Are you curious about school life in Tibet?
Today, I will show you how teacher Mr. Kandhen and his students spend a day in Dechen Village School near Lhasa city.
It was a long day starting from 6:30 to 21:30. But it was his routine: preparing for the classes, correcting student’s homework, having classes, having meals with other teachers, looking after students living in school, and missing his girlfriend : )
I took the Tibetan lesson and Chinese lesson with his student. These kids were really happy in Mr. Kandhen’s class.
I’m surprised that the teaching facilities in the classroom are much better than when I was a child.
Really wonderful to study in such a good environment!
Of cause, the life at school was not only about classroom learning, but also a rich and colorful life with various sports activities.
In the afternoon, there were also classes of traditional Tibetan culture, like the Tibetan chess (called Chandraki in Tibetan) class and the Tibetan handwriting class.
The Tibetan language has not been forgotten. Not only do the children at the school learn to read and write Tibetan, but also the teacher practice writing Tibetan every night after work.
