"I got a fever and the only thing that will cure it is more cowbell". Epic song, thanks guys.
I actually have a refrigerator magnet that says "more cowbell"! 😂
E-fukken-pic :)
SNL 😂
I LOVE IT 😂

That is the second thought for me. The first is "The Stand". It was the first time I heard the song and it was with all the dead people. Definitely stuck with me.
Absolutely iconic legendary riff that drives the entire song. Timeless!
1976. I was 14, on a school bus trip, staring at the boy I had a huge crush on. And this song played. Still feels the same when I hear it. ♥️
I can't imagine the nostalgia you're feeling. That's sweet :)
This band is amazing
Many more great songs
Rock on
Buck Dharma
Took my brother to his first concert he just turned 14, Moody Blues and Blue Oyster Cult,1976,L.A.
That must of been epic dang why was I born in the 90s i missed the greatest decade of music
Scratching my head at this one:
(a) There is currently no known gig where BOC and Moody Blues have played on the same bill together
(b) Whoever you DID see in 1976, it wasn't the Moody Blues - they were on a hiatus between 1974-1977...
Moody Blue Oysters
The lyrics are excellent, too. That’s the great Buck Dharma on lead guitar!
Gene really "explored the space" with his virtuoso cowbelling!
Gene almost messed it up for them. THE Bruce Dickinson saved it for them though.
Now they're all wearing gold-plated diapers.
😂
"Godzilla" would be the next song to react to from Blue Oyster Cult. It is Fire!!!!
Mysterious, gorgeous, hypnotic song.
What a joy to be alive when radio came out with these miracles....

Grab a big blunt and drift into the sky with Romeo🕴and Juliette 💃
This song is almost surreal; dreamy and spooky. It takes you on a trip, for sure! ☺️
You knew the perfect words to apply to this song. Takes me back to a time I felt like a dare devil.
One of the all time great classics.
Everything in this song is perfect.
"Burning For You" from the Fire of Unknown Origin album is another great BOC song. That whole album is great.
Some tasty guitar licks in that one. 👍
@@MikeySea676 For sure. Every time I hear that solo, I rewind it 2 or 3 (or 100) times to hear it again & again....and those fills at the end are just as bad-ass
Local Long Island boys who made good. I really enjoyed watching you discover all the gems in this song!
Blue Oyster Cult "Godzilla",, "Burnin' For You",,
"I Love The Night" & "This Ain't The Summer Of Love"
I love Blue Oyster Cult. One of my favorite bands from back in the early 70's. They put on a powerful concert and they seemed to be at every big outdoors show. Bucks Dharma's guitar soars live. Great reaction guys!
Blue Oyster Cult has always had some fantastic song arrangements. Wether it’s a flow between two different parts that takes you on a journey or , as in the solo, they can take you from 0 to 100 in one step.
You get BOC
Awesome 🤠
Hey thanks, you guys, for reacting to this most awesome, and among the most classic of tunes. Its sound has been resonating since 1976. And it will never stop. For this is Blue Oyster Cult.
Cheers!
What's not to love about this song, I need more cowbell.
Now you must watch the Saturday Night Skit, “more cowbell “
I've got a fever and it's raging and I wanna hear more cowbell
I went to one of their concerts in the 70s. The building was designed as an orchestra hall so the acoustics were phenomenal. They actually played for three hours. One of the best concerts I've ever been to and I went to a lot of them in the 70s & 80s. Thank you for reacting to this great song/band.
According to Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, the lead singer, one of the two guitarists on the song and the writer of the song, the song is NOT about suicide. In interviews, he has repeatedly said that the song was written after he received a bad diagnosis from his doctor - a heart condition. He feared that he would die at a young age. This song was his coping with the diagnosis. He wrote about the inevitability of death, and that we should not fear it. It was also the expression of his hope that he would be reunited with loved ones in the afterlife.
Many people just take the Romeo and Juliet line out of context with the rest of the song and think that this song is about suicide, or worse, that it encourages suicide. Neither of those are true.
I've been listening to and loving this song forever, but never knew the story behind it. Thank you for taking the time to tell it. The song is even better now when I listen to it.
@@bebic7903 You're very welcome. I just knew that someone would say that it is about suicide and wanted to nip that false interpretation in the bud. Glad it helps you appreciate it more.
I've heard all the denials about suicide, but I don't buy it.
@@davitofarito You are entitled to your opinion, but Buck Dharma's illness is on record, as is his stance on the song. www.songfacts.com/facts/blue-oyster-cult/dont-fear-the-reaper
@@bebic7903 SAME HERE, BIG UPS CRAIG.
I saw these guys twice. Once in a stadium the second time in a more intimate setting, about 80 people, 7 metres away 🤯
"More Cowbell"😆 There is a Saturday Night Live skit of this song with Will Ferrel & Christopher Walken that is hilarious!!😆 Y'all should check it out if you get a chance!🤣
😂😂 That’s EXACTLY what I thought of when I saw this
@@78twood 🤣🤣
I was scrolling through the comments to see if someone mentioned Saturday night live ❤️ You guys should definitely check it out. More Cowbell😋
@@kimzwolinski9919hilarious no matter hpw many times Ive seen it!!😆😆
Really explore the space!
B.O.C. has such a huge and melodic catalog of music. They are from Long Island, and so many of their songs are so different, it shows the maturity of their musicianship. Check out "Godzilla", or "Shooting Shark", or "Burnin' For You". Another great reaction, fellas, I appreciate you, peace.
Shooting Shark is so hauntingly beautiful... I love that whole album, in fact as a whole album it is BÖC's best album from front to back. There are better songs across their other albums, but as a whole Revolution by Night takes the cake.
@@Wolverines77 Errr, really? There are a couple of great songs on Rev By Night (Take Me Away, Shadow of California, Veins) But most BOC fans are in agreement that its one of their overall weaker albums. THere are a couple of BOCs worst songs on that album (like Let's Go).
I'd love to know if anybody else's copy of Club Ninja is as badly pressed as mine?
I’ve seen them twice since January 2020 and let me tell you, this is the most fun song
One of my favorite songs!!!
How fresh to see someone who has never heard this song react to it! Made me smile.
You guys have one of the most enjoyable channels on RUclips.
You also know your music, and have great taste! Keep up the good work.
I hadn't thought about it through all these years of listening, but the vocals are an example of "call and response."
Isn’t it amazing that even when hearing a song for the first time that usually in the 1st 15-30 seconds , you can tell what’s a banger or not ! BOC has many ✌🏼❤️
Saw them live at Commack Arena on Long Island back in the 70's they were awesome.✌🌻🌻
@3:02, love the reaction. Don't fear the reaper is one of the greatest things ever set to music and words.
🎸💯 Badass Blue Oyster Cult rocked HARD‼🔥🤯
Musical perfection! The riff is epic.
Oh yea Bros!
One, if not the BEST songs EVER ‼‼‼‼‼‼
We need more cowbell. There, I said it first
Lol yes you did;)
Great reaction, as ever bros. Imagine what it was like in the 60s and 70s, you turned the radio on and you never knew what magic would come out of that box. It felt like every day was an adventure in sound.
This song is legendary 🔥🎼🎤🎸♥️ Great to see you guys! Been missing you ♥️
In the cover art for this, in the Magicians hand, he is holding Tarot cards. The order is as follows:
Death: Signifying an End of things, and new beginnings after.
The Empress: Signifying creation of life, romance, art, or new business.
The Emperor: Suggestive of stability and security in life and that you are in charge of your life now setting up your own rules and boundaries.
The Sun: Portends good fortune, happiness, joy and harmony. It represents the universe coming together and agreeing with your path and aiding forward movement into something greater/Ascension.
I’ve heard this song at random times throughout my life and always loved it, but I never knew this was the band or the name of it. So in a way it was a first hearing for me too…crazy haha It has this strange kinda biker feel to it. Thanks guys! 😃
U guys are good , " This is a Serious song"
You found them! BOC was one of my favs in 70’s. Still is. Guitarist is Buck Dharma. (Try Dominance & Submission, Agents of Fortune, The Revenge of Vera Gemini; a few more favs.)
🌹🌹Great Reaction! BTW, Buck Dharma said this song is not about glorifying suicide, it’s about the transcendence of love.
yer,, it is defo worthy of praise that song.. you guys get it well
Alas...they do not know...
They do not know just how much more cow bell is required in this song.
SuperTramp- "Give A Little Bit"...they are Pure Talent
Thanks Bros!! One of my favourites!!!
One of my favourite bands
One of the all time greats
BLUE OYSTER CULT, "DON'T FEAR THE REAPER". 1976 CLASSIC. THIS WAS MY FIRST CONCERT IN 1973. TIME IS NOW ONE OF THEIR RELEVANT TUNES. "Then Came the last Days of May". More... "DOMINANCE AND SUBMISSION ", "CITIES ON FLAME WITH ROCK AND ROLL", "SEVEN SCREAMING DIZBUSTERS", "M.E. 262"
…Last Days of May is Epic! Check out their tribute DVD, they perform the entirety of Agents of Fortune.
@Joni B - Tribute DVD?
@@crusheverything4449 I should have said Anniversary DVD for Agents of Fortune, my bad!
@@jonib5881 - Oh, okay. Thanks for clarifying.
This song is also in the movie Halloween 1978....how appropriate. Lol. Love BOC!!
I believe 3 Leads were used in this iconic recording.
One of a LOT of great B.O.C songs. Everything sung and played perfect here - including the Cowbell.
Its good to see it appreciated.
You guys should listen to the band Nightwish.
I still get goosebumps every time I hear this song! Love you guys reaction so pure keep it up love the channel 💚
Totally agree the SNL parody is the funniest thing I ever saw. Will Farrell gold. Especially with this classic rock version of Romeo and Juliet.
All I hear is Christopher Walken tellin Will Ferral “MORE COWBELLS”!!!
Cmon baby, don't fear the reaper! Hahahahaha... Wicked stuff.
I love Blue Oyster Cult best song
Wow, this song brings back a lot of memories, I used to hear it everywhere. It has such a distinctive riff, you know the song as soon as it starts! I love the melody, it's just so beautiful. Thanks for reacting to it, guys, take care, hope you're both okay.
Now this is so much the essence of my youth😘😘😁❤️💙💛
Don’t fear death...it comes to us all!
Nice reaction to a great song, Georgia brothers.
First time? OMG.
Great reaction. BOC are awesome! Check out "Dominance and Submission", "Cities On Flame", "Flaming Telepaths", Transmaniacon MC" and "Harvester of Eyes".
WOW is CORRECT!!!! One of the best rock 🎸 songs of all time!!!!
beautiful song, and incredible production.
That intro! You know the song after hearing only the first couple of seconds.
Oh my gosh! I have been so crazy busy I missed this. THIS! MY FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIME. Written by Buck Dharma. THE GREATEST GUITARIST EVER!!! Thank you so much for reacting to it!
This tune was featured in the Stephen King movie, The Stand.
I've enjoyed listening to this with you guys.
The first time I heard this song was when I watched The Stand - The TV series based on Stephen King's book. It was perfect for the beginning of that story.
I love watching your reactions. You guys are great!
So glad you finally did this one.
During the solo "break"... ( I am paraphrasing, here.....)
George - "...Oooh, where the hell are we going"?
Patrick - "We're going somewhere else...."!!
60 y.o BOC fans -
"🤘😎 Exactly!"
I just love it when you say my name! Lol
haven't stopped by your channel for a while and i return to THIS! excellent! 😂
Very popular the year I graduated from High School in 1977. They were huge at the time like every other great group. Need more cowbell!
Yea for the class of "77" ! West Forsyth NC
@@guitarman0311 1977 was the best, Clayton, IN
GREAT song
This song is EPIC 🤘💀
An epic rock song
I think you would really enjoy Astronomy by this band
Thank you.....
My favourite band The Jam opened for Blue Oyster Cult in the US in 1977, it was a disaster! Two totally different bands? I like BOC but still absolutely love The Jam.
Killer lead break, love it! Hope you guys are doing well.
Great reaction guys !
I have Joe Bouchard's autograph, he signed my vinyl sleeve of of Spectres!
needs more cowbell!!! LOL I love this song!! ty for a great reaction!!
!!!!!!!!!!!Los 70s....Guauuuu...:)...!!!!!!
Good news guys! They're touring this year, with, guess who? Only Deep Purple!
You two looked just like the crowd in the Odeon in Edinburgh in 1977, when I saw them play that live. And the live version is exactly as you said, solo after solo. Depending of course which live version you're listening to!
Enjoy them guys, they're a very underrated band.
Back in the 70’s when this son came out. Radio Stations were not allowed to play it after 10pm.
Halloween brought me here!
Cities On Flame With Rock and Roll should be next.
Still have this album in vinyl
The middle part is the reaper coming...my favourite song ever. Thanks guys!!
These guys are still playing as they played close to our military base here (101st Airborne Division) last month. Btw, just found out you guys are from Georgia. Such a beautiful land.
Very nice reaction to an amazing song! Thank you! Missed you guys! 🎶
Legendary band & song….As teenagers we partied all night to this and then some.
Check out their song "Seven Screaming Dizbusters". Similarly catchy.
There is also a great SNL skit about the fact that the song's only weakness is that it needs even more cowbell somehow.
Yes SNL with the Cow Bell HYSTERICAL 😂🤣😂🤣😍😍
