Matteo Jorgenson is a rider who has shown great promise. Going to Jumbo VIsma will give him a wonderful opportunity to reach his full potential. I am very happy for Matteo.
Jorgensen has the most potential on this list, although he and Kuss may be competing for leadership at the smaller tours.
@@DavidSaundersPostsI am not sure, I don't think TJV considers him to be a GC man, they have Ben Tullet and Staune Mittet for that in the future, I think they contracted him for the Wallone classics and as a roque rider in the tours.
Personally, I am curious to see how Per Strand Hagenes will perform in 2024, he transfered from the TJV development team to the main force.
Happy to see Sivakov moving on. There've been so many moments when he felt like Ineos' strongest card to play but was never given that role. Hope that Team UAE gives him more freedom if he wants it. Also feels like we are witnessing a significant shift in super-team tactics. From the old single-leader strategy for stage races to a two or even three-leader strategy. I like seeing these teams being more creative and less predictable with their tactics. Though much more challenging to balance riders' personal ambitions with that of the team.
What are you thinking? Who is Sivacov going to get the nod over? POGS? YATES? ALMEIDA?
congratulations Mateo. Great team to be in it.
Hi, this nothing to do about transfers, but about something Patrick was talking about on the Echelon.
My suggestion regarding better Grand Tour events and a possible leveling of teams competitiveness.
Watching the Skoda Luxembourg race, with 6 riders per team, it seems like going from 8 to 7 rider teams, achieves 2 things, reduces the strength of the top teams like TJV just making every stage a very hard pace, and allowing teams with smaller budgets to bring better riders to be able to compete.
The second change, is that each team is allowed to designate 2 riders (alternates) that can be selected to add to their squads on rest days only to fill in for riders who DNF from injury prior to rest days. Only 1 rider can be added per rest day (not before), and they must be one of the 2 predesignated alternates. So in 2023, Ineos lost several riders, and Jayco lost over half their team. One caveat, alternate riders can take points (KOM, or Sprints), but can not take any awards.
My 2 cents, cheers!
Good point on the Sivakov trade to UAE, vis-a-vis last year's foolish letting go of Yates. Sivakov is tough and a valuable team member.
Staune-Mittet stepping up from dev team to World Tour is the transfer I'm most excited about, maybe not for 2024 but a few years on we know if he's the real deal or not
Same here, and likewise for Per Strand Hagenes
@@gerlachsieders4578 absolutely!
JVs move for Jurgensonbis brilliant site he is clearly future GC potential and a good addition for the classics . The team now has 3 tour GC riders but Roglic has a only a couple of years left at that level but enough to allow Matteo to transition in . JV just played to ensure future dominance. Great for Matteo joining the best team in the world
Id agree mostly with the list rankings... nice vid
I had forgotten Magnus Cort existed this year and you put him at no.3 most important transfers made me chuckle.
Mauro Schmid could do well at Jayco. Hw will be a leader and will be placed in suitable riders which was not the case at QS.
How about Roglic? Is he content to be the lead out man?
TJV still has Affini and Van Baarle, but I am curious to see if TJV will contract a new pacer / powerhouse now that Van Emden, Dennis, Roosen and Van Hooijdonk are leaving....dutchman Sjoerd Bax might be a welcome addition, but not likely to leave UAE.
I've been wondering the same, also with Hessmann suspended by the team. But considering the programs of these riders this year (some of them being substitutes only and doing big races because the first choice was either ill or injured I'm not so sure. A lot of good riders already signed up so promoting another young rider one year earlier than planned would make sense and next year get a good domestique extra once 2025 deals are negotiated. Also I think Jorgenson would be suited to Van Hooydonks programme in the classics and Tour.
True, and maybe they can persuade Tobias Foss to stay and adapt him for this role, as a former WC TT he is certainly qualified
Honorable mention should go to Nathan Van Hooydonck who is forced into early retirement due to a medical condition.
Transfer to early retirement? Tacky, bro.
Yeah, team JV lost some true power houses with Van Emden, Dennis and now Van Hooijdonk, I wonder how TJV are going to replace them, thank goodness they got Van Baarle on board.
@@rockhopper01 wow, you'll really be pissed after reading my comment!
@@rockhopper01 I don't think it is right to call something that is a serious medical issue tacky.
I am just pointing out that while this wouldn't make this list since it isn't a transfer it should still be an honorable mention since they lost that talent similar to a how a transfer would.
@@isitrachelorj3953 Yes you are a clown indeed, that has zero respect for the hard labour these sporters bring. If you would stand next to me and say that I would really kick your ass, I know a lot of these guys personaly.
Super happy for Victor Lafay 💰
GvA was a terrible deal for AG2R (not as bad as Sagan for Total Energie, but still a waste), and I'm sure they are glad that's done.
As a Norwegian, I'm pleased to see Uno-X making inroads to bolster their team. Magnus Cort joining is VERY exciting indeed. But where will Sepp Kuss transfer to for 2024? 😝
Not going anywhere mate. Like me, you must be curious how your countryman Staune Mittet and Per Strand Hagenes will perform next year..
Sepp will stay at JV
no Nils Politt?
He is making a transfer to UAE? Pitty, TJV could use a pacer like him now that Van Emden, Dennis, Roosen and Van Hooijdonk are leaving TJV.
Holger Danske. Bravo Landa, Martinez, Jorgensen..
Teo if he's back and solid, should be given GT leadership. Landa to quick-Step should bea big boost to Remco's chances.
Are there budget cuts going on at Ineos? I would love to know the salary pay cut or raise these riders are getting. Some of these moves on the surface make no sense.
I think it is rather simple, they want people that can beat TJV and Pogi, and none of these transfers were people that showed they would be up to that task, but at large payments ot the team. So it could be a budget cut as well as going back to the drawing board with new riders
US Andrew August to Ineos?
Victor Lafaye, 2 million €/year - this must be a mistake. That's what Roglic and Wout Van Aert earned the last few seasons.
Now people are talking about a merger of Jumbo and Quick Step.
Jorgenson does look like Gesink and Kruijswijk's baby, so he'll fit right in at Jumbo.
2 million a year for Victor Lafay? Is that true? Wtf?
Lafay 2M/year for an occasional victory?! Kkkk, thats not a contract, thats the lottery! The world is mad!!
interesting to see another American go to Jumbo
Ok so Lafay won one tour stage and will have yearly salary on par with Roglič and Van Aert 😢
Palmares, meaning?
Accomplishments
Wait till you see Sepp Kuss join UAE in support of Pogacar. Team loyalty was an issue for TJV. How can you not feel that he was betrayed by Primoz and Vin with their attacks on Sepp. You defend the race leader, not attack your own teammate.
Sam Bennett was only 3 years ago the fastest man on two wheels in the world. He's had rotten luck with injuries and his shoddy treatment at bora. Surely he's worth a punt by some WT team? It was rumoured he was transferring to AG2R but that hasn't been confirmed?
jumbo should try get felix gall
No I think he has bora written all over him
@@cathalcolgan1126 i didn't know that
@@katekhumalo3123I thought he signed a contact extension before Tour de Suisse?
@@channinglewis595 I didn't know that. he is super talented I thought jumbo would be a good team for him to get even better
@katekhumalo3123 I mean I don't disagree, I just remember that they got him signed and then he was so good at Suisse and then the Tour, will be interesting to see how he progresses. Remco said that Gall could top 3 a grand Tour if there's no TT
That intro is not cool anymore 😂😂😂
hahahahahaha
Most significant transfer is Van Hoydonck to "retired". When the cocktail TJV causes these problems, not for everyone, riders better start asking questions. In the last month TJV lost one rider who got popped and one rider who "got lucky". Could have happen during a race, like Cobrelli!
🤡💩
@@swissbiggy thoughtful, witty response. You are clever!
@@isitrachelorj3953 No people sitting in their lazy chair who know shit from all the efforts these kids make year in year out, accusing other people of using certain products is very smart ?!?
You are very lucky that you can say these kind of things anonymous here on youtube. If you would say these kind of things while standing next to me in real life, I would sue you.
@@isitrachelorj3953 Maybe you are the simple one, we humans can train as much as we like but we are still mortal and sensitive to genetic diseases and eventual perish, certainly Van Hoydonck isn't the only isolated case of an elite athlete suddenly getting ill after some success.
@@swissbiggy I'm sure you would! Would Van Hooydonck? - see the minute a cheat files suit against a journalist, critic or even an accuser, that politician, athlete, whatever opens up something called "discovery" and opens his/herself to all kinds of investigation. That is why you NEVER see a world tour cyclist sue a member of the public. Maybe you are not as clever as your inane poop emoji led me to believe. DUH!
ineos just keeps giving up their best riders haha do they even win races anymore? ahhahah kinda sad i used to be a big fan of the sky train
