After Bishop Ford died in May of 1995,the new Presiding Bishop,Bishop CD Owens decided to keep Dr.Whitley in her position. If you ask me LaVonia was more suited for COGIC administration work instead of being the new head of the music department. Mother Whitley actually was very much involved heavily in organizing the annual COGIC Leadership Conference before she bacame the president of the music department. Not long after this convention, the newly elected Presiding Bishop,Bishop GE Patterson appointed Dr.Iris Stevenson (who has an extensive background in music in COGIC and outside of COGIC) to be the head of the music department,where she served until 2008. Dr.Whitley went back to resume administration work for COGIC.

I agree the song was JACK'D up on some parts, but growing up COGIC and attending State and National Convocations you learn the songs the night before or the day of and I'm quite sure that was the case on this one. But my girl still is RAW

Okay this aint the easiest song to Improv and impromptu BUT if the director had known it better and been on it more, she couldve cued the choir earlier and worked more with Dorinda. Dorinda is on point tho, I wish she had directed the choir and sang. It probably wouldve been better...
