I can't stop watching this video I was seriously debating getting rid of my rebel and now I see what this bike is hiding!! I'm shipping my ecu as soon as I can!!!
Dang Chris! You came through! 😉. I know you read comments! Great job! 👏. And these new comments reflect the excitement. Channel jumped like 12k+ subs overnight!
Thank you for tuning such a different bike. This video really helped me understand more about a flash than ever before. Now I know what to ask for when I send my ECU out (To you guys, of course) and what to expect when I get my ECU back.
Great vid Chris! You guys did a stellar flash for my ZX14 a few years back man. Now I have a KTM Duke 890R that i am in need of a flash for, so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for that video....unless you have done one behind the scenes? Let me know brother! 👊😎🤙
Now please crack the code on the 2014-2015 Honda Valkyrie and the 2013-2016 Honda F6B! There is a quite a bit of market for people wanting to hot rod the GL1832 motors. Stock they come with over 100hp and 130 torque, but restricted😢 let’s go Chris!!
the speed limiter does keep you from dealing with the high speed issues with the stock tires, be sure to swap those out before you try goin over 100. You get nasty speed wobbles if you dont.
you should measure AFR for each cylinder seperate. (often there is a plug in each header). keep the dynojet on a steady rpm and open up the gas handle step by step and hold when it is within the next cell in the table. This way you don't have delay errors in your measurement and the excelleration enrichment doesn't fuck up you measurement. My multistrada ran to rich on one cylinder and lean on the other, together it was ok. In the way discribed above the bike gained 7HP / 5NM almost everywhere compared with the tuning method in this video.
Another thing, will the engine still be able to compensate for altitude without the o2 sensors plugged in? It would suck to be running 30% richer than an already rich (comparatively to stoich) sport tune if someone ever took their bike up the Rockies...
I was wondering that kind of stuff as well. Doesn't sit well with me to just yank the wires on these sensors and just let em swing....sounds like redneck engineering.
@@justincbryant I was asking whether it would do that or not but got no answer, so IDK. The worst thing that's likely to happen is it stalls because it's too rich, then you just turn it around and coast back down the mountain again till it fires.
I want to get this tune, but was wondering if it will get rid of the driving mores (Rain, user, etc…)? I want to improve the bike, but keep the driving modes
Late response and unsure if you got an answer to your question elsewhere, I did have an email exchange with Chris almost two months ago. The fueling is adjusted across all modes, but the power increase is specific to the sport mode.
@@elric1169 That is false. I own a 1100DCT and it is capped at somewhere between 160 and 170 kmh (which is 100-105mph). I have not been able to go anywhere close to 140mph, on a straightway, with my throttle to the max, in sport mode. This might be a separate limiter built into the DCT model to protect the gearbox. I have not ridden the non-DCT model to confirm if a limiter is/isn't present on it in the EU model. My question regarding the differences was, if I were to take my European DCT ECU and send it over, would they be able to flash it, or would it require extra work that would not be necessary with the US model ECU.
@@tailez606 I read somewhere the stock tires are rated up to 100 mph. I'm guessing Honda limits the Rebel speed so they won't get sued from a tire failure accident. They can sell the bikes with cheaper tires mounted.
What is the benefit of going closed loop and removing the o2 sensor? Are there not scalar tables you can edit to prevent over correction of your new tuned fueling tables?
its standard to remove 02 sensors. I have not seen many tunes that actually use those. all tunes i got and looked at all involve disconnecting the sensors.
@@reetsaw06 You shouldnt need to run closed loop, it takes out any of the automatic fine-tuning that allows for variances in air temperature/density I dont think its a good idea to do, the ECU is kind of "dummed down" by doing it. Its faster to tune that way, but I Im wondering if thats the only real value here. I tune cars, I avoid going closed loop over open loop. I am wondering what the benefit is in this situation to do that, really just asking questions to gain more understanding of something.
@@d4nr055 well a Dyno tune on a vehicle is very different from a drop in ECU flash. This is set up to run on any bike of the same model. When you tune for a single vehicle you can keep it open.
@@d4nr055 i guess i should mention. bikes dont need to pass emissions once purchased (varys by state but mainly a cali problem) and 02 is just for emmisions and mpg. you dont flash a bike to stay within emmisions. you do it to get rid of it as it kills bikes.

Can you flash ECUs from Europe? I'm Rebel 1100 owner and the speed limiter is super annoying on the highway (autobahn...) when you trying to overtake someone, lots of car drivers here speeds up unfortunately when they see motorcycle and you can't finish the overtake. 😳😭 (always the same scenario, going on the highway on cruise control, reach behind someone's car back, try to pass, but suddenly you are on the bike speed limiter and you can't pass 🤯)

Hey there. Would this tune offer (noticeable) improvement to mid range torque as well or mostly just top end speed? Im new to all this, thanks for any help. trying to understand. from what im seeing, only about 3 lb of a torque increase at peak?
I used to have this bike, if you felt how unstable the front end is around 90mph you'd understand why the speed is limited to 100mph, not sure if it's the stock tires or what. Pretty cool to see the tune though. I traded my rebel 1100 in for a 2024 zx6r
Considering the tune required both 02 sensors disconnected, is there a way to trick the ECU into thinking that they're still connected to retain cruise control? 2024 1100T here, just installed headers and a slip on, noticed my cruise control only works if I have both 02 sensors connected
I'm pretty sure they put in the 100mph limiter because of the Death Wobble these experience at around 93mph+ !!! Disable that 100mph, and your first ride would most likely be your last, because if you get past 100 to say 120 and the death wobble sets in 25mph above the critical point you may not live to tell about it! P.S. also - removing the O2 sensors is really a lazy ass way to do a supposed "improved tune", as a racing automotive tuner, we go to great lengths to add O2 sensors wherever we can, I can't wrap my head around why anyone would think your method is a good one.

That rebel 1100 only weighs 487 pounds wet. It would be interesting to see it go against the 117 HD motor
at 487 lbs and revving to 8 grand for the rebel, the Harley can't keep up
Love HDs...but that reb will gap that HD from 40 roll with a flash....especially if he goes 4 teeth up.on rear
