Why am I smiling through this entire clip? Maybe because of the iconic music by The Supremes and the beautiful young people, black and white, dancing and smiling. I hope we can get back to that idealism!
The music of that time is unmatched in history and the young people were influential to the world. My sisters were teenagers during that time and I was 10 years younger than them but still was exposed somewhat to what was going on.
I graduated in 1967.....seeing the clothes and shoes takes me back. My best friend and I were at all the dances. Everyone looks so clean and healthy. Beautiful hair back then also. Le sigh. Where did I leave the wayback machine?
The song "The Happening" was the song for the same titled move "The Happening" with Anthony Quinn, Faye Dunaway, Robert Walker and others. That was 1967.
When I was young I'd listen to the radio Waitin' for my favorite songs. When they played I'd sing along. It made me smile. Those were such happy times And not so long ago How I wondered where they'd gone. But they're back again Just like a long lost friend All the songs I loved so well.

@@martinandrews7387 Yes. Totally wrong. Graduated in 1968 and well into technology. Love watching these clips. Miss those days. The clothes and hairstyles were simple, cute and real. To this day, most of us can hear just the first two notes of a song and can say the name of the song and the group/artist in a split second. Beautiful times that I feel so blessed to have lived.

I would like to know if anyone who is watching this has come on here and seen yourself after all these years? please make a statement and state your name and at what point are you seen in the video. would love to hear from you...so cool! :)
Gee, if it's a year later does it count?
Agreed. It would be nice to hear from them.Unfortunstely,I think they are the generation that are not too much into new technology,so probably won't know that they are on You Tube.I could though be totally wrong.
@@martinandrews7387 Yes. Totally wrong. Graduated in 1968 and well into technology. Love watching these clips. Miss those days. The clothes and hairstyles were simple, cute and real. We danced to have fun, not to show off. The music was and is still the greatest. To this day, most of us can hear just the first two notes of a song and can say the name of the song and the group/artist in a split second. Beautiful times that I feel so blessed to have lived.
@@umpieyou Thanks for the reply. When I think about it,I am sure that generation will be into new technology.Yes,I agree with you,I got that wrong.
@@umpieyou I agree with the rest of your write up as well.Incidentally,I am British, writing this from West Yorkshire, England.I enjoy AB on You Tube.
hard to dance to but they seem to enjoy it ..some of the shows have the dancers barely moving.
Did you ever see the Scene on Mad Men where Don Draper is on his way to see Megan who was in California Acting and he got ready to see her by shaving and getting himself together. Then going on the Escalator a la Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate. A True Metrosexual.
I van understand the lyrics! Lucky dancers
Love the AB videos! Nice to see them all dancing to the hits. Any chance you have videos of Ronnie Dove on Bandstand?
Fun Fact: His song "My Babe" was played during the episode before this one.
Diana Bower on the riser.
I am on board any price any time
COOL!☺✌
Does anyone know who the male dancer in the glasses and sport coat was? He was fantastic :)
I do.
@@DrJohnPollard, COOL!☺✌
The Bandstand logo looks suspiciously like the ABC circle thing
I love it. Best Bandstand logo ever.
It's because Bandstand is synanamous with ABC-TV history,
Did the supremes ever perform on here besides the 70s one
I read somewhere that Diana, Mary and Cindy performed "Reflections" on AB, but I've never seen any evidence of it. You would think that the Supremes would have been on the show at least once in the mid-60s!
