucy character, a true talent who pulled off the duel role effortlessly
I LOVE LUCY was one and still is one of my all time favorite shows! My favorite shows was when they were in California, so many favorite moments it's hard to nail it down to one, but the Vitavetavegemin does stand out as a particular favorite! It's too bad Desi was such a womanizer though. But they truly loved each other till the end! God Bless them both, I know that they're in Heaven together finally at peace!! ❤️❤️💯💯
I loved Cuban Pete and Your Having a Baby.
I loved when him and little Ricky played the drums together when they went to visit Cuba.
Miss them both RIP ❤
The moment of realization when he found out that Lucy was “Enciente”! The look on his face was priceless❤️‼️
Thanks for watching!
I wish they could have stayed together. Their love for each other never stopped.
you think he loved her when he got in bed naked with other women? knowing it would destroy her?
This show is an original one like all the other's ❤️
The episode when Ethel and Lucy sang "I'm an old cow hand from the Rio grand" is definitely one of my favorites!!!
Desi wouldn't cheat on his taxes, but he sure never hesitated to cheat on Lucy!
@Mary Albanesi
That rat even tried to seduce the young 1950s budding actress Barbara Eden!
(But, she was warned about him ahead of time and handled herself well.)
P.S.: Ms. Eden will be 90-years-old, this year.
(She is forever "Jeannie", from the 1960s TV hit "I Dream of Jeannie".)
@@ahashdahnagila6884 It’s hard to believe that’s she’s 90. She outlived then all.
@@janetmccoy7945
She oulived Larry Hagman, too!
(She and Larry were both born in 1931.)
And how sad -he cheated on Lucy. She gave him so many chances to change his ways. His drinking & cheating took a terrible toll on Lucy. She tried & gave everything to the marriage. In the end, neither ever stopped loving each other. It breaks my heart for all the pain it caused to those sweet children, Lucy & in the end the pain to Desi of losing the love of his life.
Exactly.. He definitely wasn’t a saint
What is with the narrator consistently referring to Lucy as Desi's 'romantic partner'? SHE WAS HIS WIFE! At one point he says 'They were actually married for a period of time', like that's some kind of freakishly eccentric thing to do. Facts Verse, your anti-family bias is showing.
I mean they also went through an ugly divorce due to Desi’s alcoholism and infidelity sooo I feel like the phrase “romantic partner” sounds a lot better than “on again/off again wife/ex-wife”. It must be so tiring to be so offended by every little thing 😅
They divorced because Desi was a KNOWN womanizer who had several liaisons with, as he called them, "sex workers". Between his infidelity and excessive drinking, Lucy divorced him. It was NOT because he was controlling.
Desi was an addict: sex, booze and gambling. By the time he was in his mid-40's he looked like he was 60 - bloated, lined and just plain worn out. Yes, he was intelligent, creative, and earlier he was sensual and appealing. However his addictions caught up with him early and he lost everything: his marriage, his abilities to put out creative products and to continue as the Head of the Studio. (due to excessive boozing he was no longer in control and Lucy had to buy him out)
It was because of that too
You missed one important point: Desi Arnaz was a womanizer.
(Lucille had had enough of that and divorced him.)
Thanks for sharing this, Ahashdah!
And an angry drunk who would beat her, as well.
@@LoneWombat2126 he may have been a drunk but he never beat her.

Right??? They made him out to be so wonderful for not cheating on his taxes, I mean really? He wouldn't cheat on his taxes but he had no problem cheating on his wife 🤔
The way he played the conga drum.. 🔥🔥 and seeing a successful mixed couple in the 1950s.. Salute
Desi probably doesn’t get enough credit for his business smarts either. At one point Desilu Studios was producing many, many classic TV shows. I’m sure he had his flaws but who doesn’t? A super talented guy and great American
@Larry Robinson
Mixed couple?
Desi was the same race as Lucille Ball: both were Caucasian.
P.S.: There is no such thing as the "Hispanic" race!
(Even those government polls have to break it down further, by giving other categories:
"White Hispanic"
"Black Hispanic"
"Hispanic Other"
Hispanic means Spanish-speaking culture
(It's cultural, nothing else.)
Desi Arnaz' heritage goes back to Spain, as Caucasian Spaniards...
BUT, it indeed WAS his culture that formed his control-freak, macho, womanizing character.
@@ahashdahnagila6884 Exactly.
Today they wouldn't be considered a mixed couple
Mixed with what??
What is wrong with getting him a glass of water? My family and his family were friends in Cuba. My Aunt,My Dad's Sister and His Sister were best friends. She told me how she remembered him as a toddler walking around their house.

I love Lucy is my favorite black and white show
@steven milstead excuse me for not being politically correct 😂😂😂
Desi was very proud of his heritage. In an old episode of Letterman he spoke about Cuba and even sang a song written about. To come from an influential family with money and then start at the bottom cleaning canary cages is amazing. He was great in the show and his accent and mannerisms can never be replaced. Besides the fact he was so handsome. I'm sure he and Lucy loved each other until the end.
THAT IT WAS WRITTEN ABOUT.
Seriously, it took over 3 minutes to get to the point.
MY FAVORITE SHOW
I love Lucy I love the show to💖💘❤️💜💋
More immigrants and Americans should listen to this and understand about hard work and dreams.
BEST SITCOM EVER!
Desi needed to think with his big head inside of listening to his little head.
I did enjoy the shows especially when they went to Italy and Lucy was in the barrel stomping grapes.
So what. He cheating on his wife is(or was) between them.
She was mad at the end. When Ethel got her part. And they censored what Lucy said. I always was curious of what she said
When Lucy went to the club to announce the pregnancy of their baby.
That episode always makes me cry! RIP Ricky & Lucy.
When Ricky goes singing from table to table to find the lucky couple, it is funny when he sees Lucy alone and she nods to him. They couldn't use the word pregnant because it was too coarse for the audience.
3:18 FINALLY he gets to what it was that he refused to do!!!!
Good lord.. thank you..
I couldn't stand how it sounded like he was about to tell us and then goes off on a tangent.
Lucy couldn't have tried any harder. It's near impossible to survive a marriage to a serial cheater. Once you can forgive, but constant betrayal cannot survive. The love between them was there, but he couldn't battle his demons.
My all time favorite movie. I always wanted that married to work. So sad when it ended.
The look on Desi's face as Ricky in the I Love Lucy episode LA At Last when he takes Bill Holden back to the apartment to meet Lucy & she comes out with a long nose to disguise herself. His expressions here & on most episodes was hilarious. Yes, he may not have cheated on his taxes but he did on her. Gee, he died young from smoking & I am surprised Lucy didn't too as she was always smoking. Lucy didn't take nonsense either but I truly believe they continued to feel for each other years after they divorced. We must face it that Lucy was the star of I Love Lucy & her buffoonery was awesome. Desi just played off of that but he was funny too. Only just watched the grape stomping episode the other day, it was the funniest Lucy has been slipping in the vat of grapes & wrestling with the other stomper.
I had thought she died three years after him. I think cigars are worse than cigarettes but of course everyone handles it differently.
La at last was my favorite too. The cigarette burning on her nose was her idea to use
Lucy was 5 or 6 years older and died less then 3 years later. So both gone too soon. The heavy smoking they both did is why I’m sure they died younger then they should have.
Thank you for this video 👍…. Well like Lucy & Desi said one day “we will always love each other we just can’t live together “ ……..❤

My favorite Ricky Ricardo moent whas in the Superman episode when Ricky told Lucy "you shouldn't cross your bridges before they are hatched I mean you shouldn't burn your chickens behind you I mean that you shouldn't make your promises until you are sure."
Great video!! Love the way you narrate these things
Its a shame Desi cheated on Lucy so many times, he even went with hookers.. or call girls whatever they were called back then.. I never understood people saying they had a great love for one another, you do not love someone when you cheat on them all the time.. that is not Love.. I am sure Lucy Loved him though.. however I did always like them as a couple, its just too bad Desi always cheated..
I love Lucy is my all time favorite show. Desi and Lucy were great together, even off the show but they had their issues. Never heard of control issues, but the infidelity and drinking is what ended their marriage. Thank you for the effort but this video was not very accurate and a little drawn out. Desi had great talent and made the show as much as Lucy. Again great together.

Whats your favorite Lucy moment, Margarita?
Wow. I loved to show so much but knew much nothing behind the real story. I grew thinking they were "perfect" :)) ...and sort of ways they were.
Yes, I always thought his many infidelities was the reason the marriage didn’t survive.
That was the main reason. He was also an alcoholic with a nasty temper and they constantly fought. He constantly cheated on Lucy and she couldn't take it anymore. From about 1956 to the end of The Lucy Desi Comedy Hour, they were no longer talking to each other.
more to it than that -
They should of worked staying together they were so such a great team and such a lovely couple
Best show
DUDE lovin this what about the musters??
Agree. They should do something about the beautiful Yvonne De Carlo.
Too bad some congress ppl don't share the same respect that Desi Arnaz had for America and Patriotism. They could learn a few things from him!!
Desi was great. Not perfect, but great. Lucy too. Fav? The Vitameatavegiman episode.
There are so many, but I think I'll go with baking the bread.
When the show started Lucy said that only she could make fun of Ricky's accent, no one else.
No Lucy did everything she could. The great lady
Lucy and Desi had a great marriage together l think they could of worked out their differences they were the best together
I agree with Larry Robinson. The bi-culturism was certainly an eye-opener all across America. The mixed dynamics of the Lucy-Desi-Ethel-and Fred provided more than comedy.
It’s a scene where he was asked to cheat on his taxes but wouldn’t because he was proud of living the American Dream. You don’t need the other 8 minutes describing Desi’s life story. Save that for another video.
Thanks for watching!
Good for Desi for having morals about his new country. In the old days men thought a wife was their personal servant. I had to teach my husband that he wasn’t my boss. I believed a marriage is a partnership.
I can’t choose one Yes I wish they could have stayed married, I was heartbroken when they divorced!
Has anyone seen some of the episodes in color.

I never heard of the 1933 Cuban revolution. The only one I'm aware of is the 1959 one when Castro came to power.
It was called "The Sergeants' Revolt" (Spanish: Revuelta de los sargentos), also called the Cuban Revolution of 1933, was a coup d'etat that occurred in Cuba in September 1933. It began as a revolt of sergeants and enlisted men in the military, who soon allied with student activists in the Directorio Estudiantil Universitario.

I think that they tried to make their marriage work - but Desi was an addict, sex, gambling and booze. While he was incredibly charismatic (but when drunk his temper could be explosive) also he had a sex addiction, more than just having some affairs. Lucy went to a therapist in NYC and wanted Desi to join. He only went for a bit and felt that he did not need it. He only joined AA towards the end of his life, but by then it was too late as his was in bad health. Lucy obviously was getting bitter and then put a wall up to steel herself from hurt. I think they always loved each other but could no longer stay married. It is sad, but the fortunate part is that they became friendlier to one another once they divorced and stayed close to the.end of Desi's life. Also, both entered into successful 2nd marriages that lasted. However Desi's 2nd wife at one point considered getting divorced, one may assume for the same addiction reasons. Desi had two wives who loved him but the issue was his addictions which he did not try to curtain - always said he never learned moderation.
Uh, pretty sure it was Desi's drinking and fooling around that ended that marriage. He was a brilliant guy, but, like Lucy told Barbara Walters when she was 66, he could construct an empire, but then had to deconstruct whatever he'd built. He had to lose . . .
If you've ever known an addict, even a highly functioning one, you know it's an old story.
I think the main thing that made "I Love Lucy" so much funnier than Lucy's solo shows was Desi's reactions to her antics. Without him, she just wasn't near as amusing.
Participation trophy's ruined our youth....
I like that one too that was pretty funny guess who one of my favorite ones
The best comedy show ever!
One who knows Hollywood minds has to wonder if the writers were Jealous and wanted to sabotage Ricky Ricardo as well as Cuba by such an action. His wisdom to adamantly say NO I'm sure far superceded the explanation given. In Certainly glad for the first half of this giving the Positive View of Ricky Ricardo instead of the usual Negative pathological View often given by bitter women and accepted by the Feminist minds and pushed forth on societies making All men look bad. Very good on the first half. You started down the road of the Negative view on the second half and I received a phone call at the time and won't listen to any Negative.
I love the first episode " Lucy thinks Ricky want to kill her" cthu!!! Omg! I love all of them. And I live a modern life version of it lmao .. just that I know Spanish. But not when my prican argue it's Ricky alright lol so funny same mentality ... Ricky :husband did it .. Lucy : what why .. Ricky : well he was married to her wasn't he . . Lmaoooooo 💀
When you realize that an interracial couple built up the entire TV empire
There is one point that I was confused about (it also came up in the movie Being the Ricardos Desi is yelling at Lucy about communism and how they came after his family during the Revolution. It was not a communist revolution but a fascist revolution when Batista took over control and finally backed by the US. The Revolution where Fidel Castro (who was a communist) and supported by his people against Batista came much later in 1959.
So, he was so "patriotic" that he wouldn't dream of cheating on his taxes but he didn't give a shit about importing contraband Cuban cigarrs against the American embargo. What an F-ing hypocrite!
Wow this video was interesting my favorite fact is desi asked his soon to be wife for a glass of water lol 🤣 that's like me asking my soon to be man honey make me a pot of coffee he would be thinking is she for real she better be joking
You can't respond with alcoholic men, speacially if they hit you. He didn't hit her, but the fact that he had rage. Oh! No, no, no. She wanted peace and I don't blame her. I lived with a man that was an alcoholic for 33 yrs. In the begging he was just having a few beers (6) but it graduated to 48 a night. Idk, how he managed.🤔
So Desi feigned shock about cheating on his taxes but didn’t hesitate to regularly cheat on Lucy, his wife. Ironic. It cost him his marriage. Lucy in an interview called Desi a “loser” - he lost everything valuable in his life.
This is the America that is dying before our eyes.....and everyone knows why.
Lucy did not need to try harder to make her marriage with Desi work. She did most of the trying !!!
Maybe Lucille would have tried harder if Desi stopped being controlling, philandering and being a bad husband…just a thought.
One thing I found in 47 years of marriage is not being unfaithful. Maybe if Desi did the same it might have turned out better
It is a big possibility. Do you believe that Luci was the one that Desi loved the most?
Too long to get to the point. I was thinking, Why doesn't he cut to the chase instead of being so redundant?
Sometimes married doesn’t work I am coming out of a bad marriage now
