I’ve played Mizunos the last 20 years. They are definitely my favorite brand of irons. I’m currently playing the JPX 921 Forged. Great feel, forgiveness and distance.
I have the 225's 4-pw, they are very consistant if you're a decent ball striker. They offer good forgiveness - especially on thin strikes, no real loss of distance which you will find with the 221's. The longer irons are excellent but I'm a high ball hitter. I have seen a lot of combo sets on course with good players. I tested mine against the TaylorMade's and titleist t200. The 225's just felt softer and were much more consistent regarding distance, spin, flight etc....
Some of the most honest relatable reviews on RUclips! You're being way too modest though Sophie. To get to the level you did you have to be in the top .01% of golfers on the planet. That said the 4 iron is just a swing speed issue and you'd never carry one anyway. Keep up the great work, we appreciate it.
Sophie this series was just brilliant! I purchased combo 225 and 223 and I have to say the 223's were amazing! Very satisfyingly if you are a decent striker. You don't need to be scratch to really enjoy these. Mizuno once again hits it out of the park! I added T22 45 wedge bent 2d strong as a replacement for a PW. Love em !
I used to play Mizuno MP-60. Then my favourite ball striker recommended the Callaway Mavrik Pro irons and i couldn’t be more pleased. (I still have a soft spot for Mizuno irons). 🇸🇪
Thank you very much for your review. I have just ordered 225 irons. I'm using MP-4 irons for years, but as I get older I felt I need more forgiving and strong loft irons. New irons will come up in March. I can't wait.
hi Sophie I'm pretty new to the game but was given some tzoids from a friend. because I haven't played with cavity backs these irons are class and a thin 4 iron doesn't look scary to me. im currently off 16 in my second year playing and really find it hard to come away from these irons despite all my friends saying get cavities. love the review and good to hear mizuno crushing it.
Excellent honest review Sophie. It’s just a great shame that Mizuno irons have gone from £750 a set to £1400 in 3 years, which is completely ridiculous. I would be looking to upgrade my MP 60s but the price is just a mickey take
Sophie your approach to these irons was very good...Been looking for a new set of irons with some help...The 225 look like the model that would fit into my game, and give me a bit more forgiveness then the player irons I have now with out a let down...Thanks....
You are so good at this, Sophie. Thanks. Looking forward for more videos from you, and thanks for the great popup in Finchys video the other day...Soooo funny. Youre the good one.
Great review Sophie. I've recently ordered 225's 4-GW in Steelfibers. Hoping to receive them late Feb/early March. Tested them against the T200's and the Mizuno won hands down on feel and looks, with similar distance/spin/descent angles.
@@gavincunningham4598 I ordered the Steelfibers soft stepped as they felt pretty robust to me for a stiff flex, tremendously stable though. Can't wait!
As always, great reviews from Sophie! Riddle me this Sophie. Why do you think they make the 223 (and MMC prior) look so different from the 221 and 225? They’ve done it for a while (I had MP69s combo’d with the MP59s)…but seems to me they should make the MC line look more similar like they do with the JPX line…I’d love to blend the 221 with the 223, but not a fan of the looks of the 223…LOVE the looks of the 225, but the lofts are so different, that bending those would probably affect the playability of them, no? I’m glad they reduced the size of the 225 from the HMB…they look great. The HMB felt like a clown club in my hands…
Good review, as always, Sophie...currently got original HMB's in the bag and not looking to change. Prices are getting high but if you keep them for 5 or 6 years the cost levels out to a couple of hundred a year....I might look at the 265s in a few years😁
Have been a Mizuno player now for a good few years now still using the MP5 irons. I am looking at changing this year but after your review I will probably go back to Wilson as they don’t take the proverbial when pricing new clubs. A lot of the top so called manufacturers have put the price of their clubs up that much it is only going to do one thing in my opinion and that is drive people away from this wonderful game, I am sure it will discourage the amount of people that would like to take up the game, new blood is what this game needs to keep our clubs going. I am sure things have not doubled in price over the last 5 years in the manufacturing of golf clubs.
Great Review. Game the MP20-MB only 6-PW but thinking the 225 might be a friendlier option to grab a few yards and they seem to have felt with the head size and offset which the HMB had.
Lovely clubs, Mizuno. However, as golfer with 80 mph driver swing speed, half of my set needs to be hybrids and not the longer irons. So together with specialist wedges (GW, SW, LW), I have only 8 and 9 iron and PW in my bag.
Pretty sure 223 are 2* stronger than 221 not the same loft. Was excited about 223 as I played MP58, 59, 15, and MP18MMC but the sole is humongous looking to me. Love the look of the 221 but will stick with my T100/T100s combo for now.
Recently became a fan of the ladies European Tour. Ladies are lovely and skilled. The German lady that won yesterday in Kenya with her boyfriend on the bag made a gutsy up and down on the 72nd hole to make it even more fun to watch. Your commentary has aided in my becoming a recent fan. Commentators can make or break a fan’s interest. Sorry to say the LPGA is a waste of time with chatty Kathy (Morgan Pressel) talking whilst players are hitting. Judy Rankin like you knows what time it is when in the booth.
Sadly limited choices and options for lefties. That being said after testing many brands and models including the usual suspects and the mizuno jpx tour which made it to my shortlist I ended up with the pxg irons and have not looked back - outstanding performance and feel - even better than mizuno.
We need more reviews like this with your swing speed that is relative too the average golfers and you did a amazing job ! I appreciate you

I am not a single digit yet, but love to try the 225. Thanks for the great review.

Nice review. I picked up a set of 225s… I foresee these being in the bag for a long time. Excellent iteration of the next hmb.
Great review Sophie 👍
Great review Sophie. I always love to watch your videos as I can relate best to them. Thank you.

Good review - thank you. Perhaps most helpful of all the 2022 MP range reviews for me

I ordered the same 1 degree weaker can't wait

@@tonybytheway7543 I tried these and p790... feel a lot beeter on the p225

I like the stronger lofts. I'm so used to it. Besides the MP 225 looks better.

I’d like you to compare the Mizuno 225 with the tailor-made P7 90
they all look beautiful Sophie but we'll out off my price range excellent review
I had 5 sets of mizunos- they never disappoint. Feel like I have wrong shafts in mp20 mmc/hmb combo set. Maybe give these new ones a go

Hi Sophie great review could you do some videos on finding more swing speed I am like you could do with a bit more thanks
Hi Sophie! Great review! How would you compare the 225 to the P790 ? 225 to the P770 ?
Thank you, Joe
How is the 225 vs P790? Do you think 225 is better? Thank you.
Loving your reviews Sophie, can you do a comparison with the 225 v apex pro
Thanks
how do these hold up to the older models like MP4?
Pretty sure 223 are 2* stronger than 221 not the same loft. Was excited about 223 as I played MP58, 59, 15, and MP18MMC but the sole is humongous looking to me. Love the look of the 221 but will stick with my T100/T100s combo for now.
MP 5 s to be changed to MIzuno Pro 221 s with T22 wedges as well !!!👍👍👍 Nothingfeelslikeamizuno 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
@Sophie - where were the winners of the 12 days of Xmas draws posted/announced.

Soph, have you ever tested Bridgestone BX/BXS?
I like Wilson irons a lot
This good looking irons , long distance and forgiveness ! But sound not good as full forged irons .
-preordered quickly
223 are 2 degree stronger than 221. 5 iron on 221 is 27 degree where 223 is 25!

223s are 2 degree stronger lofts and 225s are 4 degrees stronger….not just slightly stronger 🤦🏻♂️ that’s a full club
223 is not the same loft as the 221
Finchy owes you are very nice dinner.
Is she a pro? Doesn't seem a lot more consistentl than i am. LOL
